2 THE MESSAGE International tournament Città della Pace 30th, 31st March and 1st April 2018 a message related to sport During the three days event, young athletes from all around compete the world against each other on the football fields and the basketball courts. They perform with honesty and fair play, respecting the rules and the other contenders. The tournament s goal is to represent a unique and one of a kind experience! A MESSAGE RELATED TO PEACE, MEETING AND EXCHANGE Thanks to this remarkable event, Rovereto and Trentino turn into a meeting point for various cultures and traditions and the thousands of athletes who come in our region are the ones who deliver the important message of peace! a message of celebration The tournament is a moment of celebration. Not just athletes and helpers take part in the event, but also the locals have always participated with enthusiasm at the various side events: from the opening Ceremony at the Campana dei Caduti to the colourful parade along the streets, from the matches on the sport fields to the finals, as well as to assist to the firework show at Quercia Stadium.

3 history Lake Garda has always been a popular destination for German and Dutch tourists. Trentino is a land of connection between Europe and Italy, with its extraordinary historical, architectural and natural beauties. Rovereto and the Vallagarina are welcoming territories, where the locals share the love for sport, meeting and socialisation. These are some of the features of the International Tournament Città della Pace, which is going to celebrate its 31st edition in More than 30 years ago Dutch, German and Italian football teams came to Trentino on a retreat and started playing friendly matches against each other. These matches lead to the first edition of the Tournament in Five years later, in 1993, the first edition of the handball tournament took place: it was the first tournament in Italy that included both male and female teams. In 2014 another discipline was added, which was field hockey. In 2015 rugby was introduced. Basket will finally take place in The territory and its economic impact The participants and their chaperons have the possibility to discover Rovereto and the fascinating area that surrounds it. In the last 30 years thousands of European athletes, coaches and parents visited Rovereto and Trentino during the Tournament. Therefore, the economic impact of the Tournament cannot only be measured in terms of promotion of the territory abroad, but it is also possible to look directly at the revenues that it produces.

Not only sport: solidarity, meeting and peace make this event unforgettable for everyone. OPENING CERIMONY PEACE BELL The tolls of the biggest bell in the world start the Tournament. PARADE ROVERETO S CITY CENTRE The streets of Rovereto get colourful while thousands of young people celebrate. CLOSING CEREMONY QUERCIA STADIUM The audience, the finals, the award ceremony and the spectacular firework show.

8 the tournament S heart VOLUNTEER STAFF A young and competent staff supervises the Tournament: from sport management to the marketing department, from event management to press releases. Everyone is a volunteer: a group who has been working together for 6 years and who has always reached positive results. JUNIOR TEAM 140 students from various high schools in Rovereto work as volunteers for the organization of the Tournament.
