This Week's Sanctuary Light Burns In Memory of Margaret Cuevas Last Week's Knight Winner Edwin Franco November Breakfast & Lunch Menu Do You Want to See Your Teacher as a Turkey? The annual CALB-sponsored turkey teacher contest is officially underway. If you want to see your teacher dressed like a turkey, purchase a feather for $1 to add to the teacher of your choice. For $.50, you can take a feather off of your teacher s turkey. The teacher with the most feathers on November 18 will have to wear a turkey costume around the school and during car line. Your child can put the money for feathers in an envelope marked Turkey Teacher Money. Be sure to put the name of the teacher you are purchasing feathers for or taking feathers away on the outside of the envelope. Thank you for your support! Class Lunch Times If you'd like to submit an announcement to be included in the weekly newsletter, please email ynnasrallah@gmail.com no later than Thursday by 3 p.m. Morning Drop-off Procedures There have been some questions and safety concerns regarding morning drop-off procedures. The tardy bell rings at 7:45 a.m. If you arrive after this time, you must drop your kids off in the front. If there is no teacher and/or you arrive after 7:50 a.m., you must park and walk students into the school. Students are officially tardy at 7:50 a.m. There are safety issues with dropping off younger kids at the front without a teacher there. If there is no teacher, they students must be walked in. But be sure not to park or leave your car in the front of the door. It backs up the flow of traffic. Please refer to pg. 17 of the student handbook for the official school policy. 5th Grade to Decorate Thanksgiving Boxes Students in the 5 th grade will be decorating boxes to deliver Thanksgiving dinners to those in need. If you would like to help, please stop by on Tuesday and/or Wednesday and lend a hand.
Art Supplies Needed Are you ready to get the election signs out of your yard? Ms. Tara need a bunch of them for a project in January. When the election is over, please bring your yard sign and stake to school. Any yard signs will work for this project as long as it has a stake and is the approximate size of an election sign (i.e., For Sale, Yard Sale, Garden Club, etc.). If you want it back, write your name on it. Our project will be the last week of January, and I will only need them for about 10 days. Thank you in advance. SVS to Join Catholic School Basketball League Thanks to everyone who came to the basketball parent meeting last week. There was a lot of interest in continuing the SVS basketball program, which will play within the Catholic School League this year. A flyer should go home this week with more information about the league, teams and registration. Students to Participate in Hoops for Heart SVS students are raising money for the American Heart Association while learning about their hearts and how to keep it healthy. To celebrate this effort, they will be playing basketball in the gym on Friday, November 18, at 2:15 p.m. Information was sent home a few weeks ago, but you can learn more about this program and submit your donations online. Thanks for your support! Congratulations to our Reading Fair Winners! The projects looked amazing. All of our SVS students did a great job presenting the different books they have read.
