SCRR 1 Lap Is approximately 25km No steep climbs Gentle rolling hills only erecce course preview https://youtu.be/xnx9all_9ac

Course Details Hazards around the course Parked cars in villages are likely residents have been asked to park carefully and off of the course though this isn t possible everywhere. Upon entering Gawcott at the end of the lap, there is likely to be parking in the road due to football game (morning only) One right hand turn will be marshalled by stop signs for the bunches; solo / small groups of riders may have to give way if off the main bunch. This also applies to some left hand turns where riders do not have priority. Listen during race briefing for other hazards which will be pointed out. Potholes will be inevitable and so we recommend avoiding using your best carbon wheels. Whilst the worse potholes will be marked, catching every single one is not guaranteed so please do keep a look out and warn fellow riders of any potholes or similar hazards. Horses on the course will see the race neutralised and if necessary, stopped until the horses are no longer on the race course. (this is due to past horse bolting incidents) Should this happen please obey the instructions given by officials and avoid shouting / causing any commotion as this can aggravate the situation and cause injury to the horse, rider and cyclist. Excessive crossing of the white line has resulted in disqualification in the past. Littering results in 10 fine. Please retain all bottles and gel packets. erecce course preview: https://youtu.be/xnx9all_9ac

Race Notes Both races are the first round of the 2018 Central Road Race League which was born in 2016. The 19 member clubs within this Road Race League receive priority selection for Regional Races (up to 4 per club) The League also gives priority to all Junior racers no matter where they come from. A 2018 racing licence is needed with you in order to race. If you do not bring your licence with you there are 2 choices: 1. Purchase a day licence (Regional B race only) 2. Withdraw from riding in the race There are no exceptions to these rules. Junior riders in both races must report to the Commissaires before sign on for a gearing check. You must have a top gear of 7.93 metres maximum (equates to 52 x 14). Be prepared for an additional post race check. Accredited Marshalls will manage the junctions around the course. Please do not assume that you always have right of way, particularly if you are off the back or not preceded by a race convoy vehicle (car or motorbike.). If you are several minutes behind the main bunch you are likely to encounter junctions without the Marshalls receiving and so may not receive their full service. They will of course do their best in all circumstances. Several NEG motorbikes will be assisting with the race. Please help by allowing them to pass freely when required; a horn sounding from any vehicle is the general way that they will notify you of wishing to pass. There will be one Race Service vehicle supplied by Grant Phillips and so you are welcome to bring a spare wheel. Spares are not allocated to particular individuals or owners and are available for any rider. For this reason do mark your wheel so that it can be identified upon return / collection. The Race Service is under the control of the Commissaire and may be sent to the break away or remain with the main bunch; for this reason it is not possible to rely on it always being with the group you find yourself in. A 10 minute rule may be enforced. Should this happen and you fall 10 minutes behind, you will be considered as out of the race and may be unclassified at the finish.

Feed Zone Details Feeding is not allowed in the Spring Chicken Road Race This is not a long race and so feeding is unnecessary. Feeding is permitted in the Roy Thame Cup Race. This is to take place within the designated feed zone on the opposite side of the course to the start / finish area and is allowed on the left hand side of the road only. Please refrain from feeding elsewhere on the course unless the Commissaire confirms of any additional feed zones prior to the start of the race. Maintain any gel packets, food wrappers, bottles in pockets or elsewhere within clothing until the end of the race. Other potential feed zones for the Roy Thame Cup Race: Race HQ 1 2 Large gravel lay-by on a gently rising road, approximately 1 mile before Botolph Claydon. Past Botolph Claydon Village Hall, towards East Claydon 1 2

Getting to Race HQ MK18 1AX will take you to Brookfield Lane.
