STATE OF MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES LANSING DNR DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES MICHIG AN April 0 Allegan County Board of Commissioners Chestnut Street Allegan, MI 4900 Dear Allegan County Board of Commissioners, I am writing to inform you of a potential Michigan Department of Natural Resources land acquisition in Clyde Township. The parcels involved total acres currently owned by the Gate Property, LLC. The property has been managed for hunting and habitat restoration so it will fit nicely into the opportunities here offered at the Allegan State Game Area (Game Area). First, some history. We have maintained a relationship with the Gate Property owners for many years as they neighbor the Game Area. When the property was listed for sale, they expressed interest in selling the property to the Michigan DNR as an addition to the Game Area. In order to proceed, the Department needs to have a discussions with representatives from the local units of government regarding the potential land acquisition. Clyde Township passed a Letter of Support as proof of the Township s desire for the acquisition to move forward, which let us receive funding from the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund and both parties have agreed on a purchase price for the property. Before requesting final approval for the acquisition from the DNR Director, I d like to secure comment from the Allegan County Board of Commissioners regarding the transfer of the property to State ownership. This can come in multiple different formats (listed from most desirable to least desirable):. Resolution of support from the Allegan County Board of Commissioners (Board). Letter of support from the Board on letterhead. Email of support from authorized local official 4. Letter of neutrality from the Board on letterhead 5. Email of neutrality from authorized local official.
