General Information St Catherine s holiday programs aim to provide a safe and stimulating environment where children can go during the holidays to play, relax and learn new skills. All our programs are open to students of the school, siblings, boys and girls in the community. We offer a range of programs including multi-activity, sport specific, educational, creative and performing arts programs. The standard opening hours are from 9am- 3.30pm with the main activities on offer from 9.30am. Busy working parents can take advantage of our early and late clubs, no matter what program they are taking, which extend the day from 7.30am-6pm at an additional charge. DATES Week 1: Monday 10 December - Friday 14 December EARLY AND LATE CLUBS (Available all holidays for anyone attending holiday programs). Balancing family life with holiday programs, work and other commitments can be challenging. We endeavour to support working families that face the challenge of supervising their children outside of the program times by providing early and late clubs at an extra cost. This service operates daily from 7.30am-9am and 3.30pm-6pm. It is important that all children are collected no later than 6pm, otherwise a penalty of $10 for each 15 minutes will be applied to cover staffing costs. Booking Information Bookings cannot be made without full payment at the time of booking. All registration details (including special needs, emergency contacts and authorisations) must be completed before bookings can be accepted. Please advise staff in writing of any changes. There are no refunds, credits or transfers for days booked and paid for without a medical certificate. Refund requests must be made in writing to the director of sport and BTC with attached medical certificate, which must be received no later than two weeks after the holiday period. Program hours are to be strictly adhered to. Please ensure participants arrive, enrol and are collected on time to avoid any late fee. St Catherine s School reserves the right to cancel programs if there are insufficient enrolments at no cost to the participants. Students aged 12 or under must be collected by the adult nominated on the online booking form. Notice must be given in writing if they are to be collected by anyone else. Students over 12 are allowed to leave unaccompanied, providing written permission is given for them to do so. Drop-off is in the Jane Barker Hall, with parking available in St Johns car park. Everyday Programs Weeks 1-5 J4F (JUST FOR FUN) Everyday Boys and girls aged 5+ 9.30am-3.30pm $50 a day or $225 for the week (5 days) (Extra $25 charge for excursion day - Wednesdays) J4F (Just for fun) is a multi-activity program offering a wide range of activities to suit all ages and interests. These activities vary from sports to performing and creative arts and offer girls and boys a great opportunity to try out new activities in a safe environment surrounded by supportive and experienced staff. Our program enhances the development of skills, knowledge and understanding in physical, social and emotional, and intellectual areas. Through the fun and exciting experiences that we plan for our students on the holiday program, we strive for students to develop positive attitudes towards a physically active lifestyle, nurture relationships with their peers and improve their overall self-esteem and leadership skills. We want to encourage our students to challenge and question the world around them and outside of the classroom setting. SPRING SPORTS CAMP COMBOS Summer Sports Camp + Just 4 Fun 9.30am - 3.30pm $65 a day Available every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Summer Sports Camp - All day 9.30am - 3.30pm $65 a day Available every Wednesday. J4F EXCURSIONS Once a week on a Wednesday, all girls and boys will attend an excursion. There will be an additional charge of $25 on these days which will cover the cost of the activity, transport if needed and an excursion t-shirt for the day. No late bookings for an excursion day will be accepted, please book no later than the Wednesday prior to the excursion. Please note that the excursion is the only J4F option on Wednesdays, and numbers are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment. 12 December - Event Cinemas, Bondi Junction 19 December - Sky Climb, Alexandria 9 January - Strike Bowling, Entertainment Quarter 16 January - Garden Bug Hunt, Botanical Gardens 23 January - Cool Cats, Randwick Summer Sports Camp - Half day Everyday Monday 10 December - Friday 25 January Boys and girls aged 5+ 9.30am - 12.30pm $45 a day Step into summer these holidays with our summer sports, boys and girls of all ages and skill levels are welcome to come along, get moving and make some new friends. Students will complete various drills, skill progressions and games to improve their fundamental sports skills such as coordination, agility, speed and balance as well as focus on specific skills for one or more of the following sports each day; tennis, netball, cricket, AFL, soccer and gymnastics.

Week 1 Monday 10 December - Friday 14 December Beading & Jewellery Design Monday 10 December Boys and girls aged 5+ 9.30am- 3.30pm $65 Spend the day beading with your friends learning about the effective use of patterns, colour and composition as well as using a variety of jewellery findings, beads and tools to create custom designed and unique beaded jewellery pieces for yourself or to give as a gift. Excursion! Sweet treats - Christmas edition Tuesday 11 December Boys and girls aged 5+ 9.30am-3.30pm $65 Does your child have a sweet tooth and love to help out in the kitchen? Our sweets treats workshop is an introduction cooking learning about kitchen safety and food preparation and handling as students prepare some simple but delicious Christmas treats. Limited places available, book early to avoid disappointment. J4F excursion Event Cinema, Bondi Junction (Please note that the excursion is the only J4F option on Wednesdays) Wednesday 12 December Boys and girls aged 5+ 9.30am-3.30pm $75 We ll head off with our friends to Event Cinemas, Bondi Junction to see the new edition of The Grinch! Festive Christmas craft Thursday 13 December Boys and girls aged 5-8 9.30am 3.30pm $65 Inspired by the festive season, we will spend the day making colourful and creative Christmas decorations and ornaments. We will cut, stick, thread and construct unique handmade Christmas decorations incorporating a variety of techniques and materials including beading, foil etching, collage, construction and painting. Gymnastics Jamberoo Friday 14 December Boys and girls aged 5+ 9.30am 3.30pm $65 Our gymnastics jamberoo is for everyone. Our workshops will develop strength, flexibility and coordination while building confidence in body movement. The program will comprise a variety of activities including both men s and women s artistic and rhythmic gymnastics apparatus and skills.

Week 2 Monday 17 December - Friday 21 December Christmas screen printing - MULTIDAY Monday 17 December & Tuesday 18 December Boys and girls aged 8+ 9.30am 3.30pm $130 for 2 days (Students must enrol in both days of the program) We will learn about the screen printing process and create a Christmas theme two colour design to screen print. Each child will screen print their own unique tea towel which will make the perfect Christmas gift for someone special. We ll complete this beautiful gift by experimenting with printmaking techniques to create original wrapping paper and a festive Christmas card. Excursion! J4F excursion Sky Climb, Alexandria (Please note that the excursion is the only J4F option on Wednesdays) Wednesday 19 December Boys and girls aged 5+ 9.30am-3.30pm $75 We re off for a visit to Sky Climb in Alexandria! Students will have the opportunity to learn basic climb skills and have almost two hours to perfect the art of climbing. Our friends at Sky Climb will also provide the students with a comprehensive safety briefing to ensure that we are all safe while completing our climb. Come and join us for a day of adventure and fun!

Masterchef MULTIDAY Christmas special Thursday 20 December & Friday 21 December Boys and girls aged 7+ 9.30am 3.30pm $130 for 2 days (Students must enrol in both days of the program) The Masterchef program is a unique opportunity for children interested in cooking to learn the basic skills and techniques needed to embark on a lifetime love of cooking. Limited places available, book early to avoid disappointment. Hip hop happnin Tuesday 8 January Boys and girls 5+ 9.30am 3.30pm $65 Do you love to bust a move? Our hip hop happnin workshop will allow students to practice and perfect dance techniques to win any dance battle. Centred around popping and locking to some fun beats, students will explore old school and commercial hip hop to expand their range of skills on the dance floor. Students will also have a friendly dance battle to see who will be crowned the King or Queen of hip hop. J4F excursion Strike Bowling, Entertainment Quarter (Please note that the excursion is the only J4F option on Wednesdays) Wednesday 9 January Boys and girls aged 5+ 9.30am-3.30pm $75 We re off to Strike at the Entertainment Quarter! We hope you re ready to let loose on the lanes, listen to music and have loads of fun! We ll be playing ten-pin bowling and laser tag, while dancing along to the cool tunes. Come along and join us for a day full of fun, laughs, dancing and hopefully bowl a strike or two! Limited places available, book early to avoid disappointment. Excursion!

I-AM-A-ROBOT Thursday 10 January Boys and girls aged 5-8 9.30am 3.30pm $65 Using multi-media we will create a robot artwork to hang up at home. We will design and construct a robot using a wide variety of materials and techniques including printmaking, collage, construction and drawing. We will make a mono print and use reverse garbage bits and pieces as part of the creative process to construct a quirky and unique little robot artwork. Mr. Miyagi masterclass Friday 11 January Boys and girls aged 5+ 9.30am 3.30pm $65 A day dedicated to mastering the art of mindfulness and zen-ing out! This wholesome workshop will provide the basic skills required to begin weaving the practice of mindfulness into every-day life. Based around mindfulness exercises including guided mediation, stretching and breathing, the students will also be participating in games and activities that incorporate these skills. We will also learn how to use mindfulness to keep ourselves safe and healthy by covering some basic self-defence manoeuvres. Week 4 Monday 14 January - Friday 18 January Excursion! J4F excursion Garden Bug Hunt, Botanical Gardens (Please note that the excursion is the only J4F option on Wednesdays) Wednesday 16 January Boys and girls aged 5+ 9.30am-3.30pm $75 We are off to explore the Botanical Gardens, now that summer has arrived so have the bugs! Students will explore the garden and help scientists record the distinctive calls of cicadas, search for beetles and stick insects and investigate what makes Australia s insects truly unique. Using these unique features students will craft their own bug to take home. Come and join us for some creepy crawly fun in the sun. Funky Tie-Dye - MULTIDAY Summer sports + combos Everyday - half day or full day for boys and girls aged 5+ 9.30am- 3.30pm $45/$65 Program information in front of booklet. Thursday 17 January and Friday 18 January Boys and girls aged 8+ 9.30am - 3.30pm $130 for 2 days Students must enrol for both days of the program Back by popular demand in this fun and colourful two day workshop we will experiment with the wild and wonderful world of tie-dye. Children will tie-dye their own individual T-shirt and eco-bag. We will learn about different techniques and look at how to create a variety of vibrant effects including folding, twisting, pleating and tying to make original, bright and bold, one-of-a-kind tie-dye designs.

Triple threat on set - MULTIDAY Monday 14 January Wednesday 16 January Boys and girls aged 5+ 9.30am-3.30pm $195 for 3 days (Students must enrol in all 3 days of the program) This summer holidays St Catherine s is proud to present the next instalment in our series of triple threat on set workshops which are designed to give students the experience of being on the set rehearsing and starring in a musical theatre performance. Students will work in ensemble groups and participate in a series of fun and energetic workshops to produce their chorus numbers and scenes with our shows director and assistants culminating in a review for parents and friends on the final day. Students will gain skills in singing technique, stage craft, different dance styles and confidence as they strive to become a true Triple Threat. Week 5 Tuesday 21 January - Friday 25 January I m a survivor Monday 21 January Boys and girls aged 5+ 9.30am-3.30pm $65 Students will be thinking they are a contestant on Survivor or Ninja Warrior as they are teamed up to compete in a series of games and challenges that will test them both physically and mentally. Our I m a survivor workshop is designed to foster leadership, team work and cooperation skills whilst providing students with some basic outdoor survival skills. Do you have what it takes to survive? The human body Thursday 24 January Boys and girls aged 5+ 9.30am 3.30pm $65 Students will complete a range of activities and challenges that will help them understand the wonderful way in which our body works. This biological workshop will teach, excite and challenge the way that students understand the human body. Students will learn about the many different systems operating in their body and how to ensure they are the healthiest they can be.
