Slide Fire Stocks, Bump Fire Triggers, Etc. Just a reminder that the use of devices that mimic fully automatic fire need to be approved by the board of directors. Please appear before the board before doing so. We are concerned about muzzle climb and rounds exiting the property.
Supervision Of Youngsters This is a reminder that if you bring your youngsters to the club with you, please make certain that they are properly supervised at all times. We recently had an incident that got us thinking about this issue. Thank you for your good judgment and responsibility. Work Hour Opportunities/Work Parties: Outdoor Work Party: The next work party will be on June 7, 2014 at 8:00Am. We will be cleaning up trash and fallen tree limbs on all ranges. Bring rakes, shovels, and chain saws. We will need screw guns, saws, and hammers to make target frames. Contact Steve Schneckenburger at 309 692 7807 or 657 0170 for more information. Club Member Phil Burris: Long time club member Phil Burris was seriously injured in a fall accident and spent several weeks in the hospital. He is now residing at Lutheran Hillside Village apartment 211. His phone number is 309 689 2275, and he would certainly like to hear from his shooting buddies. Raffles: The Remington 1911 R1.45 ACP was won by Gene Davis of Kinny, IL. 100 tickets were sold. Bob Bjerke stated that another raffle for a Kimber pistol will take place shortly. The raffle opportunity to win a 1903A4 Springfield rifle is ongoing. 150 tickets will be sold at $20 each. Call Chris Bach 309 256 1712 or Bob Griffith 309 274 2068 1911 Pistol Match There will be a 1911 pistol match on Saturday July 26 on range #1. The starting time is 9:00AM. This is a simple 50 round course of fire. In the event of bad weather, we will use the indoor pistol range. There are two classes: military class and modified class (anything other than military). No optical sights, extended mags, and/or target style grips allowed. The range officials shall determine any eligibility issues. You must have a belt holster (no cross draw or shoulder rigs) and at least a couple of magazines. The military class caliber is.45 ACP only. The modified class can be any center fire caliber. Course fee is only $3 and you may shoot as much as you want in one or both classes. Prizes will be awarded for both classes. Contact Kevin Hutchison (657 1518) with any questions. Name The Newsletter: After several months of looking at newsletters from other clubs, I noticed that most of them have names. The X Xing, the screamer, and the rangefinder are a few to mention. I think our newsletter needs a name. If you have any ideas please contact me. We may even cook up a prize for this. Jim Muzzle Loader Matches These matches will be held on range number 5 at 10:00AM on the following dates: June 1 July 6 (paper Shoot), July 20 August 3 (paper shoot), August 17 September 7 (paper shoot), September 21 October 5 (paper shoot), October 19 (meat shoot) steel and wooden targets
These matches are shot with traditional flint or percussion muzzle loading rifles with a patch and round ball, open sights. If you would like to participate for the first time, all you need is to bring is yourself and your eye and hearing protection.
