Initial bedding will be provided. NOTES: 1. RULES: This Event will be run strictly in accordance with the regulations and rules laid down by the South African Equestrian Federation (SAEF), SASJ, DSA, SAEQA, SASA & KPC except where amended by this schedule. The rules applicable to each discipline are set out under those discipline's sections and must be read in conjunction with the General Regulations. 2. ELIGIBILITY: At the closing date of entry, all owners and riders must be members of, and horses must be registered with, a club and Discipline. 3. ENTRIES: 3.1 Unless entries are accompanied by the correct entry fee (attached to the online entry), they will not be accepted. 3.2 Entry Fees are specified under each section. 3.3 Any enquiries should be addressed to the Show Secretary, Telephone: 011 0363320. 4. ORDER OF RIDING: Competitors must ride strictly in the order given in the official programme or daily starting lists. Competitors may be eliminated from a competition if they are not ready to enter the arena when called upon to do so by the Marshalling Steward. 5. SUBSTITUTIONS & BUYING OF ENTRIES: Substitutions must be made in accordance with the relevant rules applicable to each discipline except where otherwise stated in this schedule. Application for substitution must be made on the official substitution form and must be lodged with the Show Secretary within the specified times laid down in the rules. Buying of entries is strictly through the KPC office, and there will be no further buying & selling of entries 23 rd of June 2017 6. PROTESTS: All protests and appeals must be lodged in writing with the Show Director or Show Secretary within the specified times and must be accompanied by a deposit of R500.00. 7. RESPONSIBILITY FOR LOSS, DAMAGE OR INJURY: SAEF, KPC, SASJ, DSA, SAEQA, SASA, The Sponsors, Competitors, Officials or any other person or body connected with organising or competing in this Event will not be held responsible for any loss, damage or injury sustained by owners, competitors, officials, members of the public or any other person or their property in connection with the SA Pony Rider, Children & Junior Rider Derby Show. 8. AMENDMENT AND/OR CANCELLATION OF CLASSES: The Organising Committee in consultation with the relevant discipline representative, reserves the right, if insufficient or excessive entries are received or in the light of unforeseen circumstances, to combine, handicap, divide, postpone or cancel any classes. Should this be necessary, the prize money will be adjusted accordingly.

9. OBLIGATIONS: It is a condition of entry to this event that: 9.1. All competitors entered are obliged to compete in all competitions for which they have qualified. 9.2. All riders asked to appear in parades, displays or prize-giving ceremonies are obliged to do so. 9.3. No blanket may be worn by any horse in the Derby Arena unless permission is given by the Show Director. This permission will only be given in the case of inclement weather. Failure to comply with any of the above may result in the forfeiture of all prize money, trophies and grading points won at the Event. 10. PRIZE-GIVING CEREMONIES: Only the top 5 places in every class will receive rosettes and prizes in the arena, all other prize winners to collect their rosettes and prizes from the marshal. This shall be at the discretion of the organizing committee. 11. PASSPORTS: All horses entered must have a valid FEI or SAEF Passport, which must be correctly filled in and stamped. Failure to do so will result in a fine. AFRICAN HORSE SICKNESS: (Government Notice No R254/6/2/97) all passports must have the African Horse Sickness vaccine endorsed in the passport that the horse has been vaccinated by a Registered Veterinarian as prescribed by the manufacturer within the past 12 months. Failure to comply will result in a fine. EQUINE INFLUENZA All horses must be vaccinated against Equine Influenza in accordance with SAEF Regulations. Failure to comply will result in a fine. CRUELTY AND PROHIBITED SUBSTANCES: SAEF rules regarding cruelty and the use of prohibited substances will be strictly observed. At the discretion of SAEF, any horse or rider may be tested for the presence of prohibited substances. 12. TIMETABLE: Whilst the published timetable will be adhered to as far as possible, the Organising Committee in consultation with the Discipline Representative reserves the right to make such alterations as it deems necessary. All alterations will be posted on the KPC website as well. Competitors are advised to check the starting times of their classes with the Show Secretary, or on the website: www.kyalamiparkclub.co.za as well as the disciplines websites 14. REFUNDS: No Refunds will be given after closing date of entries. Any entries cancelled before the closing date will be refunded 80% of the entry fee. 15. DOGS: All dogs must be on a hand-held leash, failure to comply will incur an immediate R1000 fine. FEI Veterinary rules will be applicable with the SASJ MCP Testing and NHA Laboratory. 2. All Horse and Ponies must have valid passports authorised by the South African Equestrian Federation. 3. It is the Athletes/Owners responsibility to ensure that they comply with the control measures of African Horse Sickness and Equine Flu. The batch numbers and dates of the last two vaccinations against Equine Flu and AHS must be stated in the Horses passport these must comply with the vaccinations on the horses SASJ profile. Should these vaccinations not comply the Athlete will be issued with a fine. 4. All Athletes should be aware of the South African Drug Free Sport and WADA regulations and prohibited substances all these are available on: http://www.drugfreesport.org.za 5. All Athletes are also to ensure they are aware of the Equine Anti Doping and Medication Control Programme. All information and the current FEI Equine Prohibited Substances list of Banned Substances and Controlled Medications are available on the FEI Clean Sport Website as a PDF document, Database or smart phone app. 6. Horse Inspection: The OC will publish on the Timetable the time for the horse inspection for all ponies and horses in the CN classes. 7. Timing Device = Tag Heuer Model CP540 8. QUALIFICATIONS 1. Qualification points will be awarded as per Qualification set out in SASJ rules. NOTE: Other placing, eliminations, retirements and non-starters will not receive points. Horses that tie for a place will each receive the same number of points. Derby s will be restricted to the leading 24 competitors in the qualifying classes based on the above points system. Riders may not ride more than two horses/ponies per Derby. ENTRY FEE: Pony Rider 1.10m; 1.20m and Junior Rider 1.30m = R960.00 Composite entry fee (Entry fees incl. R64.98 KPC levy, R5.13 EDS levy, R23.65 Medical/Security Levy, R11.40 SASJ levy (Incl. 14% VAT) R50 Officials Levy per class) Non KPC Members will pay an extra R350.00 arena fee per rider. Please note: PR1.20 & JR 1.30m will be restricted to the top 24 qualifiers. A starting fee of R400.00 is payable upon qualifying for PR 1.20m and JR 1.30m SA Derby classes. PR1.10m Championship, PR Micro Derby & Junior Mini Derby starting fees R350, Qualification points will be calculated as stated 1 st =40 points, 2 nd =37 points, 3 rd =35 points continuing in descending scale 34, 33, etc. Victor Ludorum prizes will be handed out for the following grade, PR 1.20m & JNR 1.20m and will be calculated as follows: 1 st = 10 points, 2 nd = 9 points, 3 rd = 8 points, etc. Should there be a tie for 1 st place; the Athlete with the higher placing in the last class will be declared the winner.
