A hybridisation between a sponsorship and a competition was proposed making it exciting yet helping with financing for the assessment project. Further more, the club s participation in the SARCA competition again highlights the club striving to successfully achieve a few of their main objectives, namely: 1.1.1 To further the conservation of herpetofauna in South Africa. 1.1.2 To encourage conservation of wildlife in general and of herpetofauna in particular. 1.1.3 To achieve closer cooperation and understanding between amateur and professional herpetologists so that they may work together in the common cause of furthering science. 1.1.4 To participate and be part of herpetological projects that may take place in the Province. 2.1 SARCA - Southern African Reptile Conservation Assessment 2.2 CRC - Cape Reptile Club 3.0 References 4.0 Appendix 3.1 SARCA Web Site - http://www.saherps.net/ 3.2 CRC Web Site - http://www.capereptileclub.co.za/ 4.1 Appendix A - Example Template (Trip 1, Logistics) 5.0 SARCA and CRC Representatives 5.1 Marius Burger (SARCA Project Herpetologist) will be the liaison between the CRC and SARCA. 5.2 Marcel Witberg (CRC Secretary) will be heading this competition from the CRC s side.
