The Queen s Notes THE QUEEN'S CLUB 568 DUPONT STREET, TORONTO. CANADA M6G 1Y9...where the tradition continues queensclub@rogers.com Finals Day has come and gone and many members have turned to the outdoors, enjoying the wonders of playing in the sun or simply partaking in other summer activities. I would like to thank all members who took the time to come and enjoy our traditional day which featured some awesome tennis. Just one of the highlights: on the east court. Katie Flach battled ninetime club champion Erin Boynton in an exciting three-set thriller in front of a packed crowd. Congrats to all club champs and thanks to everyone who made Finals Day a great success. Again this year, special thanks to Mary-Lea Ruscetta for her help with the flower arrangements. The board of directors have approved various renovation projects this summer such as rebuilding the front steps, replacing the fence at the back of the club, re-tiling the men s steam room, scarifying the courts and laser leveling them, and other small projects. We look forward to seeing all of you at next year s Finals Day on April 24, 2016. Wishing you an awesome summer, Gaetan Here Comes the Sun Drop Shots Congrats to Triple Crown winners (won three events) Cliff Hacking (Over 60s & B singles and Mixed B), Erin Boynton (Open Singles, Doubles and Mixed) and John Payne (Doubles in the Over 45s, Over 65s and Mixed Open)... The board of directors have approved the purchase of a ping-pong table for our alternate-to-tennis enjoyment in the coming 2015-16 season. 1
