Meredith Schertzinger 6 Student Manager Mia Schreibeis 7 Abby Semler 8 Louise Zhou 9 A special thanks goes out to senior student manager Lauren Meyer. Lauren made a decision to not play her senior season, instead focusing on her academics and beginning her senior year as strong as possible. While we were disappointed not to have her on the field with us, we were excited that she wanted to stay connected with the team. She has attended most games, diligently keeping statistics in the scorebook. It makes my job sorting through stats so much easier as she takes great care of the book. Her enthusiasm and friendship to her classmates and the younger players is just as important as any member of the team. We will greatly miss Lauren and the Meyer family after five tremendous years as members of the Summit community.

The coaching staff has been so impressed with her work ethic, her willingness to accept her role on the team and the increasing contributions week-to-week. She has willed herself into being a vital and important member of the team. This has not escaped the notice of the coaches or her teammates who are constantly validating Liz s efforts after each match. Liz is one of those athletes you can describe as coachable. She takes each suggestion and instruction and follows it exactly. As the season has progressed, Liz has received increasing minutes and minutes in important moments of the match. The coaching staff has been more and more comfortable with inserting her into the lineup. Liz, I am so happy to write for you! I remember seeing you freshman year and you came right up to talk to me. I was so glad that someone wanted to talk to me and be my friend. I was so nervous, but you made it easier for me. I ve enjoyed playing with you all three years, watching how hard you work. Seeing you sprint to every ball and trying your best really makes me feel like I need to work harder too. I love seeing you at practice and talking to you. You re one of my best friends on the team, and I m going to miss you so much next year. -Brenna Biggs, Class of 2015

Addie played every important minute. She was a constant. She was dependable. And she was dominant. We did not allow one right sided goal in the flow of play for two consecutive seasons. That is how dominant Addie is as the left sided back defender. And she did this without complaint knowing she is actually a midfielder. When discussed with her, she simply states, whatever is best for the team. This is a definition of a team player. - Coach Fee There are so many good things I could say about Addie Englehart, but I think her most important characteristic to mention, is her ability start new and find good in people. My freshman year, Addie and I were not good friends. We never really clicked. I hung out mostly with my sister, a senior, and she hung out mostly with her sister and friends. There was the occasional hello or wave, but no meaningful relationship past that. My sophomore year, I was injured and couldn't play. With my sister gone at college, I was really out of my comfort zone, and on top of that didn't really feel apart of the team. Worried that I wouldn't really adjust to the situation, I was very reserved. To my surprise, Addie was the first person I talked to at one summer scrimmage, and it was during that conversation (our first one ever) that we clicked. From that moment on we have been inseparable. Over the last year, I have watched Addie grow as she went from being the "little sister" in her group of friends, to now being my "big sister" and a sister and leader to so many others. I admire Addie for her ability to look for the best in people, even when it forces her to look hard and deep. Addie is one of the smartest people I know, and I can honestly say her advice has never lead me astray in a difficult situation. And lastly I admire her loyalty. Addie refuses to get involved in girl world drama, or petty arguments, because she truly loves her friends, and always looks to protect them and guide them. Even though I couldn't play, I've never felt more apart of a team than our team last year, and I have Addie to thank for that! I haven't figured out what I'm going to do without her next year, but I'm so excited for her because I know she is going to amazing things with her life, and that no distance could ever effect the bond we have built over the last year. Go get em Goose! Emily Wiser Addie s goal in the state championship game was the team s fifth of the day. That tied a record for the most goals ever scored in the state finals.

Sometimes I forget to stay in coach mode during matches because I am so caught up in watching her play. She can do amazing things with the ball at her feet and has nearly perfected the long range shot. When the ball is in the air during those shots, I often have time to think, Oh, that s a goal as it sails toward the frame. I love having conversations with opposing coaches after the game at midfield and hearing their perspective of what Bryce accomplished during the match. It usually begins with I told my team that she was going to do that, and to not allow her, but - Coach Fee Bryce, Where do I even start? We have gotten to be so close this year, and I am no longer that freshman that's intimidated by you (weren't we all). Whether it's on the field or off the field, we read each other like a book. I know when you are going to play the ball right behind the defense and you can always count on me to run after it. I love playing with you and I hope you heal quickly so we can play together one last time. I'm going to miss all of your "short jokes" and feeling like a midget when I stand next to you. I am going to miss you so much, but I know you are going to do great things at Wright State. Even though you use my head as an arm rest and eat my food, I will always love you. Morgan Evans, Class of 2016 Freshman year Bryce scored a hat trick against Mariemont. The first came from a head ball off a corner. The second on a 35 yard bomb. And the third came after chesting down a throw -in, cutting to the middle and blasting a shot from inside the 18.

How cool would that have been? 2012 Junior Varsity Team Captain 2013 Team Manager One of the great benefits of coaching is what you receive off the field. Relationship building is certainly as important as what we accomplish on the field. Lauren is a great example of why athletics is such an important part of a young person s maturation. Lauren never contributed at the varsity level, while her sister Mary had great success, but Lauren s impact on the school community was no less impactful. We are so grateful that she wanted to remain as part of the program and has consistently made herself available to the team. Lauren demonstrates that you can be a leader and role model without contributing on the field. When one thinks of Lauren Meyer, many positive qualities come to mind. Lauren is such a funny, kind-hearted person that instantly lights up a room when she enters. She has been a big sister to me ever since I was a freshman. Even though Lauren did not play soccer this year, she made a huge contribution to our team. Lauren comes to every game, is always an enthusiastic fan, and keeps track of our team s stats. Last year, when Lauren was the captain of the JV team, she showed great leadership and saw the best in everybody. Lauren is smartest girl I know, her dedication to achieve outstanding grades is something I truly admire about her. Lauren is such a well-rounded person; I am so lucky to call her a big sister and a close friend. I love you Lauren, thank you for always being there. I m going to miss you so much when you go to college, but I know you are going to do great things. Addy Baby Smythe, Class of 2016

And she has excelled at each position. There has never been one complaint about needing to change positions. It is always about what is best for the team with Meredith. I am still amazed at what she accomplished as a sophomore starting as a center back, moving to center mid and ultimately to forward where she culminated the season with a dominating state final. She is every coaches dream unselfish, hard working, a leader, a scholar athlete and a tremendous example of what we want in a Summit athlete and student. Meredith was named the MVP of the state championship with 2 goals, an assist, and an awkward fall over Willie after assisting her goal. Where has the time gone? I cant believe you are already a senior. My first memory of meeting you my freshman year was when we both forgot our papers for try outs so we had to go on a run instead of practice. We talked the whole run and I wasn't a nervous freshman anymore. You are a true leader on and off the field. You are always smiling, laughing, and positive no matter what. You are a trustworthy friend, I know I can come to you for anything, whether school related, soccer related, or guidance on my future. You are the strength that holds the D unit together and lead the team. When the coaches were choosing captains for this year I knew you would be perfect! Good luck next year! I know you will succeed in everything you try to accomplish in college. Mer, you are a outstanding role model to so many and I don't think you realize the positive affect you have on other peoples lives. I respect and look up to you. Thank you for all your love and support on the soccer team.i hope we keep in touch because I will miss your friendship and positive encouragement when you are gone. That smiling, friendly, care-free young woman you see in the hall is replaced with a tenacious, spirited, hate-to-lose player on the field. She is the tip of our defense at the top of the field, hounding and menacing the opposing defenders into poor clears and into the waiting feet of our midfield. Coaches always love to have at least one player that can set that example for the rest of the team. Mia and the staff had to wait a long time for her transfer eligibility to occur. She has been well worth the wait. Her style of play in college is going to be loved at Winthrop. The staff and team there are going to love her presence next year. Where do I even start! You are the funniest person I know. I always have to laugh and smile when I am with you or driving with the top down in your Mini Cooper, singing loudly and getting stares from other cars. You are also an AMAZING soccer player and I am so happy and excited for you to do big things at Winthrop next year. It's crazy to think that you will be leaving next year, because like you always would say when we first met, we play only a year apart for club. I have loved playing up top with you this season and working with you. I have to apologize for being deaf though and probably not playing you the ball where or when you wanted it 99% of the time. You always instruct me and talk to me on the field about how I could have done something better or just tell me I was fine when I would miss an easy opportunity. To say the least, the "forward unit" (or foward in my mind) will not be the same next year with out you. I will miss you next year more than words can even begin to describe. I love you so much my Miaca! I can't thank you enough for all the memories this season and for just being an amazing teammate and friend and inspiring me to be the best player I can be. I can't wait for you to do so well at Winthrop because I know you will love it and they will absolutely love you! I'm here for you whenever you need me, forever and ever! Jess DeJesus, Class of 2017

She has had to work so hard to earn the starting position beginning as the fourth string keeper freshman year, to earning third her sophomore year, getting in one varsity match. Last year she made the full varsity team and served as the second keeper to Ayanna. Finally her patience and hard work has paid off and she rightfully earned the starting nod to begin the season. Her story is one of hard work and dedication to improving her skill set. It s a great example of believing in your abilities and working to achieve a goal. She has set a great example for Caroline Walton and has proudly taken her place in the fine progression of Summit goalkeepers. Abby scored her first career goal this season, the first goal scored by a keeper since Liz Arnold in 2009. You are the craziest, funniest, and strongest person I know. Literally your bicep is huge. I can't imagine goalie without you, the other freshies and i would be lost. I loved our car rides to soccer together and gossiping about the latest senior gossip! Next year my life will feel empty without my other half, you've literally been like an older sister to me, not the mean kind, but the kind that you can tell anything to but still look up to at the same time. You encourage me everyday and you really try to help me out when I'm down or not getting the results I want. You are an amazing person and your photos are BEAUTIFUL! You inspire me everyday to be not only a better keeper, but a better person as well. Your smile is contagious and our team is lucky to have you. She is dedicated, unselfish, supportive of teammates, self-critical, but willing to accept any coaching points and will always, always give you her best effort. In a season where the team has been struggling with numerous injuries, we have had the need to reach deep into our bench. Louise has answered our call all season, starting several games and coming off the bench in other games. She has accepted her role on the team without question. We are lucky to have her on this team and I know without a doubt that she has become a role model on the field and in the halls to many of the younger players. From the first day I met you I knew there was something different about you, something that made you unique and made you stand out amongst your peers. You are the type of person that will help others before they help themselves. That one thing is what makes you one of the most inspirational person that I have ever met. You are a role model to me. You are nice to everyone you meet and you give all you have when a task is given to you. You are never too quick to give up, even when the problem is challenging and seems hopeless. You give it everything you have. I know that when you move on with your life and go into the working field you will succeed in whatever you have chosen to do and you will be one of the most respected people there. You have a great future ahead of you. I really hope we stay in touch because I can t wait to hear about all the amazing things you will do! Gracie Kunkel, Class of 2016
