SUPPLEMENTAL RULES: 4 Download and read the ChampCar Endurance Series BCCR: https://champcar.org/rules Reading the rules is required by all CCES drivers, crew and car builders. Pit, Paddock and Garage Supplemental Rules: SRPP1 Pit lane spaces will be assigned. Email michael.chisek@champcar.org after June 1, 2019 for pitlane location request. SRPP2 No crew members are allowed over the wall until the team car has come to a complete stop in the pit box. SRPP3 The Hot Pit Lane will be the exclusive fueling area. Fueling of race cars shall be completed by use of 5-gallon plastic jugs with hoses or other fueling adapters as specified in the ChampCar BCR. Jugs must have sealable lids/caps. Metal fuel drums or other fuel containers and caddies with manual pumps (no electric pumps) and hose lines are allowed to re-fill plastic jugs but are not allowed for re-fueling race cars. All fuel storage must be maintained on the cold side of the pit wall or kept within your transporter. Funnels are no longer allowed for fueling. SRPP4 All teams shall have one (1) fully-charged 10lb ABC fire extinguisher in their pit area. All teams shall have one (1) 10lb bag of kitty litter or other reasonable absorbent for oil leaks and/or fuel spillage in their pit area. Having a broom handy is also be advisable. SRPP7 All team members over the wall during fueling must wear a Nomex driver s suit, gloves and full-face helmet., Nomex socks, and closed toe shoes. Anyone over the pit wall while fueling with facial or long hair require a balaclava. Basically the same requirements as the driver, except you may substitute your approved racing shoes for closed toe shoes. Leather boots are recommended. SRPP8 Electric, propane or kerosene heaters within the cold side of the pit wall are allowed provided all heating elements or flame sources are directed away from any flammable material and are kept a minimum of 20 from any fuel storage. No open flame stoves or BBQs are allowed in the cold pits. SRPP9 All cars, used or junk parts too big for a normal trash can, empty fuel drums and anything else you brought with you must be taken out with you. If you leave it behind, we ll track you down and it won t be pretty. SRPP5 Drivers may remain in the car during fueling and driver changes may also be completed. All engines and electrical kill switches must be off during fueling. NO WORK ON ANY CAR SHALL BE COMPLETED DURING REFUELING. SRPP6 All work and/or repairs that can be made to your race cars in under thirty (30) minutes may be executed in the Pit Lane; all repairs requiring more than 30 minutes time must be completed in the Paddock Area. A penalty of 1 lap for every five (5) minutes of work in the pit lane that exceeds 30 minutes shall be levied.
SUPPLEMENTAL RULES AND EVENT INFO 5 Participation Requirements: The race car must have completed at least one ChampCar Endurance Series event between January 1, 2018 and June 24, 2019. All entries will be vetted prior to the event. Event Costs and Payments: There will be no discounts, nor any early pay discounts for this race. You may apply your banked race credits for payment. The event will cost $2800 per car. $700 will be required as a deposit for the Indy event on or after November 1, 2018. The balance due date will be on May 13, 2019. If not paid, your deposit will be returned and the space given to the next wait list team. Garages: Gasoline Alley Garages are available for $200 for the weekend. You can order and pay for your garage when you pay for your Indy event. One car per garage. Fuel on site: Yes. All fuel must be purchased from the track pumps. This is a requirement by Indy. Cost is about $1 more per gallon and will be updated as the event draws near. Golf Carts: Golf carts/motorized vehicles will not be permitted on property. Paddock Trailer & Camper Parking: For those not wanting a garage, space will be available for no cost in the paddock. Camping is not allowed over night in the paddock. Any motorhomes / campers that come inside will not be permitted to stay inside, will need to stay overnight at the camping facility. See Camping Appendex. Restricted Areas: You may only enter approved area of the track. Please refer to the assocated maps. Members are not allowed to enter Race Control or the Media Center. If you have a problems during the race, you will need to visit registration. Food: You may not bring large quantities of food into the track, nor will you be allowed to have catered food or alcohol. ChampCar.Live! : Watch the race from start to finish with live commentary. Visit ChampCar.Live. Lighting: The pit lane has very limited lighting and minimal pit/paddock area lighting. Be advised that ambient lighting may not be sufficient for fueling or mechanical repairs. Therefore, teams are advised to consider alternate power and lighting sources. The use of EZ-ups on the cold side of the pit wall are also recommended for keeping out weather and hanging all lighting fixtures. Electrical Hookups in Pit / Paddock: There are electrical hookups along the pit lane wall. Pit Passes: Teams are advised that all team members, family, and guests who desire Pit Lane access MUST purchase a Weekend Membership Pass through ChampCar at the track. ChampCar members can obtain a free pit pass by showing their membership card. Guest Pass: Guests may pre-purchase a weekend membership to ChampCar online or at Friday check-in for $20. There will be no sales of weekend memberships at the gate on Saturday or Sunday. Pets: They are welcome on property, but must be kept on a leash. No pets on pitlane. Children: No children 18 or under on pit road. Camping: American Legion Speedway Post 500 is where camping will be available. This is located on Georgetown Road, just outside of Gate 6 (marked with a purple star on map) Call 317-244-9625 Barbecues: BBQ s are allowed in the camping area only, provided all BBQ s are supervised at all times, a fire extinguisher is within 15 of the open flame, and all open flames are (at a minimum) 20 from all race cars, fuel storage or other flammable sources.@ Track Bathrooms / Showers: Yes. / No. Gate: 6am to 9pm. Everyone must be out of the track area at 9pm each night. 6 Neighborhood areas around IMS: You should absolutely visit Main Street in Speedway, which is just off the roundabout, has some restaurants and Daredevil Brewing Company (good beer!) West on Crawfordsville Road, toward 465 has restaurants, grocery store, etc. Hotels: Downtown Hotels (about 15-20 minutes from IMS) Courtyard by Marriott Indianapolis at the Capital - 320 N Senate Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46204 Hampton Inn Indianapolis Downtown Across from Circle Centre - 105 S Meridian St, Indianapolis, IN 46225 Courtyard by Marriott Downtown - 601 W Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46204 Fuel Supply: We have asked the track what fuels are available and will make a poll for our racers asking them what type of fuel they need. We will let the track know what we need and the fuel supplier will have this fuel available on race weekend. After Hours Work Site: We have asked the track for confirmation about where our racers can work on cars after hours. We will update the supplementals once we get this information. Member / Guest / Public Viewing Areas: The viewing grandstands are atop the Gasoline Alley suites. There are grandstands, which have views of the road course. The only other viewing options are on the public viewing mounds, inside Gate 2, near the IMS museum. That is the area that is open to the public. Candlewood Suites Indianapolis Downtown Medical District (not quite downtown, not a lot around this hotel, about 10 min from IMS/ Downtown Indy) - 1152 N White River Pkwy W Dr, Indianapolis, IN 46222 There will be a new hotel that will be open off Crawfordsville Road and 465 (approx. 10 min from IMS), but it is not open for reservations yet will share when that information is available
7 Decal Installation & Location Instructions The following examples are approved installation locations for the required decal package. Contact Decal Inspection & Compliance at media@champcar.org 2019 BCCR 9.8. CHAMPCAR AND SPONSOR DECALS 9.8.1. Each car competing in a ChampCar event shall display the official ChampCar Endurance Series banner at the top of the windshield. The decal must be unobstructed and in clear view. For cars with no windshield, the Event Director will designate an alternate location for the banner. 9.8.2. ChampCar will provide teams with other series sponsor logos, printed on a single decal, which must be displayed next to the ChampCar number panels on each side of the car. 9.8.3. Other event sponsorship decals may be required. 9.8.4. All sponsor decals will be provided at ChampCar TechInspection. 9.8.5.
