Northside Gym (Elkhart Truth) SECTIONAL MOVE FOR PENN Penn's boys and girls basketball teams are switching sectionals this year. They have previously been in sectional 3, but now will be in sectional 4. Sectional 4 consists of Elkhart Central, Elkhart Memorial, Concord, Jimtown, Warsaw, Goshen, Northridge, and Penn. For the boys, Sectional 4 is played every year at Northside Gym in Elkhart. Northside Gym is among the top 10 largest gyms in the state. The gym also has a ton of history in the gym, which creates a rustic old school Indiana basketball feeling. The girls play at Goshen. Senior Kaitlyn Marenyi, an American University commit, said, "I'm very excited about the opportunity to play new teams in a sectional environment." She also adds that she will miss playing the other sectionals opponents, yet is very optimistic about the new sectional. Senior Camryn Buhr, a Lehigh commit, is a little sad about the switch. She said, "I loved playing in sectional 3 because a lot of the sectional was our conference. I will miss the rivalry between Mishawaka and Penn. It made it very competitive because we would play them at least twice in the same season." However she also says that she is very excited about the switch. Senior point guard of the boys basketball team Tyler Seger eagerly said, "The historic Northside Gym will hopefully entice more fans to come. I always love playing in Northside Gym, the atmosphere is always electric."
