Orienteering USA Offers These Unique Event Packages World Cup & United States Ski Orienteering Championships January 26 February 5, 2012 Bear Valley & Lake Tahoe, CA For the first time ever a ski orienteering World Cup will be held in the United States! Sanctioned by the International Orienteering Federation and Orienteering USA, the Bay Area Orienteering Club will conduct this eleven day event. Top ski orienteers from around the world, as well as the United States and Canada will take place in this event. Additionally, recreational ski orienteers will be on hand to participate in the adjoining ski orienteering festival. Sanctioned by Orienteering USA and approved by the Canadian Orienteering Federation, the Delaware Valley Orienteering Association will conduct this three-day event. This orienteering weekend will feature the top foot orienteers in the United States and Canada as they compete for the prestigious Kjellstrom Cup. This trophy is awarded to the winning team every two years and competition will be fierce as the United States seeks to retain the Cup. Surrounding this event will be the top orienteering festival and village in the nation in 2012 as orienteers from across North America will converge on this championship weekend.
