St. Michael s College Fair Saturday 27th May 2017 9.30am - 5.30pm No 2 SPONSORSHIP Thank you to those families who have already pledged sponsorship for the Fair. We have reached an amazing total of $10,900. Please try and support these businesses as they have supported us. Details of sponsors are in this Newsletter, and soon to be in the College Newsletter and on the website. If you have a home or family business that you would like promoted at the Fair then you might like to consider sponsorship. Your early commitment to sponsorship enables us to give you maximum advertising opportunities. All donations for sponsorship are tax deductible. If you are intending to help with sponsorship please let Angie Moore (in Admin) know by Friday 21st April as flyers will need to be printed. Any amount is gratefully accepted. Come in and see Angie to find out what we can offer you! Many of our College families do like to sponsor the Fair and if you are thinking you might do it this year, now is the time! We have many packages available. Attached is the Fair Sponsorship Prospectus. Please do not feel limited with these packages. Our target is to raise $20,000 to cover the costs of the rides, hire equipment and advertising. We attract thousands of visitors to the Fair each year and much of our success is attributed to our many sponsors. We really appreciate your generosity. ACTING FAIR CO-ORDINATOR A little bit about me. My name is Angie Moore and I am a mum to 3 children at the school. One in Prep, Grade 3 and Grade 6. I am filling in for Sister Anne while she is unwell and trying my hardest to ensure the Fair is as awesome as always. I have been on the Fair Committee for 7 years now and thrive on helping Sister Anne with any tasks she has needed doing. I am thankful for all the volunteers and offers of help and trust me, I will be calling you. Can I ask that if you have volunteered your time to help Sister Anne in previous years and have a job that you normally do for her, could you please touch base with me and let me know, as I would really love your assistance again this year. After Easter, things will really ramp up and many hands will make the task of pulling this amazing Fair together, much easier. Next Fair Meeting - 27th March - 7pm in Staff Room - All Welcome

Fair Roster Thank you so much for your early response to our Fair Roster - It has been great! If you haven t already done so, please go to the Fair Roster via the website :www.schoolinterviews.com.au enter the code rxwy5 and follow the prompts. For our new families to the school, the Fair is a crazy day filled with lots of excitement, rides, amazing food but for me, the best part is knowing that you have been part of a team of volunteers who have created a day that will stay in your memory for years. If you are feeling somewhat daunted, if you are not sure what you need to be doing or just have a question, please do not hesitate to chat with Sister Veronica or Angie. We will happily help you with any questions you may have and allay any fears or uncertainty. Convenors are still needed for the following stalls - Cent sale, Popcorn and Slushies, Drinks, Fairy Floss and SnoCones, Coffee in Toddlerland. If you feel you can take on one of these stalls, please see Sister Veronica as soon as possible and she will be able to explain exactly what is needed. As a convenor you don t need to be on the stall all day if you don t want to be. What s NEW this year. We are excited to say that we have a new attraction this year. Laser Tag will be making its first appearance at the school Fair and we have no doubt that there will be a lot of excited children. This will be set up on the school oval. More specific details, age restrictions and pricing will be promoted very soon. Brought to you by Red Scorpion Mobile Laser Tag and proudly sponsored by... PROUDLY SPONSORED BY.

St. Michael s Trash and Treasure Cleaning out your cupboards, shed or house - keep in mind our amazing Trash and Treasure stall at the Fair. Please put this stall on your MUST DO visit list... If you have goods for this stall, you can leave the goods in the shed near the tennis courts, or leave the items in the green bin in the lower school carpark (limited space in this bin). DON T FORGET THAT ONE MAN S TRASH IS ANOTHER MAN S TREASURE JARS AND BOTTLES We are looking for clean 250ml washed and de-labeled glass jars for jam. Please drop them in at the office. Raffle Prizes Do you have a major prize or can source one that you can donate to this years raffle. A holiday, canoe, trailer, tinny. Are just some suggestions. Fantastic Funland & the Novelty Wheel - We are in need of little items for prizes. Good places to look are Crazy Clarks, Overflow. Ideas are bottles of wine, chocolates, lollies, yo-yo's, card decks, glow sticks etc. Firstly, we would just like to say a massive thank you for your continued support of St. Michael s College Fair. If you have taken up the opportunity to be a Sponsor, thank you sincerely. Your generosity contributes to the running of our Fair and enables us to grow more and more each year. We cannot do this without your support. We are now only 9 weeks out from our Fair. We have a great group of parents who have volunteered to source prizes/donations for our Monster Raffle and Cent Auction. We do understand and acknowledge that it is a very tough economic climate and businesses are working hard to provide for their own families. I thought it a great suggestion that if you felt comfortable, families could ask their local hairdresser, mechanic, favourite take away businesses you visit regularly if they would be willing to donate a prize for our FAIR. At this time, we are in need of vouchers or prizes for the Monster Raffle and Cent Auction. If you have a Business that is in a position to donate a voucher or prize we would be very grateful. It doesn t have to be a big item, every little helps. If you are wanting to purchase a prize, here are some suggestions. Bottles wine/spirits Manicure/pedicure/facial/massage Carton of Beer Restaurant voucher Electrical goods Hairdressing voucher shampoo cut/blowdry/children s hair cut Wheelbarrow Gardening Tools Sporting Goods Car Service Garden Care

Decoration Guide The children s categories are for the children not for children and parents! Whilst we understand that younger children will need a little help with their creations, this should be keep to a minimum, help should be limited to teaching and assisting with physical tasks that their size may make difficult for them. We fully expect the entrant (child) to: 1. Handle all the cake making ingredients predominately by themselves 2. Spoon cake mixtures into the tins 3. Decorate the cake entirely by themselves, we consider that no help what so ever should be given with the decoration of any cake Allow your children to make their own creations even if they re not perfect. The judge will be looking for the expression of a child s creativity and imagination rather than parental help, so let them rip in your kitchen!
