TRACTOR TREK NEWSLETTER NUMBER 5 - SEPTEMBER 2015 WELCOME Our aim this year is to raise $300,000 so we can provide enough money to support the 63 families and 155 children cared for by Camp Quality in the Central West for the next 12 months and we are certainly closing in on that figure. PARTICIPANTS We have 28 entrants for this year s Trek. All participants have been included on the Tractor Trek Fundraising Page on Everyday Heroes which can be found at www.tractortrek.org.au DINNERS Dinner at Oberon is being supplied by the Oberon Junior Rugby League Club. They always put on a good meal. At Lithgow, dinner is being supplied by Lithgow Lions Club who have a reputation for being good cooks. There will be an auction at both dinners with Rob Westcott as usual doing the honours of being our auctioneer. Thank you to both clubs and Rob for their help.. If you have any items or know a business that has indicated that they would like to donate an item for the auctions, please let Kristine McLean know (ph. 63 631933) Please remember you are can invite friends to these dinners. Tickets are $35.00. If you want tickets please contact Geoff Porter (email geoff@portcon.com.au or phone 0408 634 390) TRUCK PARKING For those of you who will need secure parking for your trucks or cars while away on the event we have arranged for this at the Scots School Bathurst. Please let us know if you need to use this parking. We thank the Scots School for allowing us to do this.

YETHOLME TRIVIA NIGHT As usual the Yetholme Trivia Night was an outstanding success with over $8,000 being raisd for Camp Quality. Congratulations to all involved DUBBO RAM SHOW AND SALE The Dubbo Ram Show and Sale was another successful event with around $4,000 being raised. Thank you to the organisers for allowing Camp Quality to be the guest charity this year and thanks also to the Trek entrants who took their tractors to the show. Many thanks to Wellington and Geurie Lions Clubs for running the charity BBQ at the Show and Sale. Also thanks to Purina for donating the dog biscuits used on the chocolate wheel. FUTURE EVENTS At the time of writing this newsletter the following are fundraising events planned for the future:- Railway Hotel Cowra Raffles on 5 September from 11.00am to 2.30pm. Camp Quality Raffle The prizes in this raffle are - 1 st prize is a Westinghouse 700L chest deep freeze (value $1800), 2 nd prize is a Superswift lawn mower (value $ 459) and 3 rd prize is a Weber BBQ ( value $299). We have sold over 4,500 tickets in the raffle. Many thanks to the 18 Volunteers who are selling raffle tickets for us.

TRACTOR TREK SHOES These have been painted by Raelene Albery at With A Grunt. Email address: shadowdancer018@hotmail.com With A Grunt can be found on Facebook. The shoes are a lot of fun. She has donated 4 pairs to the Tractor Trek Auctions. Thank you Raelene.If you wish to buy a pair please contact Raelene directly by email. The cost of children s shoes start at around $30 and adult shoes are around $50 depending on size TREK ROUTE This year we are taking you East. We will start at the Bathurst Showground and go to Rockley, Burraga, Black Springs before stopping overnight at Oberon. For those who want to camp we have made arrangements for you to do this at Oberon Showground. Dinner which will be held at the Showground. Morning and Afternoon Tea and Lunch will be provided along the way. On the Saturday we will go to O Connell, Tarana and Rydal before stopping overnight at Lithgow. Again those who want to camp may do so at the showground. Dinner again will be held at the showground. On the Sunday we will be going to Portland, Palmers Oakey and Limekilns before returning to Bathurst Showground. FEES FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT YET PAID THEIR FOOD FEES OF $150, WE WOULD LIKE THEM PAID AS SOON AS POSSIBLE SO WE ARE NOT CHASING YOU AROUND AT THE LAST MINUTE. THIS INCLUDES SUPPORT CREW, OFFICIALS AND TRAFFIC MARSHALS WORKING WITH CHILDREN NUMBERS ALL PARTICIPANTS INCLUDING TRACTOR DRIVERS AND CREW, OFFICIALS AND TRAFFIC MARSHALLS MUST HAVE A CURRENT WORKING WITH CHILDREN NUMBER. IF IT DOES NOT COMMENCE WITH THE LETTERS WWC IT IS NOT CURRENT AS THE RULES WERE CHANGED TOWARDS THE END OF LAST YEAR. PLEASE CONTACT GEOFF PORTER (0408634390) IF YOU NEED SOME HELP IN GETTING ONE.
