Mixed results this round saw the Dragons slide to third place in the SSJCA Club Championship after leading for the first five rounds. All our intermediate sides went down despite the best efforts of joint Intermediate Player of the Round Ty Parkes (14B) 54 and Taj Allen (14C) 54. Other noteworthy batting and bowling came from William Whitehouse (16A) 40, Luke Ritchie (14A) 4 for 29 and Cameron Westlake (16A) 3 for 34. Our junior ranks proved much more successful with 7 wins and only 1 loss with the star performance coming from Junior Player of the Round Beau Wallace (12A) scoring his maiden century with an outstanding 114 not out in his teams massive win. Also great with the bat were Jared Caspersonn (12D) 45, Luke Carter-Benjamin (12C) 33 not out, Jayden Dundas (U8) 30 and the 10C trio of Noah Anderson-Barden 29 not out, Connor Ganderton 25 not out and Will Marcic 25 not out. JUNIOR MATCH REPORTS ROUND NO.6 8 BLUE TEAM No report submitted 10A TEAM No report submitted 10C TEAM After a blistering start to the season playing the modified format we moved onto traditional cricket rules this round. The mighty 10C squad made the transition seamlessly dispatching a brave Seagulls outfit by 6-169 to 8-102. We won the toss and sent them in on a lively Heathcote pitch. All of our bowlers contributed finely to a great team effort. Connor - amazing figures 1 for 1 off 2 overs. The wicket itself was a superb caught and bowled effort dismissing their classy number 4 batsman. Corey had the slinging action tuned to perfection returning 1 for 6 off 3. Special mention to Jake who was almost unplayable with consecutive maidens in his 2 overs. Tyson struck not only the stumps but also an opposing batsman. Both will be bruised for a while to come; 1 for 11 off 3 overs. Jack has really improved his line and length with the ball and great to see a wicket and only 9 runs conceded from his 3 overs. Kyle clearly had his weetbix and was at full pace off the long run. When he slowed it down the accuracy followed and the runs dried up - 0/18 off 3 overs. Will Price took a classic catch behind the wicket that Steve Smith would be proud of as well as being tidy with the ball bowling figures of 0/3 off 2. Noah was his usual reliable self and owes Will a milkshake for taking the catch for his one wicket. 1/8 off 3. Tom showed outstanding glovesmanship letting very few balls get past him as 'keeper and also took a nice catch. He restricted the scoring to 12 off his 3 overs. Maeve starred in the field with a superb throw resulting in a run out. With the ball she was very tidy with only 12 coming from her 4 overs. We welcomed Liam back in week 2 and he sent the bails flying in his 2nd over, eventually finishing with 1 for 2. With the "when you're out, you're out" batting rule now in place we felt for Maeve at the top of the order when she was dismissed without scoring. Her attitude to this setback and indeed to cricket in general is first class and she will bounce back next match. Will Marcic belted 5 boundaries in his stunning innings of 25 not out. Had we let him bat he'd still be there! We had a nasty mix up which resulted in Jake being run out for only 1 run. Noah was the second of our batsmen noble enough to retire his innings at 29*. He too found the fence with ease smashing 6 boundaries. Tom was in at 3rd drop and notched 4 quick singles before being bowled. Tyson displayed beautiful technique with the willow both in attack as well as defence. 19 not out was a great contribution. Connor came in late in the dig and had the crowd applauding his fine ranges of strokes. He too proved impossible to dismiss and crashed 4 boundaries on his way to 25 not out. Kyle showed a great attitude to making every post a winner with his running between the wickets with nice loud calls to his partner. Nice batting with 10 runs. Poor old Jack played some great shots before getting too close to his stumps and knocking his own bails off - not before getting 7 singles. Trying to secure a few more runs in the dying overs, Will Price was unluckily run out for 1 leaving Corey as our not out batsman With an outstanding contribution in the field, with the bat and ball coach Dean had no hesitation to give Connor the player of match trophy this round.

10E TEAM No report submitted 12A TEAM This game we played St Pats for the 2 nd time. Only having 9 players the first week it may have been difficult to post a high score however we managed to post a total of 234 in only 44 overs. The highlight of the match being Beau s maiden Century score of 115 not out. Well done Beau on a great Innings. He was well supported by the other boys who all helped the total by forming partnerships with him. Week 2 saw the team start strongly in the field, taking early wickets and having St Pats for 5 for 29. Alex, Thomas, Lachlan R and Koby F all claimed a wicket with Koby L taking off the keeper gloves and bagging the last wicket of the day. Lachlan got a run out and a couple of catches, Thomas also getting a good catch. Well done team on your win. Good luck next week against Caringbah. 12C TEAM No report submitted WHITTO S PIZZA ACTION SHOT OF THE YEAR COMPETITION Thanks to our great sponsor Whitto s Pizza the Club will again be running the junior Action Shot of the Year competition. 12D TEAM 14A TEAM After playing every team in the comp we were back to the start to play St Pats at Heathcote. We lost the toss and were sent in to bowl. James and Ollie teamed up to get out one of the openers early. Hayden bagged another before the St Pats batsmen put together a big partnership. Dropped catches and poor bowling and fielding led to a large total. Late wickets fell but St Pats managed to put on 215 runs by the end of the innings. James ended the day with 2 wickets, Hayden 1 and Luke 4. Ollie, Jesse and Josh all taking catches. Week 2 and after a promising start, the runs needed didn t come our way. Josh top scored with 40 runs. In the end we were bowled out in the 46 th over for 134, well behind the target. Good luck next game boys. 14B TEAM No report submitted

14C TEAM ENGADONE 3: 7/184, ST PATRICKS 3: 2/219 This was our inaugural match at the new ANZAC Oval 1. St Pats batted first and after 25 overs, were 0/97. Despite not claiming any wickets, strong bowling performances during the first 25 overs by Laythen, Hamish, Thal and Austin, restricted the run rate until the later overs when the runs started to come more freely, giving St Pats a sizeable score. Our turn to bat, and after a solid opening partnership between Jake (13) and Taj, we were 1/31 after 10 overs. Laythen then came in and continued on with Taj, taking us through to be 1/82 after 25 overs. Fluent stroke play by both with boundaries and very well run singles and twos, with our score ticking along. This partnership set us a strong platform for the next 25 overs. Week 2, Taj & Laythen continued to look very comfortable and confident at the crease, until Laythen was caught at short mid off from a slower ball for 38. Unfortunate not to have got a 50 Laythen. With quick runs need to give us a competitive total, Hamish was in next; he and Taj continued to score quickly, looking for runs at every opportunity, on what was a fast outfield. Taj went on to score a fantastic 54, until he was bowled. Great controlled and sensible batting Taj; this innings you showed real control, concentration and sensible batting, placing your team in a situation to post a good score. Your first half century with more to come no doubt! Jason joined Hamish and gave support, holding up one end while Hamish scored his runs. A patient and solid defensive effort by Jason, looking for singles at every opportunity until he was hit on the finger by a sharp delivery, causing him to retire hurt for 2 runs. Very well batted Jason! After a quick fire 30, Hamish was out. Two more quick wickets fell, Nathan A (3), Callum (6) and Jay (4). Thal never missed an opportunity for runs, scoring 16 not out, that included 3 boundaries. After 50 overs, we were 7/184, giving St Pats an 88 run chase. Despite some very good tight bowling by Laythen & Hamish, we couldn t crack their opening partnership until the 38 th over. An absolute peach of a delivery by Kyle, left arm over, off spin, pitching just outside off stump, drifting away from the right hand batsman who got a edge and very nicely caught by our keeper Jake. A delivery that Nathan Lyon would be proud to bowl! Our total was passed in the 44 th over, with St Pats continuing to bat the 50 overs. Bowling honours to Kyle, 1/35 off 5 overs and Nathan T, 1/19 off 4 overs. Laythen bowled 10 overs 0/28; Hamish 9 overs 0/13; Taj 5 overs 0/15; Thal 4 overs 0/25; Austin 4 overs 0/23 and Callum 4 overs 0/23. Simply put boys, we just didn t score enough runs in the 50 overs. Good energy in the field for the majority of the innings and despite the very good bowling, we just couldn t break the opening partnership soon enough. It appears that 200 runs plus is a par score in this competition. Heads up boys as we move onto the next match and let s get that winning feeling back once again!

16A TEAM Disappointing loss due to the lack of players, with only 7 players first week & 8 this week the boys tried hard against a inform Seagulls side.
