A big thanks to all who showed up in the cold to participate in Grady Wilson s grand opening of the Haysville True Value Hardware. Over and over, he has expressed his appreciation for the help the club has given him in making the change to a new location. We used to have two keys to the club mailbox but one has disappeared over time. Does anybody know where this second key is? The Enid Corvette Expo is this coming weekend. If you will contact me with the times you are wanting to leave, I will put groups together that can caravan. Mary Mehl is handling the activities for Sunday. Contact her if you want to join us on Sunday. It is supposed to be warm. Because of the Enid show, the April Drive-and-eat is rescheduled later by one week. We are progressing nicely on the plans for the Heartspring car show on May 31, 2003. As we get closer, I will be asking for additional volunteers to help with the organizing and running of the show. August 7-10, 2003 is Corvettes on the Rockies in Breckenridge, Colorado. The event has been moved because of the additional lodging that is available in Breckenridge over Frisco. We will be doing a club event around this meet. Candy Corbin has reserved some housing and can help you with additional housing if you would like to go. And finally, there is still time to go with us to the 50th Corvette Anniversary bash in Bowling Green, KY and Nashville, TN. Daryl Burbach Page 1

Volume 36 - Issue 4 April, 2003 Corvette 50th Anniversary Celebration If you are thinking about going to the Corvette 50th Anniversary Celebration this summer, you need to make your reservations as soon as possible. Several of us have made reservations at the Comfort Inn (http://www4.choicehotels.com 800-424-6423) in Glasgow, Kentucky. Glasgow is about 25 miles northeast of Bowling Green. I checked on 03/31/03 and according to their internet site they only had 1 room available and it was a suite. The two web sites about the event are: 50th Anniversary Web Site: https://www.corvette50thanniversary.com/ Corvette Caravan Web Site: http://www.nationalcorvettecaravan.com/ National Corvette Caravan returns to Bowling Green in 2003! All Roads lead to Bowling Green!!! Picture this. Thousands of Corvettes on the road and you re in the middle of them. Look ahead--corvettes, as far as you can see. Look back--america s Sports car, everywhere. You re in a truly epic caravan and an event of a lifetime. The Third National Corvette Caravan is the kick-off of the National Corvette Museum s celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Chevrolet Corvette. Starting on June 20, 2003, from the far reaches of the United States, caravans of Corvette enthusiasts will sweep across the country, growing ever-larger as they merge with other Regional Caravans along the way, converging at the Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky on June 25th, 26th and 27th. These Caravans will be non-stop excitement with numerous activities planned by the Regional Caravan Captains as the Corvettes roll, city-to-city, across America. Can you think of any better event to demonstrate the strength of the Corvette Mystique? Upon arrival in Bowling Green, registered caravaners will enjoy events at the Corvette Museum during Caravan Week. Following that, this massive assemblage of America s Sports Car will take the Nashville Cruize a 70-mile trip south on I-65 to Nashville for the Corvette 50th Anniversary Celebration organized by Chevrolet on June 27th and 28th. They ll all return to BG on the 29th & 30th for the NCM's final Anniversary events culminating with a spectacular 50th Anniversary party the night of June 29th and closing ceremonies on the morning of June 30th, the Corvette s true birthday. It s quick and easy to register for the National Corvette Caravan right now. You can get information about the Regional Caravan starting from your area by using the interactive map or other links at the Corvette Caravan Web Site (http://www.nationalcorvettecaravan.com/). Remember, you do not need to drive a Corvette to participate in the Caravan. More information, including lodging is posted elsewhere on the Corvette Caravan Web Site, in the NCM s magazine, America's Sports Car and sent-out on our participant's email list, to which all Caravan registrants are automatically subscribed. This will be the event of a lifetime for Corvette enthusiasts! Come, join us as we pay tribute and celebrate 50 years of America's Sports Car! Check out the activities along the route the Caravan from your area will take. Make sure you don't miss the fun and excitement. And wait... there s more! Fifty years. Five generations. Still another event of a lifetime. Visit Corvette50th.com, Chevrolet's official, Corvette 50th Anniversary web site, for the latest event news and ticket information for Chevrolet s 50th Anniversary Celebration in Nashville, Tennessee, June 27-28, 2003.
