Acceptance of Minutes- Mar 14th, 2011 A motion was made to accept the minutes as presented /2 nd /carried. 5. Old Business: SCMHA MISSION STATEMENT: SCMHA has not heard back from the sign company regarding quotes and deadlines. We will discuss this at next meeting. There was discussion regarding hanging banners in the Fairview rinks for League and Provincial Champs: 2008/9 and 2009/10 (PW Females SSHL), 2009-2010 (Atom SSHL), 2010-2011 (Bantam Canucks- SSHL), 2010-2011 (Female Bantam Provincials). TV S IN FAIRVIEW LOBBY: (report attached) SCMHA has been in contact with a local company regarding the initial cost of their program as well as the monthly fees. We have also been in contact with the City in regards to the installation of the TV s and the wiring and cable. The City wants us to use a specific company for any electrical work. There is some confusion with regards to the sponsorship board in the FW lobby. The City may want it taken down or moved. We will have more information at the next meeting. SCMHA has purchased the 40 TV and the 55 TV is on order. The Board decided to get the TV s installed and we can explore more options for a program to run advertising, stats, etc. SCMHA AGM: Thur- April 21 st @ 7:00pm at the Best Western. We decided this year to not have the reports on the power-point presentation, but have copies for anyone who attends the AGM. 1

There was an ad run in the Booster mid-march and it is on the home page of our website. So far the only application has been for Initiation Division Head. The other truly open positions are Bantam Division Head, Jr. Female Division Head and Dr. of Risk Management. (Zenon has let his name stand). EARLY REGISTRATION: Thur May 26 th and Wed June 1 st from 6:30pm-8:30pm at the Swift Current Mall just outside the Safeway grocery doors. So far there is no word from SHA regarding the ability to register on-line. We plan to do it the same way as last year where we will pre-print everyone s registration form that was registered last year along with a copy for everyone so they can make their changes and keep the 2 nd copy for their records. There will be no long line for the photocopier this year! Members were asked to spread the word that the registration will be at the SWIFT CURRENT MALL this year as we couldn t hold it at the Wheatland Mall due to renovations. Ads will be placed in the paper, Eagle Notes as well as on our website. ZONE 3 MTG: 2 members attended on behalf of SCMHA. There was good discussion but nothing really new. The agenda and discussion included the new Bantam AA proposal, Recruitment/Retention of Players, Respect in Sport, Prairie pond Challenge, Hockey Day in Sask (Zone 3-2013), Coach Mentorship, practice programs and Provincial play-off planning. 2012 marks the 100 th year anniversary for SHA and there will be a Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Dinner planned. Wes Thompson is the new Zone 3 Director. INDOOR ICE-USER MTG: The meeting was held March 16 th @ noon at the IPLEX. The ice scheduler attended on behalf of SCMHA. The City indicated there would be a 5-10% increase in ice rental fees for next season. AED s were donated and installed in the arenas. We will write a thank you to the paper on behalf of SCMHA to the Old Timers Association, SW Paving and Mobile Paving. The City will return any non-resident fees collected by SCMHA to those members. SBAAHL: The Committee has been reviewing and revising the Constitution and Rules and Regs and think they may be close. Apparently they are similar the AAA guidelines. The new Executive is as follows: President: Larry Keinas (Melville), Vice- President: Tim Tisdale, Treasurer: Wayne Bokor (Melville) and Secretary: Wayne Nogier (Melfort). There will be a meeting in Davidson on April 30 th where they decided that each Association would have a vote as opposed to each team. Tim will not be able to vote on behalf of SCMHA and asked that someone from our Association attend with him. 2

BRADY CLOUTIER 3 ON 3 FUNDRAISER: The tournament was held Mar 21 st and 22 nd. They were able to raise $14, 488.00! Sounded like it ran very smooth and the committee did an excellent job and wanted to thank all the volunteers and businesses that made it possible. SCMHA had also donated $1 per players registered which the family acknowledged. NOVICE ICE BALANCE: A motion was made to donate the balance in the Novice Division ice account as well as the proceeds from the Novice Home tournament to the Brady Cloutier Fund /2 nd /carried. 6. New Business: REGISTRATION FEES & ICE ALLOCATION FOR 2011-2012 SEASON: Table for next meeting. ICE MEETING: The ice scheduler will call an ice meeting as soon as the new Board is formed and Division Heads are in place. Special Events, Tournaments and Ice Concerns will be on the agenda. SCMHA has obtained the 3 Special Event Weekends from the City (Nov 25, Dec 16, Jan 6). The Midget League teams requested a 12-team tournament for next year. It was also mentioned that the weekend that Atom usually has their tournament (late Feb) has been taken by Figure Skating. CANUCKS JERSEYS: The Bantam Canucks were the SSHL League Champs this year. They requested to keep one set of jerseys as they were going to be replaced by SCMHA anyway this coming season. A motion was made to allow the Bantam Canucks to keep one old set of jerseys/2 nd /carried. REF ADVANCE: A motion was made to advance the Referee Association/2 nd /carried. WILDCAT ADVANCE: (invoice attached) The Wildcat team had a locker room built in the Fairview Arena this year. They didn t think it was fair to impose the entire cost to one set of parents, so deferred a portion to next season s parents. A motion was made to advance the AAA Diamond Energy Wildcat team until they collect the parent fees for the 2011-2012 season/2 nd /carried. SSHL AGM: Sunday- May 1 st @ 1:30 The meeting will be held at the Palliser Pavilion. SSMHL AGM: Sunday- May 8 th @ 11:00am The meeting will be held at the Canalta hotel in Weyburn- numbers are needed ahead of time. Assiniboia has requested to enter a PW team. SHA AGM: Saturday- June 4 th in Saskatoon 3

So far 6 to 7 members are able to attend. SHA ZONE 3 CAMPS: SHA sent out an invitation to host the SHA camps for Bantam, Midget and Female. OVER-AGED FEMALE PLAYER: A player who has a late birthday is requesting to play hockey next year. The Board has asked for an official request and will discuss at the next meeting. Butch mentioned that the League does allow over-aged players in the Midget AA Division. MINOR HOCKEY RECREATION (NON-CONTACT) HOCKEY: An e-mail was sent to SCMHA regarding forming teams made out of players that would be interested in playing hockey that does not have contact involved. There are already a few teams that played last year from Maple Creek, Consul and Eastend. There has been some interest from Shaunavon. Last year there were 28 players that formed 2 teams; Pee Wee and under and Pee Wee and older. The Board decided to table the discussion until we find out more information such as ice availability, etc. This could also be posted as a poll on our website in the future. SHA FINES: (report attached) There were 16 fines in total from SHA for officials or teams that have not completed their requirements such as speak-out, coach clinics, etc. Copies were sent to Division Heads to look into. OUTSTANDING ICE ACCOUNTS: (copy attached) A list of the teams that still owe money on their ice accounts was listed. 7. Correspondence: Sean Chapman- letter- thanking SCMHA & team for a great year/s. SHA- letter requesting pics from Female Bantam Champs! SHA- newsletter (e-mailed to board) SHA- AtoMC Hockey Sponsorship- will look into this further 8. Financial Report: Eric Bloom (report attached)(absent) The Bronco donation is included in the revenue as well as the sponsorship from the Dodge Caravan program for the Novice teams. Donation expenses include the Austin Moen Trust Fund and the Brady Cloutier Trust Fund. Office expenses include the new computer and TV for the Fairview lobbies. Net ice recovery to come yet and most major expenses paid other than the new jerseys that have been ordered. A motion was made to accept the financial report as presented/2 nd / carried. 9. Division Reports INITIATION: Kevin Patenaude 4

There are a few sets of jerseys to turn in yet. Will donate whatever is left over in the Initiation tournament account to Kidsport. NOVICE: Cheyenne Arntsen Just a few sets of jerseys and some equipment to return. ATOM: Wade Lacher 2 sets of jerseys to return- guessing at the numbers for next year we may need 2 more sets for next year for an additional 2 teams. PEE WEE: Bruce Reid Nothing to report at this time. BANTAM: Craig Gatzke (report attached) Canucks are SSHL Bantam champions defeating Shaunavon in the league final. Raiders lost to Balgonie in the SSMHL Bantam final. Raiders finished off a very successful season in Kamloops at the KIBIHT tournament, losing in the B final by a goal. Jordan Wittman was named as a first team all-star. MIDGET: Greg Hurrell Nothing to report at this time. SR FEMALE: Butch Gering Female Bantam s won Provincial Championship. JR FEMALE: Warren Hope Nothing to report at this time. 11. Committee Reports REGISTRATION: Angele Newkirk RISK MANAGEMENT/PROGRESSIVE DISCIPLINE: Zenon Zemluk There have been 31 signed and 2 unsigned evaluations returned so far. There was a suggestion to add a deadline date of April 1 st of the current season to the form as that gives time for the consultant to gather the information prior to the AGM. Atom had the most evaluation forms completed. EQUIPMENT: Darwin Knelsen (report attached) Darwin had sent out an email to clarify what jerseys had been ordered for the next season. REFEREE REPRESENTATIVE: Kevyn Kristmanson LEGIONNAIRE REPRESENTATIVE: Kim Bachek Spring Camp was a success with 73 players attending. Big thanks to Tim for helping Jason and organizing everything.
