Should the judges feel that a combination is competing continuously at levels below their ability they reserve the right not to place the combination. Competitors competing in RING TWO may only enter CLASS ONE and TWO in RING ONE. All competitors jump one round and will then go through to a timed jump off; all competitors will receive a rosette.

D.H.H.S CLUB RULES (in conjunction with BSJA Rules) ALL CLASSES WILL BE SPLIT BETWEEN HORSES AND PONIES 1. THE JUDGE S DECISION IS FINAL. 2. LEGAL LIABILITY - Neither the Organisers, nor any person acting on their behalf accept any liability for any loss, damage, accident, injury or illness to horses, riders, spectators or any other persons or property whatsoever. 3. HEALTH, SAFETY AND WELFARE - The Organiser of this Event has taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the written or verbal instructions of the Organiser and all the Officials and Stewards, who will also not be liable for any claim in respect of damage, loss, injury or accident to any person, horse or property howsoever caused. It shall be deemed a condition of entry that each entrant has read and under- stood these terms and conditions and shall indemnify DHHS or any person acting on their behalf against any legal action arising from such an incident 4. CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 16 YEARS - must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times. 5. FAULTS JUMPING COMPETITIONS Knockdown- 4 faults Foot in water- 4 faults First disobedience- 4 faults Second disobedience- 8 faults Third disobedience- Elimination Error of Course- Elimination Rider fall- Elimination (rider must leave arena dismounted). 6. ELIMINATION - As the result of 3 refusals, resistances or run outs - before leaving the arena the competitor may attempt to jump one single obstacle already jumped in the correct direction. 7. FALLEN POLES - Penalties for knockdowns are incurred when as a direct result of having been jumped the whole or any part of the obstacle is knocked down, even if the part which falls is subsequently arrested in its fall before reaching the ground or has fallen before the competitor has crossed the finishing line. 8. TOURING THE RING - It is not permitted to "show" a horse/pony an obstacle; however you must circle around (keep moving) until the bell. 9. CHAMPIONS FROM PREVIOUS YEARS No combination of horse and rider may compete in the Minimus or Novice/Novice class if they have won the championships for these classes previously.
10. DRESS - Competitors must at all times wear correct riding clothes complete with jacket (BSJA rule 101.1) whenever they enter the arena. Long hair should be tidy and secured appropriately above the collar. Jewellery worn anywhere on the body can increase the risk of injury and competitors are strongly recommended to remove all jewellery. 11. SPURS - Under 16s - NO SPURS but may take part as H/C (Hors Concours translation without competing) therefore allowed to participate but not eligible for placings. Seniors - Spurs are only to be worn in the traditionally correct manner, with the curve of the neck of the spur directed downwards. The misuse of spurs is an offence under BSJA rule 82.4, but riders must also take care that the manner in which they use their spurs does not offend the public contrary to BSJA rule 82.1. Spurs of excessively severe design are not to be worn. Such designs include spurs with necks in excess of 3cms long, necks set on the inside of the heel, rowel diameters in excess of 1cm, roughened or cutting edges, serrated spurs, with or without necks.( BSJA 101.9) 12. WHIPS - No rider may carry or use a whip greater than 75cm or less than 45cm in length overall. The whip should not be used more than 3 times after entering the arena. (BSJA 102.8) 13. HATS - All riders and junior handlers must wear protective headgear which includes a retaining harness secured to the shell at more than two points. Such headgear must be worn with the chinstrap properly adjusted and fastened while mounted (BSJA rule 267). It is mandatory for all hats to comply with the permitted hat standards as updated 3 rd Jan 2017 PAS 015 98, PAS 2011 + KM, VGI + KM, SNELL E2001, ASTM F1163 2004 + SEI AS/NZ 38.38 2003 onwards + SAI. 14. ENTRIES Are payable on the day at the time of booking. 15. REFUNDS - Will not be given once classes are entered. 16. RIDDEN HORSES/PONIES - Must be 4 years old or over. 17. STALLION/COLTS - Must be kept under control at all times & not handled by anyone under 14 years. All stallions must have blue ribbon in tail. 18. DROPPINGS - To be picked up. 19. DOGS - Must be kept on leads and all dog mess cleaned up. 20. RUBBISH/LITTER - To be removed from showground or placed in bins provided. Thank you and hope you have an enjoyable day
