Silver Spur Newsletter April 2014 IMPORTANT NOTICE The club grounds will be closed for special events on 3 separate occasions this year: August 10 th August 15 th 17 th August 19 th 24 th In This Issue 1 ~ Important Notice/Letter from the President 2 ~Show Committee 3 ~ Clover Valley Veterinary Clinic 4 ~ 2014 Calendar of Events 5 ~ Corey s Day on the Farm Benefit Barrel Races 6 ~ 2014 Silver Spurs Summer Series 7/8 ~ Game Show Entry Form 9 ~ Judy Myllymaki Clinic 10 ~ Time Only Tuesday 11/12 ~ February Meeting Minutes 13/14 ~ March Meeting Minutes 15/16 ~ Membership Application 17 ~ Gift of Life Celebration & Auction Letter from the President Paul Smyth President ~ Silver Spur Club At this time of year I have started my letter with something like here we go again, or and so it begins, and I would do that again but that s getting old so I will try a new approach. We have a new arena and a new group running the barrel series and helping with grounds maintenance. We also have some great new help that has been a key in putting in our new arena. All this said our season will start in April with our open house and we are trying to have our grounds ready to go. The main area is in question and we are counting on all of you to come and help with our two work parties to get all the spring prep done. As in the past, lunch will be provided and we seem to have fun even though it is work. I would be remiss not to report on the arena work. On Saturday March 22 nd we had five welders running and three of us running around making sure all the people welding had what they needed. We also had a body show up and go get lunch for everyone. The day started before 8:00 and ended after 4:00. The help and fellowship was wonderful. The schedule is out and in this newsletter you should find some announcements for fundraisers and a flier for the barrel series. You will also find the date for the work parties and the open house so please look and perhaps post the schedule were you can t miss it. We are starting our season and we are hoping to see all of you and your friends and family. Please come and join us! Newsletter 1
