Starlight Waltz Argentine Tango Kilian Novice Pattern Dance Key Points Guidelines for evaluating the novice pattern dances: Four key points in each sequence/section of the dance will be assessed by the technical panel to establish the level of the whole sequence/section as one unit, and judges will give one GOE for the whole sequence/section. The key points will be taken into consideration by the technical panel to establish the level of each sequence/section of the dance. Calling Specifications for Pattern s The Novice Dance Pattern Dance event key points cite for Level 1 that 75% of the pattern must be completed. For Levels 2-4, a percentage was not cited but pattern completion and key points attained are within the technical assessment of each segment performed. For Novice Pattern Dance, Levels 2-4 the ISU guideline as described in the ISU Handbook for Technical Panels Ice Dance will be followed, with revision to a Pattern Dance event: For Level 2 and 3, without interruption means that the Pattern Dance segment is not interrupted more than four beats in total, either through stumbles, falls or any other reason, for Level 4, without interruption means that the Pattern Dance segment is not interrupted at all, even if stumbles or other mistakes occur. If the Pattern Dance segment is interrupted more than four beats in total, the Technical Panel will reduce the Level to 1 if the requirements for Level 1 (75 percent of the pattern completed) are met.
