CLEAR CREEK ISD DANCE/DRILL TEAM CODE OF CONDUCT FORWARD The dance team is a vital student organization that participates in a wide range of activities during the regular academic year and summer break. Those who are on the dance team treasure their membership very highly and consider their association with the students as one of their most pleasant and valuable school experiences. The fellowship, healthful recreation, and the personal gratification, which comes from giving an outstanding performance before an appreciative audience, are but a few of the positive outcomes of dance team membership. Dance team members acknowledge the following responsibilities: PREAMBLE ACTIVITIES A. I will participate in daily practices, performances, school activities and other required functions. B. I know that all dance team activities are mandatory for everyone and that the only excuses for absences are those listed in the Code of Conduct. C. I understand that dance team membership is for an entire year, from tryouts to tryouts. BEHAVIOR A. I will conduct myself in a respected role-model manner, remembering there is an appropriate time and place for various activities. B. I will carry out all instructions with a conscientious and enthusiastic attitude. C. I will remember that being a drill team member is a privilege and I am considered a school representative and I will behave as such. UNIFORMS A. I know that my uniforms are objects of pride and because they bear the school colors they should be worn with respect and dignity. I understand that I am not to allow anyone who is not a dance team member to wear any part of my uniform- whether purchased by myself or issued by the school- at any time. B. I know that I will be responsible for repair or replacement of any lost or mishandled uniforms. (See Constitution) I know the uniforms consist of: 1. Formal field uniform 2. Friday school uniform and/or warm-up 3. Practice uniforms 4. Contest/Basketball/Spring Show or any other performance costume C. I know that it is my duty to know when each uniform is required and to wear it properly. I alone am responsible for my uniform. EQUIPMENT A. I realize that I am entrusted with school property when I handle dance team equipment. It will be issued to me in good condition and I will keep it in good condition. B. I am responsible for helping to keep the dance room clean at all times. Revised 5/2005, Effective 5/2005

ATTITUDE A. I understand the duty of the officers is to help lead and direct this organization. B. I will strive not to hold personal prejudices and/or grudges and to practice the rules of good sportsmanship. C. I will try at all times to make the dance team an outstanding organization of unity, loyalty, dignity and honor. ARTICLE I. MEMBERSHIP Section I- Maintaining Membership A. Grade Restrictions 1.
