CHAIRMAN CALGARY FLAMES FOUNDATION JEFF McCAIG The mandate of the Calgary Flames Foundation since the ownership group brought the team to Calgary in 1980, was to positively impact the lives of southern Albertans through health and wellness, education, and grassroots and amateur sports. Since then, the Flames Foundation has donated millions to these key areas. The Calgary Flames Foundation endeavours to answer the call of Calgarians through proactive, as well as responsive, programming to meet community needs. Some programs last season included: The Be the Reason Campaign an initiative that saw families provided with resources they needed the most The gift of outdoor ice in the City of Fernie A renewed commitment to the Rotary Flames House and Kids Cancer Care Foundation Donations in response to family and community needs Removing barriers for families to provide entry into sports Providing much needed funds to over 80 CRA registered charities In total, $2.6 million was donated during the 2017-2018 season The Calgary Flames Foundation is working towards removing barriers: there should be no reason kids in Calgary are not able to afford to play hockey. The Calgary Flames Foundation continues to invest in making hockey more accessible to families in Calgary and surrounding areas through programs like the Flames EvenStrength Program, Comrie s Sports Equipment Bank, Flames Community Hockey League, HEROS, the Flames Novice Program and support of KidSport, Hockey Calgary and Hockey Alberta including the Hockey Calgary Leadership Day. Because of your ongoing support, these programs, along with the Rotary Flames House, Camp Kindle, the Flames Health Training Camp and the Flames YMCA Grade 6 program, continue to exist. We want to take this opportunity to thank our donors, our event sponsors and each person who purchased a 50/50 ticket at one of our games you are truly making a difference. We encourage you to take the time to learn more about the funds distributed on your behalf by the Calgary Flames Foundation. While we continue to support and create programming in the three key areas of our mandate, we are also responding to ongoing needs from our community. We thank you for being here for us and we want to make sure we are always there for you. Yours in hockey, JEFF Mc CAIG CHAIRMAN CALGARY FLAMES FOUNDATION

BE THE REASON THIS SEASON Ahead of the 2017 Christmas holidays, the Calgary Flames Foundation and the Calgary Flames launched the Be the Reason this Season campaign to expand its reach into the community with a holiday initiative that gave individuals and families in need a helping hand. The campaign focused on Calgary Flames Foundation charities and families impacted by raising funds and also stimulated an online share campaign around paying it forward during the holiday season. The campaign included six different families who received significant gifts from the Flames and the Flames Foundation from a private performance at the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, a house renovation, a service dog, a vehicle, a down payment for a mortgage and a year of groceries, to a trip to the Philippines.

During each Flames home game, Hamonic invites a child or families who have lost a parent unexpectedly, to attend a game and meet with them afterwards. The Northern Project is a program that sees indigenous children from the Canadian territories visit Calgary for a weekend on an all-expenses paid trip courtesy of the Hamonics.
