Chillicothe Sportsmen s Club Newsletter September 2018 WEB PAGE http://www.chillisportsmen.org/ Chillicothe Sportsmen s Club, Inc. PO Box 13, Chillicothe, IL. 61523-0013 Webmaster Tim Vik - webmaster@chillisportsmen.org CONTACTS If you have any questions or concerns about your Club you may contact any Club Officer listed below or any board member. President V-President Secretary Treasurer Chris Bach Steve Risinger Tim Vik Lowell Bennett (309)256-1712 (309)449-6268 (309)258-4809 (309) 274-5586 INFORMATION & NOTICES: LEGISLATIVE ACTION INFORMATION: We must fight for our rights, or we will lose them. You saw proof of that, when Governor Rauner recently signed anti-gun bills. What should upset you more, is the bigger picture - the House & Senate had veto-proof majorities supporting those bills, so they were going to pass, with or without Governor Rauner. The general election is less than 3 months away, and who gets elected means a great deal to current & future gun owners. Those opposing our gun rights are well organized & well-funded. CSC has over 1000 members; so far only 3 have volunteered to work on legislative activities. Our silent members cannot afford to be silent any longer! The Legislative Committee will have a voter registration table at the Fall (Sep 29 & 30) Gun show. Make sure you are currently registered to vote or you can register at the Gun Show. The Legislative Committee also needs a CSC Membership list of elected representatives, both Federal & State (Federal & State House of

Representatives, State Senate), for future use in contacting regarding 2 nd Amendment issues that will appear before them. To contact Gov. Rrauner online, simply fill out the form at: https://act.nraila.org/takeaction.aspx?alertid=2041 or call 217-782- 0244. Art Remsik @ (309) 678-4827 CSC Legislative Action Chair MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL TIME IS COMING SOON: Don t forget that all memberships expire on December 31. For annual members, you have to have your renewal in by February 1, 2019 or you will have to apply again and start over as a new member. You will still owe for work hours not completed if you apply again. We will begin the renewing memberships for 2019 at the annual meeting on November 13, 2018. We will also be renewing memberships at the Gun Show on December 1 and 2, and also at the December 11 and January 8 board meetings. If you can t renew at one of those times, then please mail your membership card with any work hours signed off and a check for what you owe to: Chillicothe Sportsmen s Club Attn: Bob Griffith P.O. Box 13 Chillicothe, IL 61523 Annual members will owe $100 for dues, plus $25 for the land fund and $15/hour for each of the required 10 work hours you have not completed. Sorry, no extra credit for work hours beyond the 10 required. Associate Life members of any age and Life members under the age of 65 will owe $25 for the land fund and $15/hour for each of the required 10 work hours you have not completed. Life members age 65 and over owe $25 for the land fund. If you have any questions, send me (Bob Griffith) an e-mail at griffrc@mchsi.com or you can call me evenings between 5:00 and 8:00 week nights or on weekends at 309-274-2068. FALL GUN SHOW: Remember the CSC Fall Gun Show is Saturday, September 29, 8:30 AM 4, and Sunday, September 30, 8:30 AM 2. Their will be Vendors on both clubhouse levels. Front-site lifetime Memberships will be available for a small donation. Your membership will allow you to attend as many Front-Site courses as you desire without costing you any additional course fees. You will still be responsible for travel, lodging, food, & ammunition expenses. Setup is Friday, September 28, starting at 9:30 AM and cleanup is Sunday, September 30, starting at 2. Some help is also needed for

both Gun Show days in the kitchen & at the entrance doors during the gun show hours. Work hour credits will be given for all volunteers. If you desire to bring any pies or cakes for work hour credits, you must contact Steve Risinger before bring them out for the show.
