Entries are due Monday, July 11 th by MIDNIGHT by email only to katie@ccrcha.com. Any entries that are received after this date will be subject to a 250 late fee for aged events and a 50 late fee for horse show classes. 2. ALL entry forms must be submitted by email with a copy of the horse s papers. 3. Horse show is NRCHA approved. NRCHA and CCRCHA memberships are required. 4. In order to show in B.C. HCBC membership is required; riders who are not current HCBC members may indicate on their entry form and complete their membership at the show office prior to showing. This is mandatory in order to show. 5. Futurity and Derby entries must include a copy of the horse s registration papers or a written veterinary age authentication including complete horse description for unregistered horses must be submitted with entry. Failure to include a copy of registration papers or veterinary age authentication will constitute an incomplete entry. Proof of ownership may also be requested for non pro classes of horse show. 6. By submitting an entry, in any format, the contestant acknowledges that they meet the criteria to compete in the classes entered according to the guidelines set forth in the NRCHA rulebook. 7. ALL NRCHA rules apply, including equipment limitations in each class. 8. Futurity Entries- All Futurity classes open to 3 year old horses of any breed. All horses are to be shown in 3 rounds of competition: herd, rein & cow work. Horses may have been previously exhibited in a snaffle bit, hackamore or bridle; however, they may not have been shown down the fence in a bridle.
9. Derby Entries: Open to horses 4 & 5 years of age of any breed that have never been shown in a bridle down the fence at any judged cow horse event held anytime, anyplace. Horses to be shown in an approved hackamore with closed reins, or approved snaffle bit in herd, rein & cow work rounds of competition (must use same equipment in all three events). 10. Futurity: Herd, rein work and boxing. Open to Non pro riders with earnings of 750 or less in down the fence earnings. Horses are to be 3 years of age and are to be shown in a snaffle bit, two handed, except for herd work. All NRCHA rules Apply. 11. Derby: Herd, rein work and boxing. Open to Non pro riders with earnings of 750 or less in down the fence earnings. Horses are to be 5 years of age or younger and are to be shown in a snaffle bit or hackamore two handed, except for herd work. All NRCHA rules Apply. 12. Level 1 Limited Open Riders: Herd, rein work and fence. Open to any rider who has not earned 15,000 or more in Open and money at the NRCHA Futurity, Derby, Hackamore Classic, Stakes or Maturity through 2001 and after 2001 at any NRCHA approved Limited Age Events. To be eligible to compete in this division, contestants must have a valid LAE Level 1 Limited Open designation on their membership card and a current application on file in the office. Affiliate level shows may have a separate draw for the Level 1 Limited Open or may draw with the Open divisions. 13. Bridle Spectacular: Open Bridle Spectacular/All Around Class- This is a 4 part class with herd work, rein work, cow work and steer stopping. Bridle Classes - open to horses of any age, to be ridden in an approved bit. Reins with romal required. Only one hand may be used on the reins and hands must not be changed. All NRCHA rules apply. Bridle Spectacular: This is a 3 part class with herd work, rein work and fence work. Open to approved non-pro riders. Horses can be any age, to be ridden in an approved bit. Reins with romal required. Only one hand may be used on the reins and hands must not be changed. You must be the owner of record on AQHA papers. All NRCHA rules apply. 14. Open Two Rein Class: Rein/fence class. Open to horses of any age that have not shown in the bridle down the fence in any judged classes or events with the exception of horse sales, prior to November 16th of the current show year. These horses can be shown only one year in this class. A horse may be shown in the two rein equipment for one year only regardless of the class it is shown in. The rider must use an approved bit in accordance with NRCHA Rule 5.2 with an approved bosal in accordance with NRCHA Rule 5.4 and 5.5 underneath the bridle. 15. Hackamore Classes - Rein/fence class. Open to horses 5 years of age and under as of January 1st of current show year that have never been shown in a bridle or two rein down the fence at any judged classes or events with the exception of horse sales and National High School Rodeo events. Horses will be shown in the Hackamore and the rider shall use closed reins. Two hands must be used on the reins. All NRCHA rules apply. 16. Youth Bridle: Rein and fence work, open to riders 18 years of age and under as of November 16th of the current show year. For safety reasons, Youth are not allowed to show stallions in any Youth class. Youth Bridle class may not run concurrently with any other classes. Open to horses of any age, to be ridden in an approved bit. Reins with romal required. Only one hand may be used on the reins and hands must not be changed. All NRCHA rules apply.
17. Youth Limited: Rein/Box class. Open to riders 18 years of age and under as of November 16th of the current show year. Riders cannot have earned more than 750 in fencework classes at any judged classes or events with the exception of horse sales. Riders shall be ineligible for the class upon the meeting the 750 earnings limitation after an event. Youth may not show stallions in Youth classes for safety reasons Youth Bridle and Youth Limited classes may not run concurrently with any other classes. Open to horses of any age, to be ridden in an approved bit. Reins with romal required. Only one hand may be used on the reins and hands must not be changed. All NRCHA rules apply. 18. : Rein/Box class. Open to horses of any age to be shown in age appropriate head gear. Horses 5 and under are to be shown in a snaffle bit or hackamore, two handed. Horses 6 and up are to be shown one handed in a bridle and romal reins. All NRCHA rules apply. 19. Beginner Fence: Rein/Fence class. This class is open to any rider who has earned 100 or less in cow horse competition. Horses can be any age. You may ride one OR two handed in any head gear. This is a modified rein work pattern with NO LEAD CHANGES. Fence work follows directly after your rein work. You must be entered in both classes Saturday and Sunday to qualify for the aggregate buckle. 20. Beginner Boxing Class: Rein/box class. This class is open to any rider who has earned 100 or less in cow horse competition. Horses can be any age. You may ride one OR two handed in any head gear. This is a modified rein work pattern with NO LEAD CHANGES. Boxing a cow follows directly after your rein work. You must be entered in both classes Saturday and Sunday to qualify for the aggregate buckle. 21. After each work, headstalls must be dropped and viewed by the appointed representative and mouth checked. Use of illegal and/or training equipment will not be permitted in the show arena on the day of the show, either one hour previous to show time or during the performance. Training equipment will be permitted in designated warm-up times only. Exhibitors must wear a western hat or helmet approved for riding by an equine organization, boots & long sleeve shirt, chaps or chinks are mandatory. On show day & until the conclusion of the show, any persons entering the show pen must be wearing a western hat and long sleeve shirt. Youth (Under 18) must be wearing a helmet while mounted at all times. 22. See Entry form for classes that are eligible for a cross entry discount. 23. An owner may enter more than one horse and a rider may ride more than one horse, however, horse may only be entered once in each division. 24. The COWUPONTHECOAST show committee reserves the right to accept or reject any entry. All decisions are final. 25. Riders are responsible to check in at the show office to ensure that their entry and paperwork are in good standing before entering the show ring. 26. The CCRCHA reserves the right to cancel, transfer or reschedule the event without notice and/or liability. In the event of cancellation all entry fees paid to date will be refunded. Any interest earned on the entries is the property of the CCRCHA. 27. These rules & conditions are subject to change by action of the CCRCHA Board of Directors.
SCRATCHES If an entry is scratched before the draw date, July 25 th, 2016, the entrant will be charged half office/cattle fees only. After July 25 th, 2016, a scratched entry will be charged full fees. SUBSTITUTIONS Rider Substitutions: Rider substitutions can be completed only by contacting the CCRCHA Office. Horse Substitutions: In order to complete a horse substitution the following items must be sent to the CCRCHA office or presented to the Horse Show office at the show: a. A Veterinary note explaining as to the reason the horse is not able to be shown. b. A copy of the new entry s registration papers or veterinary age authentication (Futurity and Derby classes only). c. A new entry form must be completed. Please note that any current entry that would like to substitute must provide all the items listed above or it will be considered a late entry with late entry fees added. Change of ownership: If any entry changes ownership, the entry will retain eligibility by complying with the following: a. Notification of change in ownership to the committee. b. New owner is or becomes a member of the CCRCHA. c. Non-pro s cannot show on a transfer, they must be the registered owner at the time of the event. PAYMENTOFFEES!! 1. Payment may be made by credit card on the show payment form or paid at the show. Payable by cheque, cash, VISA or MasterCard 2. All entries must accompany a credit card number on the entry form; however, you have the option to pay by cheque or cash at the show office. Please check box accordingly on entry form. 3. Payments returned due to insufficient funds or denied credit card will be charged a 50 NSF charge and subject to penalties as detailed in NRCHA rulebook 4.
