MAC NEWS Issue 3 October 26 th, 2018 Letter from the PTA Co-Presidents Hello Mac Families, Happy October, everyone! The weather is getting a little cooler and Halloween is right around the corner. All of our Mac students are excited for our Halloween Parties next Wednesday. Since Halloween falls on a Wednesday our parties will end at 2:25 and our helpers will clean up after school. A big shout out to our 2nd Vice President and Class Parties chairperson, Kelly Ridley, on her hard work getting the parties organized. And thank you to all of our party planners for their work planning the classroom parties next week. It takes a lot of creativity and time to put these parties together! During the month of October, we also held our successful fall Book Fair. Thank you to all of our PTA volunteers for helping throughout the week and to our Book Fair committee, Kristin Thomas and Erica Kral, for pulling it all together! The PTA also hosted a Conference Dinner for our staff during conference week and it received rave reviews from our teachers. Thank you to Michelle Mina for her hard work putting such a delicious meal together. Looking into November and December, we have a few big events we wanted to make sure you put on your calendar! On November 7 th we have our Movie Night and will be showing Coco in Spanish! We will be hosting Goodies with Grandparents on November 16th. And on December 7th, we will be hosting our Taste of Mac event. This event is great when we have more families participate, so we hope to have many of you join us! Please see the attached newsletter for more information on both events. We will also be trying something new this month in honor of National Literacy Month. Keep an eye out for information about our upcoming Read-a-thon. We are excited to try this as a school wide event in November! Our next PTA meeting will be November 13th at 7pm in the school library. A Spanish translator is available, as is babysitting. We hope to see you there!
