Page 2 of 6 A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT What a show you put on! Our Concours d Elegance had much better attendance than initially predicted with 168 registrations and 167 of them at the show. We had at least one from the Boise area, 2 from Missoula, 3 from BC, a few from the Spokane area, several from the Portland area, and no telling how many from Puget Sound. Sun Country Mustang Club in Yakima had the most visitor entries with 16. We had a bunch of really good cars and it sounded like the owners all had a good time. There were little glitches that we can discuss at the post-show meeting on Monday, October 17 th, but nothing we couldn t handle on the spot. Just about everything went very smoothly. I can t thank all of you enough for your contributions, especially Charlie McNiven and Claud Johnson for their work on the trophies, T-shirts, and dash plaques and Claud for his leadership in getting the show organized. They did a lot more than just those tasks, too. A lot of others helped plan the event and even more helped on Show Day to make everything happen. Thank you! After completing our second successful show of the year, would you believe the busiest week of the year is coming up? On Saturday, October 15 th, several of us will attend the show at City Church in Kennewick. On Monday, we have the post-fall Show discussion. On Tuesday, we have the club s general meeting. On Wednesday, we need 7 convertibles for Kennewick High s Homecoming Parade. Pasco High has requested 13 convertibles for Homecoming on Friday, the 21 st. I hope we can get the help w need again to handle the 4 club events in 5 days, while still getting a good turnout at City Church s show. We will have 3 big items on the agenda for Tuesday s club meeting. The first will be the election of officers for 2012. The second will be the Christmas Party. Please feel free to volunteer for an office. New blood is always good, plus we have several positions that require election or a confirmation of a volunteer. We also need to discuss the November 5 th Veterans Day Parade in West Richland. See you at the meeting. Article by President Jim Compton BEST OF SHOW WINERY S CHOICE FOUNDER S CHOICE

Page 3 of 6 MEETING MINUTES September 20, 2011 President Jim Compton called the PNWMC meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Members introduced themselves and their cars. Our new member Patty Peterson introduced herself and her 40 th anniversary Mustang convertible. She moved here from Spokane. Meeting minutes from the August 16, 2011 meeting were approved by the membership. OLD BUSINESS DUCK RACE TICKETS Randy Schneider brought Duck Race tickets to sell to the membership. They are $5 each and if all 25 tickets are sold we will receive a memorial plaque honoring Dave Lemak. The race is Oct. 8 th and each ticket contains 2 coupons for local businesses. (All tickets were purchased by the end of the meeting.) FALL SHOW PLANNING - Claud requested volunteers to sign up for registration, selling shirts, parking, ballot counting, etc. Also you can still place orders for shirts, sweatshirts, etc. See Claud to pre-pay for your special order. Steve Wallner and Claud went to Columbia Crest to finalize the show and parking. The gates open at 7:00 a.m. for set up of tables, mark sprinklers, set out class markers. Grant Culley requested the registration volunteers arrive by 8:30. Ben Rausch will work the trophies and Jean Anderson will sell T-shirts. We have 46 cars registered to date, with 17 from our club. The caravan will leave at 6:00 a.m. from the Sunmart at 395 in Kennewick. Post show dinner will be held at Azteca on 10 th and 395 starting about 5:30 pm. All are welcome. Dave Roohr, our fall show founder will attend the show and we will pay tribute to him with a founder s award and a card for all to sign. Post show meeting will be held Monday, Oct. 10 th. The place and time to be decided. It was decided not to use the survey form for this show. Troop care package list is available to pick up at the front table. Please support our troops with a donation from the list or money for postage. EVENTS OF THE PAST o Ben Franklin Parade had 16 convertibles and Jim thanked all members who participated. o Hot August Nights in Lewiston was attended by our president Jim Compton. o International Mustang Show was held in Spokane over Labor Day with 4 club members showing their cars. Steve and Jean Peterson took a 2 nd place trophy. Others members attending were Charlie McNiven, Jim Compton, Bennie and Elnora Hodges. There were 530 cars, 90 classes with 74 classes for Mustangs. o Ponies in the Sun held in Yakima on Sept. 18 th had 11 PNWMC members participate. Our club won the club participation award and a box of apples along with11 trophies; 4 1 st places, 5 2 nd places, and 2 3 rd places. 127 cars participated. As each entrant left the show, cookies, apple juice, water and apples were distributed. Our members thought this a nice gesture we might consider in the future for one of our shows. o Prosser States Day Parade Grant and Linda Culley represented our club in this parade. The parade was started in the early 1900 s as an end of summer celebration and received its name because all attendees had nametags indicating the state they represented. NEW BUSINESS Sunrise Growers in Sunnyside is our next planned club event. It will be on Saturday, Dec. 3 rd and we will stop for lunch. Nan Kuchan will keep us posted. Prosser Homecoming and dinner is Friday, Sept. 30 th. We need 10 cars and Jim passed around the sign up sheet. Plan to leave the Benton City on ramp at 5:30 p.m. and meet at the Mexican restaurant on 6 th and Mead at 6:00 pm. Kennewick Homecoming needs 4-5 cars. Details to follow.
