Friday s contest is scheduled to start at 4:37 p.m. ADT, while Saturday s meeting is set for 4:07 p.m. THE SERIES UAA vs. UNO OVERALL: UAA leads, 2-1-1 AT UNO: First Meeting LAST MEETING: Oct. 14, 2011 (UAA won, 3-0) STREAK: UAA 1 NOTES: The Seawolves and Mavericks will face each other after meeting on Oct. 14 in a nonconference game at the BAGR tournament in Fairbanks, Alaska... SEAWOLF BITES: UAA s Brice Alaska Goal Rush title was its first since the inaugural event in 2008, and it marks the first time in four years that the Seawolves have swept both of their preseason tourneys (BAGR and Kendall Hockey Classic)... since the inaugural tournament in 2008-09, the Seawolves are 5-3 in the Brice Alaska Goal Rush... No. 15/16 UNO was the first ranked opponent UAA has had to play this season... the Seawolves were 6-12-2 last season against ranked foes... UAA and the Mavericks were both well-behaved throughout the game on Oct. 14, with neither team being tagged for a penalty... the last time UAA wasn t whistled for a minor was on March 3, 2000 against Alaska Fairbanks UAA won that game at UAF, 3-1... the game marked just the fourth time ever the Seawolves haven t spent time in the box over the weekend, UAA was tagged for only three penalties in 120 minutes of play... on Oct. 15, the Seawolves squared off with Atlantic Hockey s Mercyhurst and defeated the Lakers, 6-2... EXHIBITION vs. NORTHERN ALBERTA: Seven different UAA players tallied goals on Sept. 30 as the Seawolves used a five-goal second period to pull away for a 7-2 exhibition victory over Northern Alberta Institute of Technology at the Menard Memorial Ice Arena... sophomore Rob Gunderson had to make just six saves in his starting role to earn the victory in net, while juniors Mickey Spencer, Daniel Naslund and Scott Warner had multi-point nights, along with sophomore Matt Bailey... the Seawolves outshot the Ooks 18-1 in the deciding frame and 38-12 for the game... all of the UAA goals came in even-strength situations... sophomore Chris Kamal tended the Seawolf net for the second half of the game, making four saves. Jindra comes to UAA from the University of Notre Dame, where he played for four seasons from 2003-07 and served as a volunteer assistant coach during the 2010-11 campaign... after graduating from Notre Dame in 2007 with a bachelor s degree in business administration, Jindra spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Shattuck-St. Mary s School in Faribault, Minn., where he worked with some of the nation s most talented prep players... as a player at Notre Dame, he was part of two NCAA Tournament teams and played in 150 career games, scoring 12 goals and 24 assists.
