GUISBOROUGH CRICKET CLUB NEWSLETTER FEBRUARY 2018 Dear Club Member Many thanks to all those that came to the AGM and supported the Committee in taking the Club forward for another year. We would still like to have feedback from you about the refurbishment for the club. Barrie Westbrook has set up a group to take this forward, so if you are interested in being part of the this, then please get in touch with him by email: barrie.westbrook@outlook.com or contact the Club. Barrie has set up two groups one for the structure of the Club, the other for decor and fittings, so your input would be valued for either. I would also like to thanks Russell Smith for providing an article for the Squash section as always if anyone is interested in contributing to the Newsletter it would be most welcome - are there any aspiring journalists or cartoonists out there? I have also included details about the forthcoming sessions for the Retired Men s Forum who meet in the Function Room at the Cricket Club on Monday mornings, so hope that this will also be of interest. Thanks Inside this issue: Sarah Terry Squash 2 200 Club, Dominoes 3 Retired Men s Forum 3 Quizzes 3 Quiz Taster Questions 4 For data protection purposes please let me know if you no longer wish to receive this newsletter Contact details 4 Membership details 6-7

Always wanted to try out Squash or are you returning to the game? Then, why not join us at our weekly Sunday club night?! Squash is great exercise and a competitive way of working up a sweat and keeping fit. You can find us to the right of the bar, upstairs, players start arriving around 6pm and we play 15-20 minute games, rotating, so there is a good variety of matches to be had and all standards of players are welcome! Come and try it out - it's free and if you enjoy it why not think about joining the Squash club to play regularly with other members (See our Chair, Terry, Simon or any of the regular members for details. We're a friendly bunch and it's an informal evening - You might even get to meet some of the 'stars' of the club: look out for 'Bam, Bam' causing a storm on the court, or the 'lobbinator' serving his demon serves or the double-handers of the resident Tennis player! It would be great to see more players come and have a game - see you there?!' Russell Smith The next home matches for Squash are: Tues 6 March Guisborough 1 v Yarm 1 Thurs 8 March Guisborough 2 v Norton 3 Tue 13 March Guisborough 1 v Darlington 1 Wed 14 March Guisborough 3 v Norton 6 Thu 22 March Guisborough 2 v Sedgefield 2 Tues 27 March Guisborough 1 v Redcar 1 Wed 28 March Guisborough 3 v Nunthorpe 3 Please come and cheer our team on!
