East Anglian Air Ambulance We need you today, You may need us tomorrow It is a little known fact that air ambulances in England & Wales are operated by charities, receiving no funding from either the Government or the National Lottery and relying entirely upon the generosity of their supporters and fund raising teams. With operating costs of 7.7m per year, but responsible for just over 5 million people living in the four counties we serve, it works out at only 2.50 per person per year to keep your helicopters flying. Based at Cambridge Airport, Anglia Two (the air ambulance for Bedfordshire & Cambridgeshire) is only seen over Bedfordshire when on an emergency mission. At that time you will know it is with your help the crew are on their way to potentially save life. In May 2013 we became the first and only air ambulance to date in the Country to fly during the hours of darkness which was a magnificent achievement for our Charity. Later this year we hope to introduce a new and exciting development for our service in that we aim to carry blood on board the helicopter. This will allow us to provide a precious resource as should the need arise we will be able to transfuse a patient, at the scene of an accident, thus further enhancing the survival rate. For more information www.eaaa.org.uk The British Horse Society provides a strong voice for horses and people and spreads awareness through support, training and education. It is the largest and most influential equine charity in the UK, working in a spirit of partnership, with energy, commitment and knowledge, to promote and achieve the highest standards in all areas of equestrianism. From enthusiasts to riders and professionals, the BHS can help everyone get the most out of their relationship with horses. We offer world-class qualifications and an approvals system awarding quality instruction and care, a strong voice in access, safety and welfare issues and support and guidance in all areas. Whoever you are, working for you. In Bedfordshire the local committee of unpaid volunteers work to improve offroad riding, to address equine welfare concerns and to help local riders enjoy their horse (at events like this!). For more information www.bhs.org.uk

Prizes We want to encourage you all to raise as much as possible for these two great charities. In 2012,16 riders raised over 100, generating over 2,500 between them can you be as successful? The five riders who raise the most sponsorship (including Gift Aid see below) will have the fantastic opportunity to meet the EAAA helicopter and crew during 2015. Every child (16 or under) who raises sponsorship of 20 or more will receive an EAAA Goodie Bag including a twisty tumbler. dessert cookery book. The rider of the horse or pony that the starter would most like to take home will be awarded a 20 gift voucher from RB Equestrian ALL RIDERS WILL RECEIVE A ROSETTE AND CERTIFICATE Virgin Money Giving Please use Virgin Money Giving to collect your sponsorship, if possible. easier for you and will allow us to claim gift aid on eligible sponsorship. You can create your own fundraising page (and even link it to your Facebook page). Click on events on ttp://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/charities/bhs and start fundraising. Gift Aid Let the Government support charity too!* Even if you only raise the 10 minimum sponsorship, doing so via Virgin Money Giving with Gift Aid increases the donation to 12.30 (after costs). If the donor is a high rate tax payer they can claim a further 2.50 back via their tax return so it will only cost them 7.50! So 100 is worth 123 to these two important local charities its easy to set up a Virgin Money Giving page and to encourage your friends to sponsor you on it, so please try it! (*donors must be eligible tax payers to qualify) But cash is most welcome too.. All sponsorship monies not collected via Virgin Money Giving must be brought to the event or sent to Janet Baker, 8 Byron Close, Biggleswade, Beds, SG18 8QF by the end of October. Cheques to be made payable to The British Horse Society. All net proceeds from this event will be shared equally between East Anglian Air Ambulance and BHS Bedfordshire

Our heartfelt thanks go to: Whitbread Farms Limited and Charles Whitbread for their kind permission to ride in their lovely estate. Our generous sponsors: NFU Mutual for the rosettes, R B Equestrian for the prize gift vouchers and Landscope Land and Property for the numbered bibs. The team of paramedics who have volunteered their time to provide first aid cover we hope they will be very idle. All the volunteer stewards and marshals who have also given up their time to make sure everyone has a wonderful time give them a smile!
