FLORIDA ALLIANCE PROGRAM INFORMATION SAHOF SANCTIONED TIER 1 HOCKEY PROGRAM PURPOSE OF THE FLORIDA ALLIANCE The purpose of the Florida Alliance is to provide the highest level of training, exposure opportunities, and game competition to the players who have the ability to play Tier I hockey. By having one SAHOF sanctioned Tier I program in the State the options to play Tier I hockey have been scaled back. However the result will be the players who truly have the ability to play at the highest level will be able to do so with other players of the same ability. Combining the Tier I talent into one program will assist in our goal of further developing Florida s youth hockey players. One of the main battles has been the rosters are not deep enough to win against the top talent in the country on a consistent basis. The Florida Alliance opens the door to feature rosters filled with talented players from top to bottom. The Tier I player in the State of Florida will have an option to train together and develop to a higher level with the Florida Alliance. FLORIDA ALLIANCE PROGRAM DIRECTION The Florida Alliance program went through a revamping this off season. As many as 15 respected hockey coaches and program operators from around the State had a face to face meeting to discuss Tier I hockey in the State and what direction Tier I in Florida should be moving forwards. It was decided not all the Florida Alliance teams should be full season Tier I teams. Meaning non national bound teams should not be attending 5 to 7 out of State tournaments, driving all over the State for practices, and spending thousands of dollars on travel and hotels. The plan moving forward for this year s Florida Alliance is the 04, 03, 02, 01, 00, 99, and 98 birth year teams to be Tier I Tournament teams. The U16 Midget Minor team will be a full season Tier I team. WWW.FLORIDAALLIANCEAAA.COM

FULL SEASON TIER I TEAM U16 MIDGET MINOR The U16 Midget Minor team will be a full season Tier I team that will represent SAHOF at SED Districts with a goal of participating at USAH Nationals. The U16 program will feature the following highlights: Training Camp with NCAA Coach or Coach from Professional Rankings. 50 Practice Hours 50-55 Game Schedule Independent or League 4 Tournaments Mass Tier 1 Labor Day Marlboro, Mass 8-30/9-2 East Coast College Cup @ Yale University and Quinnipiac 10-11/10-13 Beantown Classic @ University of New Hampshire and Haverhill, MA 10-25/10-27 Crocodile Cup Estero, FL 11-1/11-3 Exhibitions Games with Atlanta Fire (Home/Away) Dallas Alliance (Home/Away) Texas Tornado (Away) and Dallas Stars Elite Hockey Club (Away). To be eligible to participate on a Florida Alliance Tier I Tournament team all players must also be rostered with a local Tier II program. All tournaments and practices will not conflict with the players Tier II team s schedule due to assistance by the Tier II leagues schedulers. The Florida Alliance Tier I Tournament teams will follow SAHOF rules which permit a player to participate in no more than 3 Tier I Tournaments and still maintain the player s Tier II status for the whole season. If a player participates in more than 3 Tier I Tournaments that player will be ineligible for Tier II SAHOF State playoffs. The tournaments will be in October, November, and a 3rd tournament in either December or January. The first practice day will be on a weekend in September followed by a weekend day in October, November, and December or January. Ideally each practice would be the weekend before the team s scheduled tournament.
