Dear Athletes, During a week, the eyes and heart of all UFAK members, will be turned to the beautiful city of KIGALI, capital of RWANDA. It is also the moment to celebrate through karate, the cultural diversity and the vitality of the Rwandan people. I would like to take this opportunity to salute the work done by the Rwandan Karate Federation which, through this event, reassured Mr. the Prime Minister and the Minister of Sports and Culture on the warm welcome of the African sport youth from North to South on the Rwanda earth. The president of the WKF Mr. ANTONIO has set the course: The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games will be organized with Africa. Our objectives are clear: the presence of our karatekas to these games which accept for the first time in decades, the karate. You can count on the values that have been mine forever and are also those of the team that surrounds me. We are reassured by the stability of Rwanda and want, through these 9th and 17th Junior and Senior Karate Championships, to accompany the dream of the president of Rwanda, First athlete, his Excellency Paul KAGAME, who wants among other things, to make his country, a reference of major sporting events. As the president of UFAK, I first address you, the athletes, who are here today. What the public wants to see are spectacular gestures. Fight with pride, wear high the colors of your country, all in respect of the rules, with respect for the opponent, in a Fair Play spirit. Make us vibrate.
