Updates will be sent out regularly, on a day to day basis, updating everyone on the band s schedule for the day as well as performance times, arrival and departure time, etc. *All students and parents are asked to join the Remind 101 group for all announcements and information for Disney.*

Disney Trip Checklist Luggage Packed (following the guidelines listed below) Instrument Packed (all instruments that are not a flute or clarinet, will be stowed under the bus Instrument accessories packed (sticks/mallets, reeds, cork grease, valve oil, etc.) Uniform Packed (please make sure that your uniform has the correct jacket, white pants, gauntlets, and shako) Money for trip (please read what do I need to pack? for details on money) Carry On bag packed (please read what do I need to pack? for details on carry on items) Fees for Disney Fees for the trip to Disney should be paid in full as of this point. Please note, that all payments are currently past due, and that failure to pay for you or your student s trip will result in you and/or your student s removal from the trip. Last possible day to pay before removal is February 23rd. Payments may be made with Mr. Young or Mrs. Edwards. Checks should be made payable to Buford High School with the subject line reading disney payment. Disney Trip Dress Code While the band is at Disney, students are required to follow the below dress code policy. Any deviation from the dress code below will result in the loss of the student s choice of dress for remainder of the trip. Multiple infractions of the below will result in the student being sent home early. The below is the dress code for the Buford Band of Wolves Disney Trip. Please read the information carefully as to not miss anything. Tops - (t-shirts, tank tops, etc.) can be any color, but must be of proper size and cover the student s body from the base of the neck to below their waist. Tank tops will only be allowed if not home made. No home made tanks or sleeveless shirts are allowed. The wearing of oversized tanks, spaghetti straps, crop tops, or halter tops is strictly prohibited. No undergarments may be visible at any time. Bottoms - (shorts, pants, etc.) can be any color, but must be appropriate in size and in length. Clothing should be comfortable and appropriate for the weather conditions for Orlando, Florida during the time of the trip. No spandex shorts or pants are allowed The wearing of athletic leggings (pants) is permitted as long as the shirt worn above covers the student's hips and posterior region. Non athletic leggings are strictly prohibited

No holes are allowed in any article of clothing Shoes - Athletic shoes that cover the entire foot and worn with socks are recommended. Sandals may be worn on the days that we are not doing the parade (please see itinerary for more information). Marching shoes with long black sock must be worn for the parade. Students must have appropriate protection for their feet at all times. Rooming Assignments Rooming assignments for this trip will be made by the Director of Bands. Please note that while making the rooming assignments, careful consideration has been made to make sure that all students have an enjoyable time while in Disney. Rooms may not be switched at any time, before or during the trip. All rooming assignments are considered final. What do I need to pack? For the trip to Disney, students will only be allowed to pack in one piece of luggage. This is for space restrictions under the charter busses, as we have to fit every person s personal luggage, instrument, and uniform under the bus. Students will be allowed to bring one carry on item onto the bus as well. Detailed instructions on dimensions of luggage and description of approved items are listed below. The following are the largest dimensions that will be permitted for a student s luggage: For suitcases, no piece of luggage may be bigger than 32 For Duffle Bags, no piece of luggage may be bigger than 28 x 20 x 14 Please make sure that you pack the following items for your trip to Disney: Clothing for the parks Students should pack a minimum of 3 changes of clothing (one for each day). A fourth change of clothing is recommended for the bus ride back. All clothing should follow the assigned dress code Marching Attire Winds and Percussion Marching band shirt Marching Band Shorts Long Black Socks Marching Shoes White marching gloves Colorguard Marching band colorguard uniform (2017 season) Jazz shoes

Hair and makeup accessories Gloves and other accessories Toiletries Toothbrush Toothpaste Shampoo and conditioner Medications/Health information Please make sure we have the most up to date health information on your student prior to the trip. Any medications that students must take while on the trip must be turned into Mrs. Edwards prior to the trip. A Medication Administration Form must be filled out and provided with the medication. These forms can be found on the BHS website. Use the clinic tab found on the information drop down menu at the top of the BHS website or you can find it at the following site: https://schoolnursebufordhighschool.weebly.com/ Money for breakfast, souvenirs, etc. ( estimated amount students should bring $75 but this amount depends on what souvenirs your student plans to purchase, how much food they eat for breakfast, and any additional purchases they make) During your trip at Disney, each student will be responsible for purchasing breakfast before we leave for the theme parks. All meals while at the parks (lunch and dinner) are already covered. Any additional meals/snacks/drinks/souvenirs students would like must be purchased by the student at their expense Each student is allowed one carry on item and one personal item for the bus ride. The following is what is considered a carry on item, and a personal item, as well as what each student needs to make sure they pack in that carry on. Please read carefully as to not miss any information. Examples of a carry on item: Backpack, drawstring bag, large tote bag Examples of a personal item: A pillow,blanket, a purse, stuffed animal, etc. The following items should be packed into each students carry on bag: Change of clothes for the first day in the theme park Toiletries Money

Disney Trip Itinerary Wednesday, April 4th 2018 10:00PM 11:00PM 11:30PM Students arrive at Buford High School Students should make sure they arrive with their luggage, instrument, uniform needs, money for souvenirs and food. Luggage should be in 1 bag, students should pack clothing that is comfortable for being outside in the park at Disney. Clothing must meet BHS band dress code used for band camp which is found in band handbook. Students will load Daniel s charter busses, all instruments and luggage will be stored below the charter bus. Students are limited to one luggage bag, instrument, uniform, and shako which will be placed in storage compartment below the bus. Students may carry onto the bus one drawstring or small backpack which can be stored in the overhead storage compartment. Students should bring a change of clothes with them on the bus for the next day s activities into Disney s Epcot. Buford High School Band of Wolves depart from Buford High School (2750 Sawnee Ave. Buford, GA 30518) to Walt Disney World s All Star Music Resort ( 1801 Buena Vista Dr, Bay Lake, FL 32830) - 480 miles Thursday, April 5th 2018 7:00AM 7:00AM-8:00AM 8:00AM 8:45AM Arrive at Walt Disney World s All-Star Music Resort ( 1801 Buena Vista Dr, Bay Lake, FL 32830) Band director will check students into hotel All luggage will be offloaded and stored by the hotel staff until needed after students return from Disney s Epcot. Students will not be provided room assignments until returning from day in the Epcot Park. Students will eat breakfast at the WDW All-Star Music Resort Students should plan to bring money for breakfast - average cost is $12 Students will meet band director and chaperones in resort lobby, students will be broken up into assigned groups. All groups will load Disney s Epcot busses and head to Disney s Epcot Park. Students arrive at Disney s Epcot Students will stay with their designated chaperone while in the park.

9:00AM-8:30PM 8:30PM 8:45PM 9:15PM 10:30PM Buford Band enjoys Disney s Epcot Two meal vouchers are provided for each day in the parks. Student groups meet at the entrance of Epcot. All groups will check in band director at this time. Band, chaperones and directors take Disney travel back to WDW All-Star Music Resort Band, chaperones and directors arrive at WDW All-Star Music Resort. Room assignments will be given to students. Chaperones will monitor as students retrieve their luggage and move to their rooms. Lights out - Students may not leave their rooms after this time. Friday, April 6th 2018 7:00AM 7:00AM-8:15AM 8:15AM 8:45AM 12:45PM Wake-up call - Chaperones will check on rooms of assigned students to make sure they are awake and preparing for the day ahead. Breakfast and then meet chaperone in resort lobby. Students need to make sure that they bring all of the parts needed for the parade that day (marching shoes, long black socks, correct Disney shirt, gloves, uniform parts, etc. Student groups, with their chaperone, load Disney travel services, and head to Disney s Magic Kingdom Park Arrive at Disney s Magic Kingdom Students will stay with their designated chaperone while in the park. Two meal vouchers are provided for each day in the parks. Chaperones should help students plan meals so not to interfere with performance time. Student groups are to meet directors at the entrance of Pirates of the Caribbean ride to head to changing area for the parade. 12:45PM-2:15PM Students are to meet busses, unload uniforms and instruments, change into uniform and warm up. 2:15PM 2:30PM 3:00PM Students move to ready area for parade. Buford Band of Wolves marches in Disney s Magic Kingdom Parade Parade concludes, students head back to load uniforms and instruments under bus, change into park attire, and re-enter Disney s Magic Kingdom.

3:30PM-9:00PM 9:00PM 9:45PM 10:30PM Student groups rejoin their chaperone to enjoy the rest of the day at Disney s Magic Kingdom. Student groups meet director of bands at the entrance of Disney s Magic Kingdom, load Disney s travel services and head back to WDW All-Star Music Resort Arrive at WDW All-Star Music Resort Lights-out - Students may not leave their rooms after this time. Saturday, April 7th 2018 7:00AM 7:00AM-8:15AM 8:15AM 8:45AM 9:00AM-8:00PM 8:00PM 8:30PM 9:00PM Wake-up call - Chaperones will check on rooms of assigned students to make sure they are awake and preparing for the day ahead. Breakfast, pack up all belongings back into luggage, bring luggage down to the lobby, load luggage on bus, and then meet chaperones in lobby to head to Disney s Hollywood Studios Student groups, with their chaperone, load Disney travel services, and head to Disney s Hollywood studios Arrive at Disney s Hollywood Studios Students will stay with their designated chaperone while in the park. Two meal vouchers are provided for each day in the parks. Enjoy the day at Disney s Hollywood Studios All groups will meet at Fantasmic for the final showing of the Fantasmic show At the conclusion of Fantasmic all groups will go with band director to the front of the park, exit and head to the bus parking lot to meet Daniel s Charter Company, and load busses. Students load charter busses and depart from Disney s Hollywood Studios ( 351 S Studio Dr, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830) to Buford High School (2750 Sawnee Ave, Buford, GA 30518) - 480 miles Sunday, April 8th 2018 5:00AM Band arrives back at Buford High School. Students are to unload all luggage, instruments, uniforms, and equipment off buses, put equipment away in the band room and head home. Director of Bands will insure that all students are picked up and depart safely for home, and will lock up BHS before leaving.
