I say it is about time. I am tired of rain wrinkles. Chris and crew put on a great fun filled day with, great food and loaded cards Thank you Chris and all the people that made this happen. April is looking good as Mad Dog and David have some fun events planned for all of us; such as the,, Club work party, Pre Opening day social and Opening Day; the last two being the first weekend of May. Jerry and Colleen Zitkovich along with Mike & Lisa Haistings, Gary & Donna Sheneman, Bob & Cindy Josephson and David & Carol Cass are decorating the Kelly Girl for the Open- ing day parade. This will be our first float in over a decade. It will be on our dock Friday May 6 th for final construction. Please call Jerry or Colleen if you would like to help. Good luck Kelly Girl and worker bees. Safe boating to you all and may the sun shine on you always! 4/2 Ben Paschall 4/3 Tim Novy 4/4 Kimberly Haistings 4/8 Kevin Haistings 4/10 Jodie Paine 4/12 Kathy Gano 4/12 Claire Pickard 4/12 Colleen Zitkovich 4/13 Steve Barrett 4/15 Bill Dils 4/15 Ronald Vukonich 4/16 Lance Loomis 4/18 Tom O'Day 4/22 Janet Josephson 4/23 Senta Barrett 4/23 Joyce Carlson 4/24 Kevin Carlson 4/26 Rodney Jong 4/26 Michael Plumb 4/28 Sharon Moore Vice Commodore s Report - Peggy Allen Boating season is upon us! The days are longer, the temperature is rising, and it is time to get out on the water. In fact, we ve already begun with the Poker Run. Thanks to Chris Kullman for organizing this annual event. Coming up is the. Jerry and Colleen Zitkovich, Bob and Cindy Josephson, and Dave and Carol Cass have a great week-end in store for us. This is a great way to start the season and to enjoy our Outstation. The scheduled for the first week in April has been cancelled. Because of all the hard work that has been accomplished over the past several years what remains can be accomplished without a full work party. The PSYC Clubhouse Work Party is still on for April 30 which is the last Saturday before Opening Day. We could use as much help as we can get. This is our annual spring cleaning and preparation for Opening Day. We need carpentry, cleaning, organizing, gardening, and general maintenance skills. It s really true that many hands make light work. Please plan to pitch in. Pat Hansen has assumed the role of Dock Master. I wish to express my gratitude to Patrick Kolanda for his time in this role and his great contribution in the maintenance of the dock and surrounding area. His time and efforts are greatly appreciated. I, along with many others on the bridge, will not be at the April meeting. We will be participating in, departing San Diego on our way to Vancouver BC. Bill Dils and Mad Dog will be holding down the bridge. Be kind to them.

Before diving in, I want to send thanks to Judy Quick and Trina Holm for putting together a wonderful New Member Open House at the end of February. Several potential members attended and I especially enjoyed the slide show. It was great looking back to some of last year s highlights. We plan to run the slide show for all members before the May meeting (during cocktails and dinner) so everyone can get a chance to see the show. March also brought a great semi-official social. Thanks to the generosity of members Scott Chambers and Michele Peachy Gay, all of PSYC was invited to their 5 th annual St. Paddy s Day party. PSYC s crowd of more than 25 members ate, drank and watched some amazing glass blowing. Our own Paul Smith won the Martini contest. His entry included sweet and sour, triple sec, and chai tea. Rumors of bribery are strongly denied by the judges, including our own Mad Dog Thompson. Trina has posted pictures from the event on the web here: 2011 SOCIAL CALENDAR http://tinyurl.com/ psyc2011stpaddy Admiralette Bonni Foti led a group from the Seattle Yacht Club to talk about Opening Day. This year s them is Treasures of the Salish Sea. As usual, their presentation very entertaining. Admiralette Foti read an impressive list of PSYC accomplishments from Opening Days past. She also noted that it has been 10 years since PSYC has entered a decorated boat in the parade. While there isn t much time, rumor has it that Jerry and Colleen Zitovitch have put together a team to decorate their 4788 and enter it in the parade! The Rosters are here! After months of hard work, the 2011 Rosters arrived just in time for the March meeting. We will be handing out Rosters at the next several meetings rather than sending them in the mail. If you are unable to make it to the meeting or would prefer that we mail one to you, please send a note to Nancy Morton (nancym@mortonmanor.co m) or give her a call at 206.226.0974. I d like to thank everyone who helped put together this year s roster. It is a herculean effort to compile, edit and print the nearly 100 pages and almost 50 advertisers. Key members of the Roster team (besides me) include Nancy Morton, Trina Holm, Brian Barrett, Jerry Zitovitch, Mike Hastings and Rochelle Gray, Kevin Carlson and Bill Allen. Special thanks also to Joyce Carlson, Sharon Moore, Pat Hanson and others for their sharp eyes and swift proof reading. Finally, you might notice a lot of people will be missing when the April general meeting rolls around. Some 20 members, including more than half the Bridge, will be having a grand time at this year s on the High Seas. Don t forget to join the conversation on the PSYC Facebook page. It is a great place to talk about boating or anything else of interest to our members.
