THANK YOU NORTHWOODS ONCE MORE FOR A GREAT NORTHWOODS TURN OUT FOR All three 3rd grade classes helped with STUFF-ATRUCK. Students helped haul bags and bring them to the truck, they did PR announcements for 3 days, they put up some great posters all over the school which they created, and they were very helpful in many ways for this project. Top picture is Mr. Moss s class. Middle is Mrs. Bauer s class and bottom is Mrs. Melgaard s class.

From Suzanne Becker of Feed My People: Thank You! Together the Eau Claire School District raised 5,504 pounds of food and $1,820.02 for the Gordy s Stuff a Truck event. WOW what a difference that will make! At FMP, we don t want hunger to be the reason our kids don t succeed. We want to remove this barrier so they can learn and grow. Your generosity is critical to our children, their families and our community. Soaring High Club FOR NOVEMBER 18, 2016 Congratulations to our SOARING HIGH KIDS! Joe, Hudson, Adrian, Kaitlyn, Bella, Cania, Dakota, Ntwssi, Finley, Ntshiabsi ( Do She), Collin, Txuj Ci, Carson, Madelynn, Carter, Kierstyn, Katie, Charlie, Adriana, Kenny, Joey, and Allyson.

DAY PROGRAM What a wonderful program we had on Friday, November 11. Over 60 Veterans came to our school and we were honored to have them here. Included were the Cub and Boy Scouts who were the honor guard and they were assisted by the Girl Scouts and American Heritage Girls. Our speaker was Mike Hallquist, retired Sergeant Major for the Army National Guard and recipient of the Bronze Star Medal. Our newly formed Northwoods Chorus debuted with patriotic song. A huge thank you goes to our Music Teacher- Ms. Miller and all the staff who worked hard to provide treats for the Veterans, decorations, and many details that go into to this program. It is always one of our most memorable days. Enjoy the pictures.

REMEMBERING OUR VETERANS. 5 TH GRADE SERVICE PROJECT Once Again Will Feature Raising Money For Freedom Honor Flights Can You Help? extraordinary trip of a lifetime and well deserved. If your child is in 5th grade send your donations to their class Collection days: Monday, November 14 through Friday, December 2 Freedom Honor Flight is an organization out of Lacrosse that raises money to send WWII, Korean, and Vietnam veterans to Washington DC to see the memorials that have been built in their honor. The trip is free to these veterans and they travel there and back in one day. This is a great fundraiser because the money we raise goes straight to the veteran's trip. Each year the 5 th grade has raised about $1300 which means that we can support 2 to almost 3 veterans going on one of these If your child is in another grade, please send your donations to the class in an envelop marked with your child s name and that it is for the Honor Flight Collection. These will be collected by our 5 th graders. If you wish to write a check, please make it out to Freedom Honor Flight Organization DEADLINE IS DECEMBER 2

A PAGE OF THANKFULNESS hundreds of thankful Turkeys came back from our families with some wonderful results. This is such a great family project to prepare for Thanksgiving. Please stop in to see our large display in the entry. Many thoughtful messages were on the Turkeys..And our Staff wrote some messages of thanks also
