Fun at the Landowners Picnic Thanks go out to our valued Metamora Landowners who joined us this past weekend for a delightful picnic. Helena Baker did a masterful job in organizing the event and the food and conversation were wonderful. We thought that you all would enjoy viewing some of Peter Gilles' photos that were taken during the evening The hunt season will begin with the Youth Hunt on August 6th, but other events have kept us busy around the countryside. Landowners and Hunt Members have been hard at work trimming trails not only for the season, but for the Hunter Pace on July 22. We again want to thank the landowners who continue to allow us to cross their property during the season. All riders should remember that the land in hunt country is privately owned and as a courtesy to landowners please make sure you have permission to ride out on non-hunt days. We are also grateful to Helena Baker and her team who made this year s Landowners Picnic an enormous success. Everyone who attended gave the event nothing but rave revues.

Please try to join us at upcoming events to celebrate our 90th year in Metamora Hunt Country. Additional News: Summer Hunter Pace - July 22. Pony Club News By Lisa McCormack Pony Club had a very busy June beginning with a meeting at Apple Grove Farm on the 5th. The adults planned for future events and the clubbers learned about setting up for a rally. A few days later we had a mounted meeting at Matador Farm with Jessica Filiatrault. Jessica taught a lesson on stadium jumping in her indoor arena to Kaila, Moriah, Ella, Chelsea and our new member Olivia. Riders will be started after registration in teams of 2-4. If you do not have a team, we will be happy to make one for you. Ribbons will be awarded to 1st. through 6th. place teams in both the Fastest time and the Optimum time divisions. Then it was all about the rallies! First up was the Show Jumping rally at Albion June 16-17. Moriah,

Chelsea and Lauren were on the Never Out Foxed team and came in 2nd for Horse Management and 6th for Show Jumping. This was the first rally for Chelsea and Lauren and they had a great time! Next at the same location was the dressage rally from June 18-19. Moriah participated as a stable manager for a team made up of other club members in the region. Moriah s team came in 1st for Horse Management and 1st for Dressage. Moriah also was awarded the traveling Amber Bryan Platinum Pail Award given to a clubber who excelled at the Dressage Rally in stable management and leadership. Last but not least was the Event Rally held in conjunction with the Honey Run Horse Trials in Ann Arbor on June 23-24. We sent a full team from our club made up of Kaila, Alison, Ella, Kalin and Leah. Our team was named Equine Divine and they came in 2nd for Horse Management and 1st for Eventing! Congratulations to all of our club members on their many awesome achievements!! To finish off our busy month, the parents had another meeting on June 26 at Kingsbury School. We worked on finishing up many of the final details of Regional Camp. Our club is in charge of the hospitality piece of Regional Camp. Kingsbury School has very generously allowed us to house all of the July campers at their beautiful gym free of charge! The cost to ride in the Hunter Pace is $45 per adult, $35 per junior (17 and under). Cash or checks made to Metamora Hunt are acceptable payment. An approved helmet, with chin strap fastened, must be worn at all times while mounted.
