I am always amazed at what a well-oiled machine our club is...meaning that there are always those same people who show-up, step-up and get the job done. Those members are the ones that have historically made it easy for the rest of us to enjoy the outings & hunts. (Thanks to you...you know who you are!) Now it s time for the rest of us to give these seasoned members a break. It s time for us to volunteer to do our part at each and every club function. So...with the National Hunt around the corner your help is needed! Try to volunteer in some way, whether it be helping to bury coins, assisting in the concessions, selling bingo tickets, checking cards at bingo, covering tables, setting up chairs, emptying trash containers, collecting camping fees, picking up trash, etc. Just jump in there and support your club! Ok...I m getting off my soapbox. It s time for me to follow my own advise! --- Newsletter editor Bill Watkins.

With no extra cost to you, you have been putting a good amount in the club's Amazon Associate Account. Just remember to click to Amazon through the link on the ITTHC Homepage before searching for & purchasing your item and the club will get credit. Again a Big Thank You to all of you that have already purchased through the ITTHC Homepage link to Amazon. Tell all of your friends, relatives, and fellow treasure hunters around the country. Below is what the Amazon Associate link looks like and where it is located on the ITTHC Homepage: Effective March 20, 2014 the Prime membership went from $79 to $99.

5 I.T.T.H.C. Treasure News Page 5 This article was donated by Cody Reese Metal Detecting reminds me of fishing The old timers know all the good spots. The best spots are off Limits. You have to get a permit. Some days you come home empty handed. Some days you come home with the Big One There is always newer, bigger, better equipment than yours. Your buddy always gets the one that got away. The stories get better with time. The one thing you need is back at home. You have to clean your catch. The worst day out in the field is better than the best day working! 7 I.T.T.H.C. Treasure News Page 7 Coal Mine Outing Report for March 29 th, 2014 The ITTHC outing returning to the coal mine area in the McAlester area on March 29 th was another fun one. There were 14 ITTHC members in attendance and the weather was perfect. A high temperature of 68 and plenty of sunshine. In fact this is the earliest in year I have been sunburned in a long time. We started in a new area on the West end of the property. Not a lot of period items found, but LOTS of modern bullets. Seems a local had been using this area for a shooting range until the landowner put a stop to it. New member Joe McKinney did find an iron stirrup in this area. We are claiming it to be a "Confederate" stirrup. That s our story and we are sticking to it. After lunch we moved back to the area we had hunted in January. John Freeman found a short base black powder shotgun shell that had "Robinhood 1903" and 1903 was the date. We had never seen that brand before. And again many found at least one miner s check. Other assorted mining related items and household items from the camp houses were found. And again there were more coins found than I expected. There was a Standing Liberty Quarter (no date), a Mercury Dime, Nickels, Indian Head Cents, and Lincoln Cents found in what was reported. This time there were at least a couple of tokens found. The best one I saw was Cody s "W. D. WOLLEY" "GOOD FOR 5 IN TRADE" which is listed in the new Oklahoma token book in the "Maverick" section under Adamson. This is the third or fourth one found in this area. The late ITTHC member Jim Simmons found one of them in this general area. So it can probably be safely said that this is an Adamson token.
