Remte BirdLife Australia wrkplaces, fr example bservatries and reserves, need t be t develp their wn specific Emergency Respnse Prcedures including a bushfire plan based upn the specific cnditins f their wrkplace and lcality. 1.4 Definitins Emergency is an unplanned r imminent event that affects r threatens the health, safety r welfare f peple, prperty and infrastructure, and which requires a significant and crdinated respnse. The defining characteristic f an emergency event r situatin is that usual resurces are verwhelmed r have the ptential t be verwhelmed. Disaster is a cnditin r situatin f significant destructin, disruptin and/r distress t a wrkplace. Emergency management is the crdinatin f an emergency respnse and management f recvery. The aim f emergency management is t minimise physical and psychlgical impacts n all parties and t minimise damage t assets, peratins, reputatin and staff prductivity.
