PGA Professionals hosting events will be assigned a four-digit login number for the administrative section of the tournament. Two weeks prior to the scheduled event date please contact our Marketing Department to arrange shipping for tee gifts and other instructions. Each participant is entitled to tee gift set. Official Rules & Eligibility PLAYER ELIGIBILTY AMATEUR ELIGIBILITY Valid Handicaps: All players must be of amateur status to participate. Each player must have a valid USGA Handicap Index issued by a legitimate entity such as Golf Association or local club. No other form of handicap will be accepted. Players will declare their respective handicap and provide the Ghin #, our website is directly connected to the issuing entity and will automatically adjust the handicaps. Any player carrying more than one officially issued Handicap Index must use the lower index for the tournament. Players who do not have a valid Handicap Index are not eligible to compete. Any player that reports an incorrect index or attempts to use unethical strategies to gain an advantage will be disqualified without refund of entry fee. All reported handicaps must reflect the player s ability. Tournament officials reserve the right to verify every player s handicap and will randomly check on players deemed to be reporting the wrong index. Such players and their team will be automatically disqualified. Any team whose conduct is deemed unethical or reflecting poor sportsmanship will also be disqualified. Handicap Calculation: The PGA professional hosting the local event shall provide the valid handicap index of each player, calculate the tournament index and assign a tournament handicap for all participants. A team shall receive a maximum tournament index of 7 regardless of the individual handicaps. All players are personally responsible for obtaining and adhering to the rules of play. By signing the entry form each player acknowledges to have received and accepted the Rules of play. PROFESSIONAL ELIGIBILITY All players must be members of the Professional Golfers' Association and conform to all employment requirements. TEAMS ELIGIBILITY Teams must consist of 4 players and each member must meet individual amateur eligibility. Only one team player may have a handicap index of 8 or lower. All players with handicaps of 19 or above will enter the tournament as a 19. No team may enter the tournament if the sum of all players handicaps is 35 or less. Winning teams may not defend in the, only 2 of the 4 players can remain on the same team; penalty for this infraction is automatic disqualification. SUBSTITUTIONS Any player can be substituted by another player with a handicap index equal to or greater than the substituted player. Substitutions can only take place between events and never during play. Only one substitution per team is allowed. All substitutions must meet individual amateur or Professional requirements and be approved by the Tournament Committee. SCORECARD The official scorecard must be printed from the website. Each team is responsible for reporting the correct score at the local qualifiers. Teams that advance to the regional finals must provide a monitor. A monitor is any person over the age of 18 that is familiar with the game and is capable of keeping score. Each monitor will be assigned to one of the opposing teams and act as the official score keeper for the team. Each team shall elect a captain and he or she shall be the only person that communicates the teams score to the monitor. It is the captain s responsibility to verify that the correct score is entered on the scorecard. Once the score has been recorded it shall be final and count towards the total. All scorecards must be signed by both the monitor and the team s captain.
RULES OF PLAY & TOURNAMENT INSTRUCTIONS Participants: A team shall consist of four players. Handicap adjustments: All players handicaps will be matched against the CARIBBEAN SCRAMBLE OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT INDEX handicap chart and a value shall be assigned to each team as the official handicap for the tournament. Teeing Ground: Both Male & Female participants shall tee off from the respective sex designated tee box. Tee Shoots: Each player s tee shot must be selected at least twice and clearly marked on the scorecard during the 18- hole competition. Shot Selection: Every player tees off and the best shot is selected, each player then hits the second shot from the selected position, and this format continues until the ball is holed. The location of the selected shot is marked and each team member then places his ball within one club length of the selected spot, but no closer to the hole. Ball Placement: If the selected spot for the shot is played from a FAIRWAY, HAZARD, SAND TRAP, ROUGH or FIRST- CUT, the ball may be placed within one club length of the selected spot, but no closer to the hole and must remain in the FAIRWAY, HAZARD, SANDTRAP, ROUGH, or FIRST CUT. SAND TRAPS may be raked and the ball placed in the trap. Ball Placement on the Green: When on the green, you must place your ball within two inches of the selected shot, no closer to the hole. Teams are cautioned not to make tap-ins until all members have had the opportunity to attempt the team s original putt. Once the ball is holed out, no further strokes count and teams should move to the next hole even though all players may not have had an opportunity to putt. Ball Substitution: Players may change balls between strokes or holes. Scoring: A team's gross score is calculated without handicap. A team's net score is calculated when the round has been completed by subtracting the team handicap from the gross score. Tie Scores: Teams can only win one division either Low Gross or Low net. If a team wins both the gross and net divisions, it shall be declared the gross winner and the net division victory will be forfeited. If a team should win one division and tie for another, the tie will be forfeited and the win shall stand. Tie Breakers: In the event of a tie, the hosting PGA Professional will determine the winner by either sudden death play, chip off, putting competition or matching scorecards Tournament Officials: The hosting PGA Professional shall be the Official Ruling body. Every decision rendered shall be final. The winning amateur teams and Club Professionals compete in a two-day scramble for a total prize purse of $250,000.00 Thirty Amateurs will be drawn for an attempt at a Hole in One Shot worth $1,000,000.00 The PGA Club Professionals also compete in a one-day medal play event for a total prize purse of $1,000,000.00 The winning Pro s Golf Club will also be awarded $25,000.00 paid directly to the Club s Treasurer.
