ALL-STAR CHEER EXTRAVAGANZA We look forward to hosting cheer clubs and school teams for two fantastic days of competition, celebration and fun. NEW this year we have expanded to Friday evening! Dates Friday, April 15 (6pm-9pm) and Saturday, April 16 (9am-9pm) Friday night event: School Teams, Dance and Pom Teams, Prep Teams, Indys and Group stunts, possibly some level 1 All-star teams Saturday event: All-Star Cheer Location - Shaw Conference Centre, HALL C - Downtown Edmonton Awards Top 3 in each division will receive a team award. First place teams will receive individual medallions; all other will receive ribbons. Athlete Gift A quality downloadable video of all performances will be available after the event. A great keepsake for and parents and can be proudly shared on social media. Merchandise - Wide range of cheerleading gear will be available for purchase from vendors. Instant Video Reply - Teams will be able to enjoy seeing their performance once they get off the mat. Spectators - Spectator admission $10.00 per event through presales, $12 at the door. Clubs/Teams will have the opportunity to pre buy tickets and we highly encourage you to do so. Deluxe bleacher seating for spectators. All All-Star programs must have proof of insurance on file with the Alberta Cheerleading Association. Proof of insurance must be provided by all out of Province competitors and those not registered with the Alberta Cheerleading Association. SCORING INFORMATION: All- Star Cheer Teams - Teams will follow USASF rules found at www.usasf.net Varsity Score sheet will be followed for judging. All- Star Dance Teams Teams will follow the USASF Dance Rules found at www.usasf.net. Score sheets from Alberta Cheerleading Association Dance & Pom www.albertacheerleading.ca. School Cheer Teams - Teams will follow ACA Rules found at www.albertacheerleading.ca School Pom Teams - Teams will follow ACA Pom Rules found at www.albertacheerleading.ca Individual Cheer - Routines can be a maximum of 1:30. - Routines require a minimum of 2 running tumbling passes and 2 standing tumbling passes at level. - Routines require a minimum of 1 jump sequence and 1 jump to tumbling sequence at level. - Judges will be looking for creativity and skill combinations. - Ages will follow the 2015-16 USASF age grid. Younger may compete in an older age division if their skills higher than the levels offered and if their age fits into the USASF age grid guidelines. Pairs Cheer - Routines can be a maximum of 1:30. - Routines require a minimum of 4 stunts at level. - Judges will be looking for creative mounts, dismounts and transitions. - Judges will not be scoring for tumbling or jumps but they may earn creativity scores. - Pairs must provide a spotter but the spotter should be hands off. - A spotter assisting in the execution of skills will be evaluated by judges as a stunt fall. - Spotters may assist in catching dismounts without penalty. - Ages will follow the 2015-16 USASF age grid. Younger may compete in an older age division if their skills higher than the levels offered and if their age fits into the USASF age grid guidelines. - Participants can be male and/or female but will be judged in the same category. Group Stunt Cheer - Routines can be a maximum of 1:30. - Routines require a minimum of 4 stunts at level as well as at least 1 toss at level. - Judges will be looking for creative mounts, dismounts and transitions. - Judges will not be scoring for tumbling or jumps but they may earn creativity scores. - Ages will follow the 2015-16 USASF age grid. Remember that may compete in an older age division if their skills higher than the levels offered and if their age fits into the USASF age grid guidelines. - Group stunts may have up to 1 male participant in Junior divisions and Solo Dance - Routines can be a maximum of 1:30. - Routines must follow the USASF dance rules found at www.usasf.net - There is no specific dance genre but routines should be jazz- based. - Divisions: Youth, Junior, Senior, Open 12
