Second grade will be selling SMENCILS again this year the week of December 9-13 to adopt penguins from the Indianapolis Zoo and to fund the Penguin Unit projects. SMENCILS will be sold in the morning 8:45-9:00. They are $1 per pencil. Teachers will direct your child to the location where they may purchase their SMENCIL.. This great opportunity will help our 2nd graders learn about economics, help the environment, and support a good cause! As long as the temperature is 20* or above and/or the wind chill is 20* or above, students will be going outside for recess. Please be sure they have weather-appropriate outerwear including hats, shoes/boots, and gloves so they can join their friends! Grades K, 1 & 2 will be Thursday, December 19 from 2:45-3:30 Grades 3, 4 & 5 will be Friday, December 20 from 2:45-3:30 CG Middle School North Cheerleading Clinic The 2013 CGMSN Cheerleading Clinic is almost here! This fun clinic is for elementary-aged girls (K- 5) who love to cheer and dance! The clinic will be held on Saturday, December 14 in the MSN Trojan Gym and girls who attend will cheer and dance with the MSN cheerleaders at the boys basketball game vs. Belzer on Monday, December 16. Parents can download a registration packet from the CGMSN website, then submit the registration form and payment to MSN s main office. You must turn in or mail in your registration form by December 4 to guarantee a cheer clinic t-shirt, so sign up today!
To: From: Re: All 2 nd, 3 rd, 4 th, and 5 th graders and Parents Mrs. Fisk and Mrs. Hobson Skipping Stars The exciting sport of rope skipping continues to gain popularity nationwide. Because of this, we will offer this as an extracurricular activity. The objectives of the program are as follows: 1. To refine fundamental jumping techniques. 2. To present basic and advances rope tricks. 3. To introduce double-dutch skills both turning and jumping. 4. To exercise and get students active. This program is open to any student, grades 2 5, who is interested in learning new ways to jump rope. Practice will be held on Fridays before school at 8:00 am. Our performance date has not been scheduled, but is usually held in May. Practice will end after our show date. If your child is interested, please sign and return the permission slip below, along with $10.00 for their t-shirt. No child will be allowed to participate without a signed permission slip on file here at school. We do want each child to have a t-shirt, so please let us know if you need assistance. Please order the correct size as no extra shirts will be provided. Please wear shirts to practice each Friday. Please return this order/permission form to Mrs. Fisk in Room 13 by Friday, December 20th. We will not be accepting any order/permission forms after this date, so act fast! CASH ONLY! We will have ropes available to purchase in the Maple Grove Bookstore, if your child is still in need. Ropes are $3.00 for speed. This order form is for shirts only; ropes need to be purchased in person please. Students have an opportunity to visit the MGES Bookstore, each morning before school starts until 9:00! Practice is very important! It is recommended that your child attend each Friday! YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IS VERY IMPORTANT IN ORDER TO KEEP YOU INFORMED! If you do not have an email address, your child will be able to pick up necessary forms at practice on Fridays. We will not hold Skipping Stars if there is a 2-hour delay!
