Defenseman Ben Mirageas (NY Islanders), and forward Jack Badini (Anaheim Ducks), each played significant roles in the team s 2017 Clark Cup Championship, and were selected in the third round of the draft.
Steel On The Rise The Chicago Steel experienced a 33% growth in average attendance during the 2016-2017 season! The team recorded 17 crowds of over 1,000 fans (compared to three during the 2015-2016 season) including a season-high 2,159 fans for Game 4 of the Clark Cup Final. With the Steel entering only their third season at the Fox Valley Ice Arena, they are still dealing with a relatively small sample size. Partnership Inventory Throughout the 2016-2017 season, FONA International received the following corporate partnership inventory: Vikings Night Title Sponsorship FONA International sponsored Vikings Night to benefit the Geneva Academic Foundation on Friday, November 11, 2016. The game featured a pre-game reception for GAF donors and VIP guests in a luxury suite at the Fox Valley Ice Arena, a special Geneva Vikings-branded warmup jersey with the FONA International logo on the back auctioned off during the game to benefit GAF and special recognition for Geneva Community Schools educators and students! Over $4,800 (net proceeds) was raised thanks to the generosity of FONA and Steel fans supporting GAF!
Special Video FONA partnered with the Steel on a special video to play on the night of the game promoting the work that FONA does in a fun and entertaining way featuring four Steel players, mascot Rusty and FONA scientists.
