2 Welcome Dear athletes! Dear trainers, dear guests! As the president of FICEP, I would like to accord a hearty welcome to the first ever joint Summer Games of FICEP and FISEC. 1000 athletes from 15 nations will participate in eight different types of sport in our beautiful sports city of Vienna. We will experience exciting and high-class competitions over the course of four days. Apart from the sports competition, the opening and closing ceremonies along with the holy mess at the worlds famous Stephansdom will provide for thrilling emotions and great memories. The Youth Forum, a common bazaar of participants in favor of a charitable purpose and time for visits to the city will complement your experience in Vienna. We want to create ties between the participants through their sporting experience, which will become permanent friendships, regardless of limits. This is one of the main messages of FICEP and FISEC! I would like to thank those responsible at both associations for two years of preparatory work, the Sportunion Austria for the organization of the Summer Games 2014, the Sports Ministry and the sports city of Vienna for their support and last but not least the organization team involved and the volunteers for their hard work! I wish you successful competitions, wonderful experiences and great impressions at the FICEP-FISEC Summer Games 2014! Gerhard Hauer President of FICEP
3 Dear friends of sport, As president of the Sportunion I am really looking forward to welcome you to the first ever Summer Games of FICEP and FISEC! The Sportunion carries FICEP in its heart and mind. The more enthusiastic we are about the first joint Summer Games with the FISEC. We expect over 1.000 participants from 15 different countries. As one of the largest organizations in Austrian sports it is a great pleasure for the Sportunion and its over 4.000 members to host these Summer Games. Our team has done everything in his power to make your stay in Vienna as enjoyable as possible. We are especially happy to invite you to one of the highlights of this week, a holly mess in Vienna s well-known Stephansdom. Vienna connects East and West. Even Robert Musil has philosophized about whether Vienna is the easternmost city of the West or the westernmost city of the East. However, Vienna is definitely an excellent venue for the first joint Summer Games involving teams from all directions and cultures. The fact, that almost all competitions are held at the same location in Strebersdorf is especially pleasant. Therefore you can support your team colleagues at any time. We look forward to a great atmosphere and a lot of fans! Sport brings people together. Fairness comes first. Sport promotes and deepens interpersonal relationships regardless of age, gender or origin. The Summer Games of FICEP and FISEC are not only results and medals, but also the foundation for experiences as a community and lifelong friendships. In this sense i would like to wish all participants of the first joint Summer Games of FICEP and FISEC much success, a wonderful time in beautiful Vienna, a lot of new friendships and plenty of fun! Yours Peter Haubner President of SPORTUNION Austria
