Parents, First off, congratulations on receiving a bid to the 2018 Rugby Ohio Youth State Championship. Thank you all so much for taking time out of your schedules and traveling all the way to Cincinnati for your kids to participate in this year's State Championship. This packet has a ton of information in it to help make Saturday the best experience it can be so please be sure to read the whole thing! This year's State Championship is at West Clermont Middle School (1341 Clough Pike, Cincinnati, OH 45103). The Gate opens up at 9:30, and our first games kick off at 11 AM. Admission Admission for the State Championship is $5 per person. All players, Coaches, Volunteers, and kids under the age of 5 will get in for free. Wristbands will be distributed so that you may leave and come back without having to pay the admission price again. The Gate opens at 9:30 AM. The Gate is cash only, so please come prepared. Kicking for advantage is allowed in open play (per rule change made at 2017 AGM) and all Flag teams will be using the box for conversions. Also, teams will defend the same side of the field for the entire half, and not flip flop sides after a score. Kick offs for flag will be taken at the 22 meter line and must travel to midfield. Please see the end of this packet for the Boys Tackle A Division Bracket. 5/6 Grade Boys Tackle Division This was a last minute add to accommodate both Columbus and Dayton who have younger kids playing tackle this year. The seeds for the 5/6 Boys Tackle Division are as follows: #1 Dayton Green

#2 Columbus 1 #3 Columbus 2 #4 Dayton White #5 Columbus 3 #6 Columbus 4 5/6 Boys Tackle will be playing with unopposed rucking, defense will retreat 2 meters from the tackle, unopposed scrums, and no boosting in the lineouts. They will also be using the box for their conversions. Vendors 1. Threadin' It Up - We will have a T-Shirt vendor on site making shirts and hoodies day of, but you can order your order online now and pick up the items at the tournament, but your order must be placed by this Thursday to be picked up this Saturday at West Clermont Middle School. LaRosa's Pizza - LaRosa's Pizza will have a truck on site and selling pizza. They will accept cash only. 3. Kona Ice - Kona Ice will have a truck to sell ice cream. They will accept cash or credit. 4. LulaRoe - LulaRoe will be selling LulaRoe merchandise on site. They will accept cash or credit. 5. Marcon Chiropractic & Wellness Center - Marcon Chiropractic & Wellness Center will be giving massages onsite. Concession Stand and Merchandise We will have several items for sale at our Concession Stand. Please note that we will only be able to accept cash at the concession stand. We also have 20 specially made Rugby Balls made for the tournament. These limited edition balls are $50 each. Please email me at cincinnatirookierugby@rugbyohio.com to buy a ball ahead of time, and I will send you an invoice to pay by credit card (this will add a $5 for credit card fees making the balls $55). These balls are on a first come first serve basis. Map 1. Please note that we have 6 fields running on Saturday. We will have posters made of all the brackets (which are also at the end of this packet) posted at the Concession Stand. 2. Handicap Parking - Please note that we have about 40-50 Handicap Parking spaces right outside the gate available to those who need it. If you do not need Handicap Parking, please be courteous enough to save these spots for those that need them. 3. Seating - Please note that while there is plenty of seating for Fields A and B in the stadium, there is only a tiny section of seats for Fields C and D, and no seating available for Fields E and F. Please be sure to bring a lawn chair if you want to sit during the games. 4. Tents - Tents are permitted, but may only be set up along the outside of the Track of fields A and B and the gravel pathway that runs along Fields C and E. 5. Practice Area - Please note that there is a practice area available for teams to warm up in between their matches. 6. Trainers - We will have trainers for all the Tackle Games, as well as a Trainers tent set up.

If you have a pet with you, you will not be permitted to enter the Gate.

50/50 Raffle We will be selling 50/50 Raffle tickets throughout the entire day and drawing a name by 2:00 on Saturday. All proceeds will go to our Rookie Rugby Cincinnati Scholarship Fund, which helps offset the cost of dues for kids so they can play Rugby in Cincinnati. The cost of 1 ticket will be $5, or you can get 5 tickets for $20. Weather As of today, we are expecting a chance of showers in the morning followed by partly cloudy skies in the afternoon with a high of 81 and low of 65. Please be sure to dress accordingly, and be sure to bring sun screen just in case. The forecast has changed drastically over the past few days, and I am sure it will change again before Saturday. Pick Up Games At the end of the day at 2:45, I have 4 open fields that can be used for pick up games. Should anyone want to play, let me know, and we will get a ref over to take care of those games.
