FIS ordic Junior World Ski Championships 219 FIS U23 World Ski Championships Cross-Country 219 On behalf of the International Ski Federation and the Finnish Ski Association, the Organizing Committee is pleased to invite all member associations of the FIS to participate in the FIS ordic Junior World Ski Championships and U23 World Ski Championships Cross-Country from 2th to 27th of January in 219 in Lahti, Finland. GREETIGS FROM THE ORGAISERS We warmly welcome You all to FIS ordic Junior & U23 World Ski Championships to Lahti from 2th to 27th January 219. The event venue in Lahti was upgraded for the FIS ordic World Ski Championships 217 and we are now delighted to provide the juniors the same great infrastructure. Our experienced organization with all volunteers are happy to host the next generation of skiers and will provide the best possible conditions that the teams can focus on their performance. We are excited to organize a super interesting eight days of competition. During the event we expect more than 4 nations with 1 team members in Cross Country, ordic Combined and Ski Jumping challenging each other. We are also proud to organize the first time ever ordic Combined for Ladies as an official Championships event. I believe that during the games we are going to see future stars coming up. There will be high quality races and nations will do the last selections towards FIS ordic World Ski Championships held in Seefeld in February. We will do our very best that the atmosphere will be high and everyone - teams with its athletes, media, volunteers, spectators and the organization will enjoy their stay at our event. More details to follow. Teams arranging their own accommodation, extra services are offered by request (such as transportation, training possibilities). Teams are requested to inform their preferred location of accommodation in pre-entries. The earlier, the better possibility to get the preferred accommodation. Full board is included in the accommodation. Please inform all athletes and team members that full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner) is always served at the hotel. There will be flexible breakfast, lunch and dinner serving times at the hotels. Teams accommodating at Grand hotel, lunch and dinner is served nearby at the Restaurant Kivi. The official deadline via FIS Online registration system is 22.11.218 Important: Preliminary entries are mandatory for all the teams (see 11.3 for accommodation rules).

FIAL ETRY / ETRY BY AMES All the participating SAs must send their entries by names through the online registration system. The system will be opened for entry by name as soon as the preliminary entry has been done. Change of names will still be possible until the day before the first TCM (23:59 CET). After the deadline the system will be closed and any changes of the names are only possible after the approval from the respective Jury. QUALIFICATIO SYSTEM Basic Quota: Host ation: Allocation of Quotas: Each participating SA is allowed to enter up to two athletes in Ski Jumping men. The host nation is expected to enter (a) competitor(s) up to the maximum SA quota of 5. The allocation of additional quotas per SA is based on the COC Ranking List (CRL) composed of the results of the past and current seasons. The allocation will be made by assigning one quota place per competitor from the top of the standings downwards. Once a SA has achieved the maximum number of 5 quota places, the next eligible SA on the CRL will be allocated a place until the total of 8 competitors is reached (including host nation). If the number of 8 cannot be reached with the CRL, the FIS CUP standings composed of the results of the last and current season will be taken into consideration. Process and Timeline: AGE LIMITS The final quotas based on entries (see art.1.3) and using the CRL resp. FIS Cup standings will be calculated and announced 2 weeks prior to the JWSC. The FIS competition year is 1st July 3th June of the following year. RADIO EQUIPMET / FREQUECIES Regulations of radio equipment/frequencies The import, export and the operation of radio equipment in Finland is regulated by national law. Permits for the use of radio transmission equipment must be requested according to national specifications. The Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority (FICORA) controls the use of radio frequencies in Finland and ensures that a sufficient number of frequencies are equally available, in order to ensure all users are able to operate in a cooperative and legal manner. Each user of a radio transmitter subject to license must obtain a license granted by FICORA. FICORA assigns the frequencies to be used.
