All Coaches, Managers and Trainers need to complete the working children form ASAP and return to Drew Blackman Home Ground Setup occurs each time we are scheduled to have Home games at Akuna, the more people that can assist on these days makes it a lot easier for everyone. Wether it is setting up the field first thing or assisting when it is a change over from mini to mod, or packing up at the end of the day, don t be scared to get involved. Remember there is no I in team, but there is a U in volunteer. Coaches and Managers: Please make sure that you do not yell instructions from the sideline. Only positive praise is to be spoken from the sideline. All instructions to the players are to go through the trainers. If you don t abide by these rules you will be spoken to by the Ground Managers. Remember you are representing our club at all times. Coaches and Managers: Please ensure is you are the last team To finish training at Akuna Oval, that you lock the gear shed and turn the lights off. The gear she just needs the shutter pulled down the gates locked on the front. The lights switch is in a small silver box located on the grandstand side of the club house. While we are on the note of the gear shed, please keep it neat and tidy for all to use. Everything has a designated spot, down allow your players to bring tackle bag and hit pads back and throw them in, put them in the correct spot.

10 Under 6 Blues COACH: Ben Bruzgulis MANAGER: Candice Bruzgulis Lost to Yarrawarrah Tigers Match Reports Another strong performance from all of our boys on Saturday. We were a few short due to injuries and school holiday leaving us with no reserves but all 8 boys really tried their best. We lead the entire game only to be beaten on the bell with a run away try from Yarrawarrah. The boys are really starting to get their groove with some of the younger boys making some great tackles. Blake had a fabulous game scoring 3 tries right up the middle and Archie scored for the second time this year, right under the posts. Jack showed some impressive confidence but narrowly missed a conversion after practising really hard and nailing a couple in warm up. Noah received the encouragement award this week for some big tackles and Blake picked up The Crunchie Award for his fabulous effort. We had a great crowd of supporters for our first home game, with all the families really getting behind the boys. Menai Roosters Versus Cronulla Caringbah Saturday 4 th 9:00am Endeavour 2 Under 6 Greens COACH: Nathan Morante MANAGER: Emma Boyd Lost to Como Jannali 36-4 No Report Received Menai Roosters Versus St Patricks Saturday 5 th 9:45am Waratah Oval
11 Under 7 Blues COACH: Scott Fraser MANAGER: Emma Mackenzie Lost to Cronulla-Caringbah 36-8 No Report Received Match Reports (continued) Menai Roosters Versus Taren Point Titans Saturday 5 th 9:00am Akuna Oval Under 8B s (2) White COACH: Paul Doran MANAGER: Kristy Winchester Lost to De La Salle 50-0 We faced yet another tough match up for our boys as we played our last game in the As for this season. It was awesome to be back at Akuna and amongst lots of our Roosters club mates and on such a perfect day for footy. De La Salle are a fine team. They were organised, fast, hardly missed a tackle and their defensive line was on us quickly, every play. Hopefully the boys learned from that. Frankly I think the gains from seeing "how it's done" are outweighed by the loss of confidence we've seen in the boys over three weeks in a level for which we never asked to play. The plan is to try and reboot the team's spirit in the Bs. Special mention to Mitchell - some great tackles and Connor and Ryan - some good yards with the ball. Wish us luck as we start our appropriate comp with a lot of ground to catch up. Menai Roosters Versus Menai Roosters (1) Blue Saturday 5 th 9:45am Akuna Oval
12 Under 8B s (1) Blue COACH: Neil McKinnon MANAGER: Stuart Redman Won 44-4 over Aquinas Match Reports (continued) We approached the first home game with so much excitement, and it showed. Following some hard defensive work at training, we took all that practice into the game and did all the little things right, keeping the colts to only 4 points. Our attack improved this week, steered by Cooper Litchfield at dummy half, who did not come off the field during the game. Multiple tries and a goal each for James Doyle, Luke Jenkins and Aiden O Brien-Smeile. Joel Gardener and Bailey Thompson also crossed the line for a great 4 pointer each. Big improvement was seen by Ethan Short, Cade Ottley and Cooper Mckinnon. Man of the Match was awarded to Bailey Thompson. Final score was 44-4 for a big win at home. Great work boys. 13 Under 9A s COACH: Darren Ratcliffe MANAGER: Drew Blackman Lost to De La Salle 2 Tries: Riley 2 Goals: Josh 1/1, Harry 0/1 Match Reports (continued) Another tough week for the 9A s, however we did see great improvement from previous weeks. A few positional changes at training and set plays changed saw us look a bit more fluent with the ball. Down 6-12 at the break and playing some enterprising footy the Chooks looked like they could match it with De La. Our defence was scrappy during parts of the game which saw De La score some easy tries and run away with the game. Great games by Riley who got a double, Jordy who took us forward all day, Josh playing first receiver for the first time. Cooper was solid in defence chopping players down with ease. Thank you to Connor and Cameron who played up from the 8 s that allowed us to field a side. 3 Points went to Cooper, 2 Points to Riley and 1 Point each to Jordy and Josh. Menai Roosters Versus Yarrawarrah Tigers Saturday 5 th 9:45am Yarrawarrah Oval Under 10C s COACH: Brett Love MANAGER: Craig Gavin Won over the bye Menai Roosters Versus Engadine Dragons Saturday 5 th 10:30am Akuna Oval

They matched try for try in the first half but unfortunately hot weather dwindled our players and the final score was 44-22, better luck next week boys. 16 Match Reports (continued) Under 13A s COACH: Luke Egan COACH: Blake Hendley MANAGER: Susan Billington Won over Como Jannali On Saturday the boys played Como for their first home game. We struggled to get a team due to School holidays and injuries and borrowed two players from the under 11 s. Luke Bray and James Renneberg were a great help and played very well, thanks boys for standing up. All the boys played Well considering most of them were out of position. We asked the boys to concentrate on defence and not worry about scoring points but we ended up putting 60 on Como! We let in a couple of soft tries in the second half but overall it was a great effort by all the boys. Congratulations to Lachlan for scoring his first try of the season, Cameron for scoring, Matt for kicking 10 from 10 conversions and Andre and Travis for scoring four tries each.
