Class Information AHCT State Fair Horse Show EVERY CLASS OFFERED HEREIN, WHICH IS COVERED BY THE RULES & SPECIFICATIONS OF CURRENT USEF RULE BOOK, WILL BE CONDUCTED AND JUDGED IN ACCORDANCE THEREWITH. National Qualifications All classes shown during the whole show can be used for qualifying to US Nationals. Late Qualify & Post Entries for US Nationals close on September 19, 2017. If you are using a qualification earned at this show you must get a completed Verification of qualification form from the show office. All Classes in the Class Schedule are for Purebred Arabians unless designated otherwise: HA/AA Half/Anglo Arabian; Opportunity Open Breeds Are open to all Registered Horses; all Equitation is open to A/HA/AA Amateur To Ride/Handle ; All Walk-Trot Classes are open to A/HA/AA 10 years and under Leadline - Stallions are prohibited. Rider s age 2 to 6 years, the leader must be at least 14 years of age. Safety is of the utmost importance in tack and attire: Saddle must fit rider; rider s feet must be engaged in the stirrups/ irons; lead rein may be attached to a cavesson or halter placed under or over bridle; safety helmets, with chin straps, may be used by any rider regard-less of style of tack and/or attire; boots, long pants and long sleeve shirts are required (Res. 34-99). Leadline riders cannot cross-enter any other class in show. Leadline classes are exempt from AHA/USEF membership. Walk/Trot Pleasure and Equitation - 10 & Under - Open to riders 10 years of age and under. Stallions are prohibited. Riders must have never been judged in any class at an approved USEF or AHA competition that required a canter or lope. The safety of all exhibitors is the primary concern in these classes. Any action by any exhibitor that endangers any other exhibitor must be severely penalized or excused, at the judge s discretion. Proper attire is required per appropriate USEF rules. In equitation no tests will be called. Walk-Trot classes are exempt from USEF Membership. Halter Showmanship - Open to mares and geldings. NO STALLIONS. Driving - Headers are permitted but not mandatory. General Information, Rules & Regulations Entries - Entries close, August 16, 2017, those received after this date must possess a valid postmark earlier than August 17, 2016 or owner will be charged the post entry fee. All entries must be completed on an official entry form for this show and have included a valid check, money order or Valid Credit Card for the total show fees, Open signed check made payable to AHCT is acceptable. A horse may only be entered under the legal name of the owner; no horse may be entered on more than one entry form. A copy of the front and back of all appropriate registration papers for each horse must accompany entry. If registration papers do not reflect current legal owner, additional paperwork is required. Leased horses may not be shown in Amateur or Junior Owner classes. Leased horses may not be shown by the lessee unless the lessee and lessor are members of the same immediate family. Returned Checks/Declined Credit Cards (NSF): Exhibitor will be charged $100, in addition to bank charges assessed for NSF Checks. If payment is not received within Ten (10) days of notice given to clear amounts owed, plus NSF Fee and bank charges - exhibitor's name will be turned in to AHA and USEF, and will be unable to show until amounts owed are paid in full. Health Certificate, Vaccination Certificate & Coggins - Any horse entering the grounds must be accompanied by a current health certificate issued within 45 days by a licensed vet and presented at the Fairgrounds Entrance to the State of Texas Inspectors before animals may be unloaded on the property. Horses with any communicable disease must immediately leave the show grounds. A negative Coggins issued within 12 prior months is required for all horses. Out of State horses must have a 6 month Coggins. GR845 Equine Vaccination Rule (Effective December 1, 2015) 1. At Federation licensed competitions, horses entering the grounds must be accompanied by documentation of Equine Influenza Virus and Equine Herpes Virus (Rhinopneumonitis) vaccinations within six months prior to entering the stables. Horses not in compliance with this rule may be required to leave the competition grounds upon request by Competition Management. Documentation should consist of one of the following methods mentioned below. The frequency of vaccine administration should be per the vaccine manufacturers or veterinarian s recommendations. It is recommended that vaccines are administered by or under the direction of a veterinarian. 2. In the case of vaccines administered by a veterinarian, the exhibitor, upon request by Competition Management, must provide documentation from the veterinarian on documenting that the horse in question received the vaccinations; name of the vaccines and date of vaccine administration.

3. In the case of vaccines administered by a person other than a veterinarian, the exhibitor, upon request by Competition Management, must provide a receipt of the vaccine purchase which is signed by the owner, or agent with care, custody, and control of the horse; name, serial number and expiration date of the vaccine; and date of vaccine administration. 4. In the case of a horse that is unable to receive either of the vaccinations due to a history of adverse reactions, the exhibitor, upon request by Competition Management, must provide a letter from the veterinarian on official letterhead stating that the horse in question cannot be vaccinated due to medical concerns and a log of temperatures taken twice daily for the seven days prior to entering the competition grounds. These horses must also have their temperature taken and logged twice daily while on the competition grounds. The log of temperatures should be provided to the Competition Management, steward, or technical delegate when requested. 5. Competition Management may not amend or enhance vaccination requirements without prior approval of the Veterinary Committee Amateur Classes all riders in Amateur Classes MUST HAVE in their possession an Amateur Card issued by the USEF or make application for such card prior to riding in these classes. Applications are available at the Show Office. All Amateurs must be active members of the Federation. Cruelty or Abuse Cruelty or Abuse is forbidden anywhere on the grounds. The show committee shall penalize such actions (USEF Rule III, Art 302) Excessive harm to any horse (including harm caused by a whip or any other object) anywhere on the grounds before, during or after the show renders the offender subject to penalty. Judges shall enforce this policy in the show ring. A signed entry blank constitutes acceptance of this policy. Care of Animals Exhibitors are required to keep their animals as well as stalls clean and neat with refuse matter disposed of as the Horse Show Management may direct. Humane treatment must be exercised at all times by all exhibitors and their employees. Class Post Entries All added classes (classes not entered on original entry blank) must be entered ONE HOUR prior to the start of the class session you want to show in or you will be charged a $10.00 late entry fee. Class Scratches Any class scratched in the office ONE HOUR prior to the start of the session will have the class fee refunded. Dressage, Sport Horse In Hand, and Trail Class fees will not be refunded under any condition Discipline Any act of dishonesty, discourtesy or disobedience to any Show Official by an owner, trainer, groom or exhibitor will result in disqualification. Management may remove an owner/trainer/groom/exhibitor without liability. Dogs and Other Pets: No dogs are allowed in any stands, buildings, or arena areas. Dogs and other pets are not permitted to be loose on competition grounds and must be held on a leash or otherwise restrained. Individuals must not lead dogs on a leash while mounted. Dog owners are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from their dogs behaviors. Pet owners failing to comply with this rule will be issued a Yellow warning card and may be subject to penalty under Chapters 6 and 7. Drug Testing Rules: The Drugs and Medications Rules contained in Chapter IV (GR 47-58) of the USEF Rule Book and pamphlet will be enforced by examination by an appointed licensed veterinarian and skilled technicians who are agents of USEF and who must be treated with respect. The examination may include physical, urine, blood tests or any other tests or procedures in the discretion of said veterinarian necessary to effectuate the purposes of this rule. For every horse participating in any competition for research, inspection and enforcement of rules regarding use of medications and drugs; see GR208.1, GR407.1.2 and GR208.1). Number of Entries Show Management reserves the right to consolidate or cancel any class in which there are not at least three (3) entries. Classes containing over 25 entries will be split into two separate classes with the awarding of premium money and ribbons in each class. If class is split, riders and/or horses may not show in both classes. Responsibility All Entries are accepted with the understanding that neither the Arabian Horse Club of Texas nor the State Fair of Texas will be liable for any loss, injury or damage to horses, persons or any possessions while at the show. The authority of Show Management shall oversee all horses, although they remain the risk of the owner, exhibitor or trainer responsible for loss. Thus, the owner indemnifies the Arabian Horse Club of Texas and the State Fair of Texas against any and all loss, damage and/or liability including but not limited to legal costs incurred as a result. A signed entry form constitutes acceptance of this policy. Stalls and stall assignments Stalls are full box stalls of wooden construction and have doors. Stalls will be available at 8:00 AM on THURSDAY September 1, 2016 and must be vacated by 10:00PM SUNDAY September 4, 2016. EARLY ARRIVAL must be confirmed in advance and is available. Early Move-In or Late Move-Out fees will apply to any stall occupied other than these times at $25.00 per day/per stall. Stalls will be assigned by Show Management upon receipt of stall fees. REQUESTS FOR ADJOINING STALLS MUST STATE THE SAME STABLING NAME AND ARE NOT GUARANTEED, BUT WILL BE HONORED IF POSSIBLE. Exhibitors will be charged for any stalls they use for any reason. Show Post Entries Post entries for show will be accepted for horses after closing date of August 16, 2017 at the regular fees plus the per horse post entry fee of $35.00 (paid once per horse, not per class). NEW HORSES MUST BE ENTERED NO LATER THAN 2 HOURS BEFORE THE PERFORMANCE SESSION THEY ARE TO BE SHOWN IN OR YOU WILL BE CHARGED A Courtesy fee $75.

Stallions - Stallions may be shown by ladies and children, except in Junior Halter Showmanship, Leadline, and Walk/Trot classes. Scratches - Official notice must be received by Thursday, August 31, 2017. Scratch Notices accompanied by a vet certificate will receive all fee s less the office fee. Scratches without a vet certificate will receive class fees only. It is the exhibitor s responsibility to notify the show office during the show of any or all refunds due. Refunds will be applied to Show Account. Refund checks are mailed 30 days after the end of the show. Footing is red sandy loam and clay. The main arena is 120 x 240. New Pavillion Arena is 100 x 240 New Indoor Warm-up is 90 X 90 (reserved as next class only during show) Wash Rack Washing of horses in any other location than wash racks provided, is prohibited. Governing Organizations - This show is conducted in accordance with the rules of the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF), the Arabian and Half-Arabian/Anglo-Arabian Divisions (AR), The English Pleasure Division (EP), The Dressage Division (DR), the Western Dressage Division (WD). The official rules of these organizations shall prevail; any change or correction of these rules automatically becomes part of this premium. Each participant is subject to all rules as they apply. Any questions not covered by the rule books of these organizations shall be decided by the Show Committee, whose decision will be final. Registration Requirements: Arabians: Horses shown in this division must have been issued a certificate of registration from the Arabian Horse Registry of America, Inc., and/or the Canadian Arabian Horse Registry, or, if under one year of age, be eligible for registry and registration applied for (Exception: Art. 1699V.1) and must be en-tered under their full registered name. (Only weanlings that have had registration applied for may show without registration papers.) A copy of the registration papers showing proof of ownership must be submitted with entry form at the time of making entries. Competition management is responsible for notifying exhibitors of this require-ment. Half-Arabians: Horses shown in this section must have been issued a certificate of registration from the Arabian Horse Association in the Half-Arabian or the Anglo-Arabian Registry, or have been issued an Arabian Horse Association (Canadian Partbred Arabian Registry) CPAR PERMIT, or if under one year of age, be eligible for registry and registration applied for and must be entered under their full registered name. Important: A photocopy of the registration papers (do not send originals) must accompany each entry. Entries without these copies will be charged $25 for an Incomplete Entry. All required AHA and USEF membership numbers must be on the entry form, and photocopies of current cards must be included with each entry. Numbers will not be assigned unless entry forms are complete. Incomplete Entries will be charged $25.00 GR1309.2.b states, If an exhibitor does not submit the proper membership documentation to the competition and the competition cannot verify such information, the exhibitor will be responsible to pay a $30 non-member fee which is nonrefundable. Amateur must also have proof of status or shall join at the show and pay a $55 membership fee. Competition Level Membership cards are required, or a single-event membership must be purchased for AHA $35.00 and USEF $30.00 USEF Membership Requirements: Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $30 Show Pass fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot (exception: Friesian performance FR218) and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11)assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes. FEDERATION ENTRY AGREEMENT By entering a Federation-licensed Competition and signing this entry blank as the Owner, Lessee, Trainer, Manager, Agent, Coach, Driver, Rider, Handler, Vaulter or Longeur and on behalf of myself and my principals, representatives, employees and agents, I agree that I am subject to the Bylaws and Rules of The United States Equestrian Federation, Inc. (the Federation ) and the local rules of The State Fair of Texas. I agree to be bound by the Bylaws and Rules of the Federation and of the competition. I will accept as final the decision of the Hearing Committee on any question arising under the Rules, and agree to release and hold harmless the competition, the Federation, their officials, directors and employees for any action taken under the Rules. I represent that I am eligible to enter and/or participate under the Rules, and every horse I am entering is eligible as entered. I also agree that as a condition of and in consideration of acceptance of entry, the Federation and/or the Competition may use or assign photographs, videos, audios, cable - casts, broadcasts, internet, film, new media or other likenesses of me and my horse taken during the course of the competition for the promotion, coverage or benefit of the competition, sport, or the Federation. Those likenesses shall not be used to advertise a product and they may not be used in such a way as to jeopardize amateur status. I hereby expressly and irrevocably waive and release any rights in connection with such use, including any claim to compensation, invasion of privacy, right of publicity, or to is appropriation. The construction and application of Federation rules are governed by the laws of the State of New York, and any action instituted against the Federation must be filed in New York State. See GR908.4.

AHA MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT EACH COMPETITOR (THIS INCLUDES AT LEAST ONE RECORDED OWNER AND ALL TRAINERS, DRIVERS, RIDERS, HALTER HANDLERS, COACHES AND THE PERSON(S) SIGNING THE ENTRY BLANK) IN AN ARABIAN HORSE ASSOCIATION RECOGNIZED ARABIAN DIVISION, AT THE TIME OF ENTRY INTO A COMPETITION, MUST SUBMIT A COPY OF A VALID AHA MEMBERSHIP/COMPETITION CARD, JOIN AHA OR PAY AN AHA SINGLE EVENT MEMBERSHIP FEE PER COMPETITOR. WHEN AN AGENT SIGNS FOR THE OWNER AT AN AHA RECOGNIZED COMPETITION, BOTH THE OWNER AND AGENT MUST BE MEMBERS OF AHA OR PAY THE AHA SINGLE EVENT MEMBERSHIP. SINGLE EVENT MEMBERSHIP IS NOT ACCEPTABLE AT AHA REGIONAL OR NATIONAL COMPETITIONS. EXHIBITORS IN WALK-TROT CLASSES ARE EXEMPT FROM AHA MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS AT QUALIFYING COMPETITIONS, BUT MUST HAVE AN AHA MEMBERSHIP WITH COMPETITION CARD AT AHA REGIONAL AND NATIONAL COMPETITIONS. EXHIBITORS IN LEAD LINE CLASSES OR PARENTS/GUARDIANS SIGNING FOR MINORS ARE EXEMPT FROM AHA MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS. (BOD 5/12) Motorized Vehicle Statement: Minors who do not have a valid driver's license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but no t limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver's license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actio ns resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s ), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabi lities are exempt from this rule. Opportunity Open Breed Classes will use the English Pleasure Division rules from the USEF Rule Book where they apply. Horses may be of any breed or combination of breeds. All classes are open to horses and ponies. Horses must be serviceably sound, and in good condition. Animals with complete loss of sight in one eye may be found serviceably sound at the judge's discretion. The use of artificial appliances or devices such as chains, shackles, rubber bands, blinkers (except when driving) or blindfolds is prohibited on the grounds before or during a competition. Any animal with prohibited equipment must be disqualified from further competition and forfeit all entry fees and winnings. Tails must not be gingered or put in any device (e.g. tailset, bustle, braced, tied, etc.) which alters their carriage while on the grounds. The fact that a horse's tail has previously been set does not exclude participation.
