Introduction We are all inspired and excited about the upcoming Preliminary finals due to our outstanding day of finals matches by PCNA teams on Saturday. Twenty teams were involved in finals last week and we have thirteen still contesting for the Premiership spot. Well done to all teams on Saturday. Four teams will go straight through to the Grand Final on the 17 September and nine teams will be back this Saturday to try to win the chance to play in a Grand Final. For a team to reach the finals and then move into the second round of finals is a fantastic achievement and we are very proud of the huge success that we have achieved thus far. At some point it may happen that a finalist team loses a finals match and is no longer in the contention for the premiership. Although this is disappointing to the players concerned, it is important to reflect back over the entire season and acknowledge that you and the team have achieved many successes along the way and to be proud of your achievement! Players and parents are reminded that the coach will aim to make the best decisions for the team on the day and it may be that players do not have equal court time in finals matches. Good luck on Saturday! The PCNA End of Season Presentation Night and Dinner Dance for Years 7-12 is on Sunday 18 September 5.30pm 9.00pm. Please register on line through Try booking. https://www.trybooking.com/mmow Regards, Anne and Kerrilee Fill-in Players A special thank you is extended to Alex Kemp who filled in for a finals match last Saturday. 2016 FINALS Playing in Finals Player rotation We wish all players the very best for the upcoming finals. The finals matches can be quite different to season matches as both teams are very competitive and determined to win the match. It is important for players and parents to be aware that although coaches will endeavour to give equal court time to players during the finals, this does not always occur. The coach will make the best decision for the team on the day and it may be that players do not have equal court time in finals matches. Arrival time Players, please arrive at your court 30 minutes before your finals match commences. If you are running late or caught in traffic send a message to your coach to prewarn them. Spectators for Finals bring your FAMILY and FRIENDS along! Being at finals is very exciting! Please encourage as many of your friends and family as possible to come to Matthews on Saturday to support your team. We would like to create a great Perth College atmosphere at the courts and cheer your team to victory. Parents please support PCNA by providing only positive support from the sidelines. Uniform for Finals Important for all players. Please ensure that only the blue shorts are worn under the PCNA dress (no black shorts).if you wear a T-shirt over your dress, please wear the PC navy sports top. However if you need something warmer, wear the PC blue and white track suit top or the white PC windcheater. Keep to Perth College colours! Team Colour Ribbons - In past years many PCNA teams have worn their team colour ribbons in their hair for the finals, we encourage teams to continue with this tradition. Socks for Finals PCNA socks look fabulous with the PCNA dress! If you have PCNA socks can you please wear them for the finals matches. If you would still like to buy socks you can go to http://www.trybooking.com/bcrh to place your order before finals. Final Tips for Finals matches WARM UP Is important, so do it well! IT'S NOT OVER TILL IT'S OVER Never, Never, Never Give Up! It's OK to FEEL Nervous! Just don't BE Nervous!

The TEAM that makes the LEAST ERRORS and scores the MOST GOALS will win the game! Focus on the PROCESS and the RESULT will take care of itself! UMPIRES umpire what they see - they don't win or lose you games! CONTROL what you can CONTROL! Remember, there's a WAY TO WIN and a WAY TO LOSE...be gracious no matter what! See yourself playing the game well. VISUALISE yourself shooting that goal over a tall defender with long arms. See yourself playing the game well. VISUALISE working your feet quickly to get around an opponent to take an intercept. You NEED your team members always be POSITIVE and ENCOURAGING.
