Taft Sportsmen s Club Page 5 Practiscore Match Software The Taft Sport Shooters recently learned about a ipad/android app that integrates with the Internet to provide complete and accurate match score reporting. Practiscore can track your competitor s results in real time and publish the match results online with the click of a button. TSS plans to loan the ipads to the.22 Action Shooters and also use the ipads for taking credit cards at the Fireworks and Sporting Clays shoots. The TSS learned about the software and had purchased three ipads later that week. They used it in the last IDPA match and the scores were posted online by about noon immediately after the match was over. TSS score guy Wesley Morris reported, The whole program is a huge step forward in scoring. You can pre-register for the matches and start squadding and the results are fast and accurate. Page 6 Taft Sportsmen s Club Taft Shooters Challenge 2014 The 3 rd Annual Taft Shooter s Challenge (TSC) 2014 will be held on Saturday November 29, 2014 at the Taft Sportsmen s Club Range. The Taft Shooter s Challenge is a timed, team shooting competition that also incorporates Geocaching into the course of fire. Geocaching is a global treasure hunt that involved hiding geocaches and posting their coordinates online for other geocachers to find. The TSC involves four stages of shooting a.22 LR rifle or pistol. When the competitor completes a stage of shooting, the team is given the coordinates of a nearby Geocache that they must go find. After finding the Geocache and the secret code phrase in the Geocache, they return to the Taft Sportsmen s Club Range and once confirmed are allowed to go on to the next shooting stage. The team that completes all four stages in the fastest time wins. There will be two competition classes: rookie and veteran. The rookie class will involve easier Geocaches to find and the veteran class will involve more difficult Geocaches. There will be first through third place trophies for each class as well as individual shooting awards for the fastest shooters on each stage. There will also be first to find prizes in each Geocache. The cost is $40 per team and you can have teams of 1-4 people. All ammunition and firearms are provided with your $40 entry fee. You can find more information on our Taft Sportsmen s Club website, Facebook, or at http://coord.info/gc5bqt2. Scenes from Taft Shooter s Challenge 2013.
