PRESIDENT S MESSAGE INSIDE THIS ISSUE Upcoming Events 4 Spring Tour Photos 5 Car Show Notices 6 Classifieds & Notices 8-9 Caption Contest 9 Name That Vehicle 10 Hello Everybody, Our car show is right around the corner, and we are still scrambling for enough judges. Should we change the format of the show, the type of judging, or maybe other aspects of the show? We talked a little about this at the last meeting and we'll talk more at the next meeting, after this year's show. Could we do something different to eliminate problems and still have a nice day and make some money? Everybody's input will be appreciated. See you soon, Jan ANNUAL NHHAC ANTIQUE & CLASSIC CAR SHOW Sunday, June 2, 2013 Members: Please pre-register your car(s) for the show. There is no fee for member cars, but we need to know how many to plan for and what years will be represented. Contact Jennie at nhhacnews@yahoo.com or 412-486-2767.

NHHAC NEWS June 2013 Page 5 Spring tour, April 21 2013 - by Cathy Paine The tour met at Steve's Barber Shop. We huddled in the shop to stay warm. Even though it was chilly, the sun was out so we had a wonderful day to travel. We had good directions, beautiful scenery and good roads (except for that one little cliff). We stopped at Seton Hill for brunch where the food was good and plentiful. Steve mapped out a nice tour that took us to our final stop for ice cream. Thanks to Steve, we all had a great time. Pearls of Wisdom Why is a car's windshield so large and the rear view mirror so small? Because our past is not as important as our future. So, look ahead and move on! Submitted by Joan Artzberger

NHHAC NEWS June 2013 Page 6 CAR SHOW JUDGES STILL NEEDED As you know, our annual car show is just around the corner, June 2, 2013. We still need a few more judges to make the event go smoothly. At the request of several members we will have a judging school on May 28 th starting at 7:00 PM to cover the basics of judging. If you are new to judging or just need a refresher you are welcome. The school will be held at Pat O Neill s garage and business. If you are not familiar with the location contact Pat or myself for directions. Please bring a folding chair and something to write with. NHHAC NEWS June 2013 Page 7 Thanks to Lou Gamber for being the first member to submit a series of interesting old car facts. Enjoy! Q: What was the first official White House car? A: A 1909 White Steamer, ordered by President Taft. Are you paying for "stacked" insurance coverage but not getting it? Debby Mueller pointed out a recent court case (Grudkowski v. Foremost Ins. Co., NO. 3; CV-12-1847 M.D. Pa. March 5, 2013) as a basis for asking this question of your insurer. Arlene Grudkowski had separate insurance policies for an antique car, a classic car, and personal cars. She was in an accident which did not involve her antique or classic car, and filed a claim based on the stacked coverage for uninsured and uninsured motorists which was part of the policy she had been paying for several years. Foremost Insurance Co. pointed to a provision in her antique and classic car policies which stated that she or a member of her family had to "occupy" one of those cars in order to receive stacked benefits. The court acknowledged that the insurance company is being paid for "illusory" coverage, but leaves it for the legislature or insurance commissioner to address. Here s another gem from Joan & Bill Artzberger: America is like one of those old fashioned six cylinder truck engines that can be missing two spark plugs and have a broken flywheel and have a crankshaft that's five hundred millimeters off fitting properly, and two bad ball bearings, and still runs." Thomas McGuane
